When I called to cancel, one of the things the rep told me to do was email listener care, because they allegedly must respond in 24 hours. Well they responded 5 days later (which hopefully is a good sign as to how much backlog we're creating).
Anyway, the jerks finally responded, and apparantly they didn't really read my email because the response makes it sound like I was complaining about O&A and not about the suspension. Anyway, the response, followed by my initial email is below. Just another example of XM not listening to us.
Dear Joseph Armao,
Thank you for contacting XM Satellite Radio.
We are sorry for the late response to your email. Thank you for contacting us concerning the content you heard on XM.
We regret the inappropriate comments made on Wednesday's Opie & Anthony Show.
As a company, XM provides customers with tools to control what they listen to on XM. The Opie & Anthony Show appears on one of our explicit language channels (XL) which is clearly noted on the radio display and all our printed material. We also frequently mention within the program that the content may be inappropriate for certain listeners. Our service also provides our subscribers with the ability to 'block' channels that feature this type of content.
The responsibility that comes with the creative freedom that satellite radio provides must be taken very seriously. Opie and Anthony agree that this segment was inappropriate. They have apologized for these inappropriate comments and any offense this segment has caused.
Thank you for your feedback.
If we can be of further assistance, please feel free to send an additional email or you may contact a Listener Care Representative directly at 1-800-XM RADIO (800-967-2346). For commercial accounts, please contact 1-888-689-2300.
As always, visit our website at www.xmradio.com for all the latest news on XM Satellite Radio. Our Listener Care Centers hours of operation are as follows:
Monday-Saturday 6 AM - 2 AM ET
Sunday 8 AM - 8 PM ET
Thank you,
Jason

I became part of the "XM Nation" in October of 2004 for the express purpose of being able to listen to an uncensored Opie & Anthony show, free from the crippling content restrictions that have made terrestrial radio un-listenable. This is how XM was sold to me, and that is what I thought I've been paying for the past two and half years. Now, I find myself dismayed. You have allowed a vocal, agenda-driven minority to co-opt your promise of a broadcast free from regulation, and as a consumer of your product I simply will not stand for it. In my two and a half years as a subscriber, I've come to enjoy other facets of what XM has to offer, but to be perfectly frank, without Opie & Anthony, I have no reason to continue subscribing. I'll be very happy to take the money I'll be saving every month and invest in an I-pod.

How do you justify suspending a show that by all accounts is the most popular on the platform? How do you expect those same customers who made the Opie & Anthony Show the most listened-to show on XM to continue to pay for your services when you've now deprived us of the ability to listen to that show? How do you justify to your stockholders making a decision that is all but guaranteed to cause XM to hemorrhage paying subscribers? Finally, how do you put out a press release that simultaneously announces the suspension of the Opie & Anthony Show, along with the fact that the show is broadcast on an XL channel, and can be blocked by anyone who does not want to hear it?

I'm on hold with customer care right now and am about to inform them that I am canceling my subscription for the duration of Opie & Anthony's suspension. Beyond AM, beyond FM? Nope, AM and FM are still in my car. Good work
