That would be great!! Altanta radio bites.. Wait, we have the morning show on 99x ... :icon_roll

We did have the morning X here for a while with Fred Toucher, It was ok i guess but now that i think about it all he did was bash O&A, I didnt know who they were at the time ...
We had the regular guys for a while also but they got canned for recording two of the hosts talking crap about them in the toilet and playing it on the air ...

Hopefully when all these canceled XM subs start listening on regular radio the ratings will go up, unfortunately there will be a big wait for that.

The only positive that can come from the XM firing is that CBS starts to really push the show. More affiliates, more publicity, more gooder!

Considering that Hoo Hoo was never able to crack that market (as far as I can remember anyway), it'd be pretty amazing.

Who knows what will happen? (I'm sure some douche on here will claim to know everything about the subject, even without seeing any contracts.) The boys have often said that XM is syndicating them out to CBS and other radio companies. If they lose the XM show, they may have to redo a lot of, or all, their other deals. Maybe Citadel has Atlanta stations that could carry O&A.

O&A would do great in this market ... when O&A didnt take the job here they hired the regular guys, when the regular guys got canned the first time for a bit that went wrong they brought in Bob and Tom then canned Bob and tom and brought back the regular guys ... now we have no one:icon_sad:

There is nothing but crap in Atlanta as far as local radio is concerned. It would be great to have them siyndicated here. I've been to Jimmy's last two gigs, and there is a substantial fan base. To have a Traveling Virus show in Atlanta would be HUGE.

Unfortunately, I've got to say that the glass is half empty. People are just too conservative here. The boys' CBS show is too much for Atlanta to handle.

For those of you not from Atlanta, here is where I'm coming from.......one of the top listened to morning shows in Atlanta.......Boooortz!

I hope I am proven to be wrong.

The bbboys would be huge down here .... The regular guys got canned because they fucked up the first time by trying to do that "Backwards Porn" bit that went terribly wrong.(raunchy porn clips went out over the air over a toyota commercial) The second time they got canned it was because clear channel has no balls ... O&A content on terrestrial radio would be fine in Atlanta ...

I don't know what show you were listening to, but Toucher has never had anything but praise for O & A. He attacked The Regular Guys for stealing from them (FU Line, etc.). Part of the reason he was so happy to be on WBCN in Boston is because they also carried O & A.

That being said, I had no idea DAVE was a CBS station and am emailing now!

Unless you heard the multiple exchanges between Toucher and Kevin Smith, which I did, you really wouldn't understand how wrong that paragraph is. The "disparaging remarks" were simply that he didn't think Jersey Girl was very good, but that he still liked all his other movies. Smith's board heard this and alerted Kevin and some stupid arguments ensued. I love Kevin, but he really is too worried about what other people think of him and his movies.

hahaha, no actually, I liked The Regular Guys too, just trying to stay honest here. I've heard bad things about Larry's show in JV and Elvis' old slot though, which reenforces my opinion that Eric was the best part of The regular Guys.

yeah ive heard the same thing ... As a Duo they were great but alone Larry isnt doing too good... Ive checked out the show when he was filling on the 10 pm slot, he even had the porn Czar running the board and it wasnt very good ... Most of his callers were former Regular Guys listeners but he was blowing them off ... What an asshat

sadly the closest CBS stations to me are the Atlanta cluster, and I can pick up 92.9 every now and then, but it's still 150 miles away. tons of Citadel stations close enough though, in Chattanooga, Nashville and Birmingham. I think Dave would be a good spot for them... one of the strongest Atlanta stations, too

Actually, "The Regular Guys", who took that spot when O and A didn't, were pretty good. They weren't O and A, but they held their own.

Don't know if they are still around or not, I moved on (well, East).

Larry Wachs took over the JV and Elvis Spot on Free Fm after O&A..
The Regular Guys were canned twice, Once for doing a bit called "backwards porn" where they had this porn star come in and record some raunchy stuff and they would play it backwards,only problem is someone fucked up and they aired some stuff that would make LILJimmy blush over a Toyota comercial. They came back a year later and had a beef with the local hispanic station hosts, Larry recorded the two hosts talking shit about them in the toilet and later aired it on the show. The two hosts pressed charges for invasion of privacy and some other crap and Larry was promptly arrested and the regular guys were canned by clear channel. Didnt matter that all the charges were dropped because he did nothing wrong, bottom line is clear channel has the same size balls as XM

Well, I gave it a try. I listened to the "morning show" on Dave FM this morning while driving to the office. ("DaveFM, where music maatters!" - yeah, well evidently where the personalities don't matter) Holy fuck......Holly and Orf reading the news......READING! I can buy a fucking newspaper and read the news. And Orf is the hole of the two, not Holly. These two Retardo MontoBahns are worse than any others' shows that O & A have ever played. (insert an "eeww" from Big Daddy James)

The bleeding has stopped from where I stuck the ice picks in the ears. I should have my heaing back by June 15th.
