This was the sign I saw at the Throgs Neck Bridge toll plaza today, coming back from Pa.
Not that I would, but Wally World was selling fireworks as if they were toys. Not that I know someone that did, but there are some in NY now.
What amazes me is that there is such strong enforcement for fireworks in NY, but then DWI, vehicular manslaughter (in higher degrees), driving with no insurance, etc don't have penalties as large as driving with fireworks in your car.

Yea what's even more stupid is the fact that while fireworks are illegal here in Pa, out of state folks can buy them. They have firework stores all over Pa but we residents can't go in. Figure that one out.
I can tell you one thing though, around the 4th of July, NJ has police watching the fireworks stores right over the border in pa and then once you cross into Nj, the State police are waiting to pull the cars ove right at that truck check point around mile marker 3 in NJ on 80.

Wait, so the Walmart that's selling said fireworks in value packs can't sell to Pa residents?
All they asked customers for is DOB, then said customer was on his/her way.

Probably something like NC law, where only certain ones are prohibited.

no there are Pa "legal" fire works, they suck. mostly sparklers and fountains, but certain stores are allowed to sell the real ones to out of state buyers, what sucks is some of the places card people when they go in, so even though i know plenty of people from out of state i cant go in and pick out what i want.

There are two different kind of fireworks for sale. One kind are the crap ones that don't really do anything, they usually just smoke or make a noise. Those are the ones you can buy in any store in pa. The good , regular fireworks are only sold in the firework stores like Phantom Fireworks and Pa residents are not allowed to even go in the stores. All there business are the out of state residents who come in for the weekend.

Yep, sounds like our shitty laws. Right across the border in South Carolina are alot of fireworks stores, but the police camp the roads around the 4th to keep people from smuggling them across.

the fuckers use confiscated cars with PA plates, then use the "Delaware river port authority police" to pull people over on the bridges, the drp has jurisdiction on both sides of the river, and can be total dick heads

Yea, every year I go down to South Carolina and stock up on fireworks to bring back to Pa where there are stores on every corner selling the stuff but I can't buy any. Go figure.
It's so gay that fireworks are illegal. Entirely gay.

One run for fireworks led us to Chinatown in NYC. Purchased a shitload of stuff from a nice Italian boy with the approval of the local Triad, and wreaked havoc with it. Crashed a party or two and forced one neighboring party to flee into their house after a li'l battle broke out.

It's funny you say that because the next flash on the bulletin was some statistic about injuries related to fireworks.
Fucking gay.

You can order fireworks online in some states. the kicker is the $200 or $300 dollar hazardous material shipping charge

Everytime I shoot off fireworks something goes wrong. Just the other night I tried to shoot off one, it didn't go up in the air instead fell to the ground and exploded and sent flames all over the neighbors yard. Had to apoligize. Felt like an ass.

There are a few of those fireworks places kinda near me that opened up a few years ago. A whole lot of bitching took place, some towns passed new ordinances to close the loophole that allowed these places to open in the first place.
For those who don't know, the PA State Police does similar enforcement details involving beer/liquoir purchased right over the bridge in NJ. So, if you cross the bridge to hit Roger Wilco or Canal's, take a scenic drive someplace in NJ and perhaps take another bridge home.
Anyone who thinks I am making this up, click here (http://http://www.psp.state.pa.us/blce/cwp/browse.asp?a=3&bc=0&c=61735&blceNav=|#BorPat).

That is fucking ridiculous. What a waste of time and resources. They are fireworks, not blocks of C-4 or anything worth wasting time with.
I think that's excessive punishment, a violation of the Constitution. Transporting truck loads of bootlegged alcohol and kilos of cocaine are what those laws were made for basically, not fireworks.
You can have just about anything here in AR except for the obvious Cherry Bombs.

I thought a car became a deadly weapon after a DWI, and you automatically lose it in NY?

Depending on the county, the laws were/are so flawed that it didn't take much to contest it. It's possible they could have strengthened them, but no one is afraid of losing their cars out here.
