I've been playing a lot of nintendo games from the link in the "Cool Websites" thread, it got me to remember this one movie...
I've searched all the search engines and didn't find anything.

The movie was about these young kids who were playing Mario Brothers 3 I believe, and they were going around the U.S maybe competing in tournaments?
I remember maybe the kid who was really good didn't ever talk or something, or someone close to him died...?
I distinctly remember a scene with a bridge, like someone jumped or it was the GSBridge?

Anyway, I remember watching it when I was like 6 so my memories are a little hazy. I remember the big thing was that it was going to show cheats and special moves (Since the kids were really really good in the movie)

I can't find a thing on this, so I've either made this whole scenario up, which scares me, or maybe it was a tv movie or something. Anyone remember? It's driving me nuts.

Yes, that's it, stupid Fred Savage.
Gracias.

I'm not insane. How'd you remember this awfulness?

"Corey and Jimmy Woods are two brothers who are being separated due to their parents divorcing. Jimmy is a mentally unstable kid that has had problems ever since his sister died at a young age."

- Pretty close

'Twas The Wizard.

Interesting little tidbit, the chick from the Wizard became the lead singer in the band Rilo Kiley

Little gift called photographic memory....I am cursed, I see a movie or tv show once and I remember it.
Only Thing worse was "Over the Top" Starring Stallone about a trucker trying to win the love of his estranged son through an Arm Wrestling Tournament.

Ah yes, the Wizard. The first time anyone got a glimpse of Super Mario Brothers 3 and the now infamous Power Glove.

"Bull" Hurley was the nemesis of Stallone (and that is without cheating)

what I liked about the Wizard is that it showed how to exploit autism for material gain.

Damn, you beat me to it. Before "Rain Man"! Wizard was a year later but it's so much more gosh darn adorable when it's little kids doing it than Tom Cruise. Also, I thought the moral of the Wizard was to continue to use these children while Rainman pussied out.

Damn almost a year to the date...odd You really have to give so much credit to the exec who figured out how to combine Rainman with an hour and a half long commercial for SMB3.

There was another one that I never saw, but remember the poster... along the same lines of The Wizard about video game competition around the same time....

Jenny Lewis, I hear her solo on Americana stations a lot.

I rented The Wizard a couple years ago, watched it on a first date with a girl. We also saw Rock And Roll High Forever.
