Just saw Pirates 3 this morning.... 10:35 AM show, got out at 1:42 PM. Granted, we stayed through the extremely long credits because there is a bonus scene after the credits.

I enjoyed it, just like I did the other two...

Did it have subtitles? I can't understand a single word of dialogue in those pirate movies.

watch the second again before you see this one. the plot is impossible to follow unless you remember everything about the second one.

Yeah. If you have Starz, it's new to the free On-Demand section.

It was a good movie but just a warning for parents with smaller children- It seemed to be a lil' more violent and graphic than the 1st 2.

Saw Pirates 3 last night and was a bit disappointed. The ending kinda sucked.

Saw it Thursday, 8:00 P.M. show. All I have to say is out of all three it was my favorite. Much more violent than the first two, Jack was great as ever, the ocean battle toward the end was very, very good, awesome swashbuckling scenes, and as said before the ending was O.K., but not terrible.

Definately worth checking out.

Saw it Thurs at midnight, really liked it. Jack in Davy Jones' Locker was great.
Didn't know about the part after the credits and left. Anyone feel like pm'ing me or posting what it was?

I read on multiple sources that it was by far the WORST one of the "trilogy." Really really bad reviews... and I shamefully believed them. I always wait for shit to come out on video anyways. Haven't seen a movie in theatres since Spiderman.... 1. Maybe it was Pirates of the Carribean 1, whichever came last.

I only just watched the 2nd movie this week so I think that let me enjoy the third one even more. I didn't know that there was an extra part at end. That sucks, but the movie was long but full of great action. There was really no long dull part in the movie. So I say if you saw the second one you have to see the last one. If not go see the second one before seeing the new one.

I'm going to have to go back to see it again. What I saw was good, but I was sitting so close to the screen that I couldn't follow a lot of it, especially the action scenes. 1st row seat = ice pack on the neck the next day.

ok i thought Gore Verbenski directed this not Sam Raimi and David Lynch's love child. what an odd odd follow up

I never saw Pirates 1 or Pirates 2. Yet the idea of sitting in a theater for three hours strangely appeals to me. Is it worth seeing?

Stupid movies. Why is nothing out now?

Pirates 1, is one of my favorite summer movies of all time. I hated this one.

Pirates 1, is a simple story, Barbarosa stole haunted gold, they need to return it. There's a bit of romance, and Jack getting back to being a captain, that's really it.

The 2nd one was pretty complicated and the third one made it even worse. Half the movie was talk of "if I do this, then I'll hand so and so over to you, then I can have the Black Pearl, then Davey Jones will die". Everyone is trying to plan on how to screw over someone else, The East India Trading Co, Will, Jack, Barbosa, Davey Jones, Calypso, it just went in fucking circles.

The opening/the shangai scenes were cool. The Kieira Knightley stuff was cool, the ending 25 minutes were really cool, everything else pretty much stunk.

What is so wrong with keeping it simple? I know I usually feel the exact opposite, but the box office proves it, if 2 and 3 were simpler this new one would be making more money.

I do hope they make a 4th, but let's just have an A and B story, and a couple super minor sub plots, that's all it needs, cool action, couple references to the ride, and people will be happy.

And who ever said you can't understand half the dialog is exactly right, so many the lines are more clunky then anything in Star Wars, and the accents make it hard to understand.

Goddamn son of a bitch it never fails. I always miss bonus scenes at the end of movies. I'll probably check it out again if I'm really bored.

Supposedly Depp and Verbinsky both signed on for a 4th. No idea about anyone else.

After the end credits:

10 years later, Elizabeth and her son (her and Will's) are standing on a cliff. The kid is singing that pirate song, the sky flashes green and the Flying Dutchman surfaces. You see Will leaning over the edge of the Dutchman, smiling.

Took my nephew to see it this weekend. We watched 2 earlier in the day, which helped because as long as it is, there was little or no character development, they kind of expect you to be up to speed walking in to the theater.

As long as it was, I did think they wrapped up some threads a little abruptly.

Overall though, I liked it, laughed through the whole thing, and actually thought they did a decent job with the ending.

I screwed up with Pirates 3. Pirates 1 & 2 just came out on Blu-ray disc last week and I was wating on my shipment from Amazon. I took Friday off, so I decided to go catch a matinee, even though I hadn't re-watched 1 & 2 yet. Although I was able to follow the movie, after subsequently re-watching 1 & 2 over the weekend after the discs arrived (which, BTW, have the best picture quality of any high definition discs (HD DVD or Blu-ray) that I've seen so far), I realized that there were a lot of things that I missed while watching POTC 3, that I would have caught had I re-watched POTC 2 first.

I only saw 2 the one time in the theater, so I was lost at a few points in the movie... I don't think that really had much bearing on the fact that I didn't really like it. It was way too long. It did redeem itself in the end a bit though.

Just finished watching Pirates 3. My kid "pirated" it for me so I got to see it
at home on my laptop. I loved it. I may just go and see it in the theatre
before it's gone.
