Blame the internet, but I can't help it.
Don't care really either, since my copy's been pre-ordered for months.
It's scheduled for release June 05, 2007.
One of the last groups whose cd's I still buy, every time, and am never disappointed with.
This album is no different. I enjoyed it. But I'm biased and partial.
It did not fail to meet or exceed expectations at all. Every song is enjoyable. Front to back, song after song. From the first time you hear it. Long time fans of his work will agree.
The albums theme is "breaking up" or something.
The lyrics are well put together, and coming out of a 3 year relationship recently, they were easily to relate to to say the least.
His split from Dita Von Teese seems to sound liberating for him, and it showed in his approach to crafting the album material. Her inspiration is beyond evident.
The album isn't a metalish, industrialish, accompanied by light electronic tempos, like you'd expect from him. However, it's sound is immediately distinguishable as Manson.
At times, the album is quite bluesy, and it has no problem sitting right up there with antichrist, slc, and mechanical animals as his best works.
Him touring with Slayer this summer, also, is the best concert news since pantera and slayer toured with morbid angel in 2001.
