I am an ardent supported of O&A and R&F and Stern hater for those that know me. What amounts to a trifecta I am also a long term subscriber to XM (I reupped my 3 year sub a week prior to all this shit hitting the fan), a long term and substantial XM shareholder as well as a Sirius shareholder. That said may I suggest that other shareholders of both these stocks take direct action as shareholders. I have already written my first round of letters; to which I have received NO response to date. As a shareholder I am outraged at the non-response to my letters, emails, and phone calls I have made. Be it for a share holder or not...a formal response is always in order. This said, Now I expect to take this to the next level... I am prepared to cut the subscription to XM as well as act on my shareholder status. "I will not be ignored!" :icon_evil

getting the shareholders involved is a great idea. this WILL affect them. you can't remove the #1 show on your platform and not take a hit. Hugh Panero should step down.
we need more shareholders to speak up and wave flags
watch xm start shitting there pants then

I would do it anyways, not sure how the future of XM will be. The company is losing out to Sirius in many ways, the merger will be blocked, huge churn will have to be announced next quarter, etc.
Also any shareholders in the DC area, check out the thread about visiting the share holders meeting.

sorry for the repost, I'm an attention whore..but I think it better fits this thread...
As a member of PAC, I think we need to make an official request for a sitdown with XM brass.. Our reps vs there's. Request an official count on the number of cancelations due to the suspension.
They will decline, or ignore. At that point we need to make that the story. Send out press releases regarding XM radios refusal to meet with PeopleAgainstCensorship. Call the AP..
(don't we have newspapers on the payroll?? Wouldn't they be interested in a corrupt satelite radio company?)
The story is XM refuses to speak with PeopleAgainstCensorship, they turn their backs on customers, and they are hiding the actual number of cancelations so that they can maintain there stock price. If we pound on those points we could give this story the legs it needs.. IMHO, we need a focused message..

Maybe PAC should try and speak with places like Motley Fool and the NY Times to spread the word on the cancellations. You want to get there attention...drop the stock price $1. You'll have their attention.

I agree...the sale of my stock is on the agenda but it needs to be done with some impact. Not that my 5k shares will make much of a differnece but if we UNITE with other share holders here on the boards and sell on a spefici date with some media attention...then we might be heard.
Ideas kids?

I think turning this around into XM being secretive and withholding information from shareholders is a good way to go.
This is how I think PAC should do this:
1) Contact XM via letter and phone call and request a meeting with the upper levels of management. This letter should include specific questions that they want answered:
A) What was the number of subs canceled related to O&A's suspension over the past week.
B) Why were many people who tried to cancel suspended instead? And furthermore, why were many subscribers lied to about their ability to cancel before the end of the billing period? (cover all problems with cancellations.)
C) Why has XM censored a channel that was specifically designed to be controversial and uncensored? Additionally why are some XM chanels censored (202) and others not (Comedy and Rap)
D) What assurances do current and future (including former subscribers who might re-sub) have that XM management will not censor content in the future.
E) What assurances do we have that O&A are actually returning?
F) If they do return will they be barred from discussing this matter? If so why?
G) What will XM do to change their practices related to customer/subscriber relations?
H) what did the proposed merger have to do with this decision (I am hesitant to ask this question but it is good for stockholders)
2) Issue a press release stating that they requested this meeting with the questions that we want answered. This should go out as widely as possible and also to every advertisers/sponsors.
3) If they are ignored or denied a meeting (which they will be), then that needs to go out to the press as well highlighting the questions most related to stockholders.
4) PAC should attend the stockholders meeting and have these questions asked during the question and answer phase. (It is possible to buy one share of stock in a company and then be entitled to attend the meeting.)
Just one idiots thoughts.

I don't really know how these meetings go. My question is can anyone ask questions to XM or is it they only speak. If some one can ask how many people called to cancel because of O&A and is there any truth to them not canceling sub's when customers requested. It would be good to see their response in front of all of their investors.
