Barnes & Noble in Carle Place had it hidden in the back of the store in the humor section. I expected to see it up front with all the other new releases .... maybe it'll be moved up on its "official" release date?
FYI - If you go to barnesandnoble.com and put in your zip code, you'll find out which of the stores are already selling it & which aren't. From what it looks like, the bigger stores are already selling it while the smaller ones aren't. The two at the malls, which are smaller than the one in Carle Place & Huntington, show it as not in stock while Carle Place & Huntington do.

The DC Barnes and Noble has the event listed on their website,
http://storelocator.barnesandnoble.com/storedetail.do?store=2673
Quick Directions
On the corner of M Street NW and Thomas Jefferson Street, east of Wisconsin Avenue.
The closest Metro stop is Foggy Bottom, then you walk up Pennsyvlania and it runs into M street. There might be a shuttle, too (http://www.georgetowndc.com/mapit/771) .
The store is right near the Georgetown Park shopping mall, which has pay for parking, and there are several public lots near M + Wisconsin.

I went to the one in NY last night...you buy the book first and then wait in line for the boys to show. It was GREAT - they were really gracious about taking pictures, etc...I've put a few of them below.

I'm not sure if they'd hassle you or not for bringing one in and not buying it in THEIR store...they might think you just picked one up off the rack and went on line - I bought it right before and kept my receipt in the book, just in case anyone asked if I had bought it or not.

I showed up yesterday for the 6:00 signing at 4:00 - I was the second person on line. By 5:30, it was packed, and the majority of the line was waiting outside in the hot, sticky weather - probably for a while, too.

I was killing a little time in Barnes and Noble and saw a little sign advertising Jimmys book signing 7/13 7:30Pm. Got the book, funny as hell. I had to take it on myself to make it more noticeable, putting Nortons smiling face in more prominent places, such as over the many copies of Hillarys book.

VERY doubtful. The signing is on a Tuesday night in Chicago, and I'm not sure what his schedule is like. I'm assuming he'll fly in Tuesday afternoon, do the signing, then take a late flight back. I emailed E-Rock to see if there is any possibility that the entire show might come out and broadcast on Wednesday morning, but I would imagine they would have said something by now.
HOWEVER...
Zanies comedy club has on their website a "Comedy Central Special Event" planned for that night, no idea what that could be... so you never know.

Checkin in to see who will be attending the Chicago book signing.
Any info from those who have already gone on what time we should get there? I'll be driving in from Detroit and want to figure when to make the long ass drive.

New Jim Norton Book Signing Dates:
Jimmy sent a bulletin to those who are on his MySpace friends list:
From: Jim Norton
Date: Jul 20, 2007 12:00 PM
Subject: Number 4 on NY Times Best Seller List
Body: Thanks to all of you who bought my book already. I am currently number 4 on the NY Times Best Seller List. Hopefully some of you who still don't have it will buy it and keep me on that list.
I am looking forward to seeing a bunch of you tomorrow night at The Traveling Virus show in Mansfield, MA. I will be signing books in the Village there between 6 - 7pm. I will be signing the books that people buy at the venue first. This is not to be a dick, rather a way to thank the book store that is coming out to support me on a weekend that Harry Potter is being released.
I also want to let everyone know that I will be doing a book signing in Carle Place, NY (Long Island) next Thursday at 7:30pm at Barnes & Noble (91 Old Country Road).
I also will be doing a signing in Detroit on August 3rd, the night before our Traveling Virus show out there. Stay tuned for more details.
Thanks again to everyone for all your support.

Anybody here going to the Carle Place signing? I'm going...I just called the store today to ask if I could bring my copy I purchased from Amazon (I know some stores' policies will only allow you to buy it there to get an autograph). But not the case here so see you all Thursday! :)
bump.

Is there anyone else going to the book signing who also have tickets to the John Mayer show at the Colliseum? Im trying to figure out if I can goto both because I wanna a) buy the book, b) meet Jimmy and have him sign it obviously and c) get a picture with him, but I dont know if I can. The ticket for the show says 7pm, but Im almost positive that means the doors and the show actually starts around 8pm or so (Doors and whatnot). I thought I could MAYBE do it when the signing was first announced at 7pm, but 7:30pm? Anyone else think its possible...and by possible, I mean, does anyone think they'd wanna let me cut you so I can get the book signed and bail and maybe get there on time? :icon_wink Im planning on getting to the bookstore at like, 5pm or earlier if I finally decide to try it, but yeah. I dont know.

if you're on your way now and just read this, you'll probably see her on/in line...she'll smell like Snuggles and have a stain on her shoulder, but just ignore it i guess...dont be an ass, she volunteered; I didnt ask her to go - I think thats pretty fucking awesome. I played her his Christopher Reeves bit so she knew what she was getting herself into and she laughed at it.

Since I live in Texas I can't make it to a signing but...
I did go to buy the book today and Book People in Austin say's its on back order at the publisher due to popularity and underestimated sales.
Jimmy can get a great hooker when the dust settles from this one.

Are there any book signings in DC?

My beautiful loving wife purchased Happy Endings for my birthday present. I read the inside cover and began crying with laughter. Best birthday gift ever. It made being 40 a big slice of pie ) It doesn't matter if I ever get this book signed, I am just so glad I own a copy.
