This is not just about me being a fan of O&A. This was a poor business decision. Lying to customers, censoring uncensored programming, and not admitting the mistakes. Serious errors in judgment have been made and have not been corrected. This calls into play whether Mr. Panero is fit to run XM any longer. He needs to step down effective immediately and reinstate the Opie and Anthony Show and apologize to the subscribers affected. Advertisers are leaving, subscriptions are hemorrhaging, and what is Mr. Panero doing? Nothing! If XM is to be saved from this faux pas Hugh Panero must resign.

You forgot about approving directives to customer service reps to lie and fraud customers from "canceling" their service to pad subscription numbers.

How come everyone is spelling poorly in the thread titles?

Anyways, Hugh will be fired if Gary is replaced by the investors. Next meeting is the 25th, but I doubt they will vote to remove Gary yet. They don't know about the latest record breaking churn rates, which unfortunately will not come out until after the meeting.

Whoever was responsible for the suspension should be fired. I had a lynching joke, but fuck it.

you really think that's going to go through?

I don't think a total revamp of the entire executive monarchy at XM could save their asses now. I propose a buyout by some investment company with a radio background. Clean Slate!!! (Yes, even E-Lo)

you really think that's going to go through?

the XM people apparrently do, otherwise why get rid of the show and piss off thousands of subscibers? If it fails, you'd think they'd need us.

Fuck the merger. Hopefully everyone got off their asses and bitched to the DOJ about this recent XM crap, and the merger will be shot down without question.

And the same with writing the FCC, and your representatives.

DanaReevesLungs, you hit it right on the money....but I'd like to see Lee Abrams stay on.

E-Lo should become CEO, he obviously understands the industry more than Hugh.

I was on that when they first announced it. Only a few people got it then. Let's hope they've been enlightened.

Theres a good chance it will. They will argue that killing the merger will cause both companies to fail. Not a difficult thing to prove since neither has made a single penny of profit. This kind of situation involving an emerging technology/industry trumps traditional anti-trust.

Theres still a possibility to kill it though if politicians think there will be enough of a public backlash.

I dunno.... most the people at Motley Fool think it's VERY unlikely to happen....I generally trust them....

I think some people have been in front of their computers for too long. Back away from the desk and get some sleep. At the very least go outside and take a deep breath.

OK, terrific. Panero gets fired and gets a $20 million dollar golden parachute. Poor fella. He's a fucking idiot. This suspension has to go down as the worst decision in corporate history. How the fuck do you alienate so many loyal subscribers? Makes no sense to me.

Wasn't Hugh involved in "cooking the books" to make XM seem stronger financially than they really were about a year ago, leading to their stock tanking?

How can you suspend you're top draw,
Oprah & bob edwards dont get this many sub's buying new, or even multiple radios. Or even Hoo-hoo, tell em fred.

O & A fans alone have sold more radio's buy telling friends & family, co-workers and strangers about the show.

XM CEO's and othre Suits are out of their Friggin mind to suspend their #1 money maker

Besides they didnt break the rules, XM 202 is XL and that means nasty shit gets said,

OK, who's going to file the law suit?? Call the SEC?? Write the FTC??? Sure there will be hundreds, no thousands of supporters at the share holder's meeting.

Hugh will be done soon, then we have Mel. And we know what a great Boss he will be.

A&O 10/2004 - 4/2006. The Golden Age of Entertainment. RIP.
