Anyone else going to check this out? Buncha guys, sittin' around telling sea stories? I'm down with that.

This four-part special invites the many fans of Deadliest Catch into a fishermen's bar in Seattle, Wash., where they can watch and listen to their favorite captains and deckhands tell the tales from their lives on the Bering Sea. After the Catch allows its viewers to witness these colorful characters together, on land, celebrating their exciting, dangerous and recently popular career. Sitting at the table with our heroic fishermen is Mike Rowe, friend to the crab fleet and host for After the Catch. In addition to showing footage never before seen on television, there will also be several surprise guests, including famous crab fisherman and storyteller Spike Walker, author of Coming Back Alive, Nights of Ice and Working on the Edge.

If you guys haven't read Spike's book, Working on The Edge (http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=910037304&searchurl=tn%3Dworking%2Bon%2Bthe%2Bedge%26sts%3Dt %26y%3D0%26x%3D0), it is INSANE. Great book.

Yeah, this looks really cool. The book does too, but every time I buy one they end up collecting dust. Words are stupid...

Even better will be when Sig and Phil get to run the farm, they'll teach that fucking whiny dwarf kid a lesson or two.

Who saw the preview with one of the greenhorns wanting off the Cornellia Marie, in the middle of the Berring Sea? You've got to be shitting me.

I think it was last season when a greenhorn on a ship without cameras went crazy, climbed the rail, and was headed over. They got him down and back to port. Managed to interview him on dock, he was pretty meek and ready to go home.

that was the big black kid, there is a new one that wants to go home, i dont understand how you could even suggest that, your on a boat to do a job that your being paid to do. you fucking do it, at least till you get back to port.

Love this shit. Even watch the same ones again and again.

Tempting the Bering Sea is never a wise move.

yeah, the first one was good.

They did a segment on the rescue missions that have been done by the helicopters...pretty insane shit. Got the tough boys tearing up a bit.

The funny thing is that they took a camera crew with them after he got off. The next night they caught a rogue wave that put the boat on it's side and stalled out both engines. All caught on tape. If he was still onboard, he would have punched out at that point:action-sm

Talk about reality TV, that's the beauty of this show. No immunity challenge or idol or any of that bullshit. One bad wave and its game over Johnny.

Watched it and enjoyed it, but after awhile I couldn't handle Mike Rowe trying to assimilate himself into being a real Fisherman. I usually enjoy his work, but I believe he thinks he is becoming a boat captain just because he grew a beard to look more like one.

i noticed that my self, but i think he was doing it to help control the conversations flow, its a good skill to have when dealing with that kind of crowd, those guys would start to tie a load on and would go off into never never land if mike wasnt there kind of steering them along. also i dont know if you noticed that he was wearing an ear piece so he could have had several directors and producers in an other room yapping at him to do things what i would like to see is the un cut versions and raw footage,
