even if O&A are back or not... i refuse to pay $ to a company that doesn't appreciate me.

As a result...I will be doing the following:

1. log into http://www.google.com/a
2. purchase a domain name (for $10)
3. turn on the "catch all emails" feature and forward them to my personal email

This will allow me to have an unlimited amount of emails to use with their stupid 3 day trial.

I'm not sure how long i'll do this for... i just cant stand giving them money... sad it has come to this...

by the way...this would transelate to 83 cents per month.

A fan in Scotland did that for the entire time O&A were on XM. But shit, go to www.slacker.com if you just want to hear music. That site is so fucking awesome and it's free.

If they ease up on the stranglehold, I will go back to giving financial support to XM (although I will never give the company itself any respect after all of this).

If they put O&A back on the air with a gag order and allot of restrictions, I will not pay 1 cent to that company. I pay for uncensored, I won't pay for censorship.

Hey tools, mark this post in your bookmark/favorites.

Because im going to tell you exactly what is going to happen after 30 days.

Opie and Anthony will never come back to XM.

XM has been threatened by the federal government. If they bring back O&A they will revoke their license for broadcasting and that's the end of the company.

And yeah, there's always ways to get the show. If you look around for a bit, you will find a torrent of information.

I will listen via DirecTV or dowload the show via Bittorrent. XM is dead to me.

Cancel the XM on DirectTV extension, it should lower your directtv cost I think. Some of the money still goes to XM.

The FCC created and awarded the licenses to operate the two satellite radio organizations. They have power over them, even if that power is hidden fro view.

Otherwise why did XM fire O&A?

No "special interest" group, only some right wing douchebags who will have to worry about smearing Ron Paul's campaign did most of the dirty work.

The federal government has the ultimate say in this. Dont give that "but it doesnt" bullcrap.

I hate XM and have cancelled.

But I'm in Kentucky and 90% of my O&A time is on the road. I'm catching little chunks of the FM show on the net at work but I'm usually pretty busy and usually dont even get to hear a full bit.
If they go back on XM, I'll resub 'under protest' as long as it is noted on my account that I only subscribe for the Opie and Anthony show.

Everyone here is betting that there will still be a CBS show...which I'm highly doubting. Next weekend is Memorial Day...and the alleged "format flip" of Free-FM. My bet is the boys don't survive that either.

I fucking hate this country sometimes. Hopefully the boys will decide to be the pioneers of internet radio, but I assume they feel they are bigger than that (and they are). Even still, they could truly launch that medium into the mainstream if they wanted to.

They'll reject the merger, not revoke the licenses.

It's too bad internet radio has such a negative connotation, even though it will allow unlimited freedom most jocks would be embarrassed going on it.

give it time my friend. The only thing we need is the WiFi industry to catch up. That's were it all starts. From there, cars and devices will destroy Satellite Radio. Just like the WiFi phones will take over.

I miss the bboys, but maybe the run is done, I had a great 2+ years listening, but I'll have to move on. If they do come back I'll listen, but if not, I'll catch them on CBS online if I can until that's gone as well. I really liked the XM portion better though

I did that 3 day trial thing for a while, then I gave in to torrents. (I live in the UK so XM units wont work here and I dont want to have to sit at my PC all day)

I could live with only having an FM show. While I enjoyed the XM portion greatly, I always felt the FM version was on par. They boys really don't have to use curse words to get their points across enough to be funny. I honestly like to hear them talk about the news too, which doesnt happen on the XM shows. I say fuck XM, we don't need it.

Ok, Mr. Panero thanks for letting us know.

I never paid for XM in the first place so even if I wanted to cancel (which I do not, it will hurt the other show I love) I couldn't. I figure my 10 letters and 3 calls a day to XM do a lot more than 2 cancelled subs.

I could live with just a CBS show as long as my current method of listening to it holds up. I normally only got to hear the entire show on replays so it's not that much of a change in my habit except the signal is coming from an Ipod now instead of my XM unit. On the mornings when I am up that early (I prefer to drive at night....) I'll miss having the show :(

And unlike Mr. Panero here, what I'm about to say is just my gut feeling.

They'll be back on June 15.

Anthony has a movie studio in his basement, so I'm sure he could figure out how to do a podcast. Only problem would be that he couldn't afford that house anymore...
