Yeah i'm not bashing Ron, I pretty much think that ron is better then opie and stern has Radio "hosts" and he's funnier then Jimmy and Anthony, well I think its a tie between Anthony and Ronnie B.
not sure what the stern part
in your post means
Absolutely

First off, I hate when Ron and Fez have guests. I'd love the show to never have another guest again. I agree, it's boring, but it's not because of Ron's interviewing. Guests are my least favorite part of Ona and Rnf, even with Howie years ago.
It's because there is a general lack of interest in any guest they have ever had. I have an interest in Lou Reed, but there's only so many Food Network housewives and documentarians you can listen to.
I think Ron's interviewing is actually really great, he asks a lot of questions and gets in to stuff that could be interesting, and that others don't normally go to. But like I said the problem is the people who are giving the answers.
Would a man who isn't a fabulous interviewer be Unmasking comics two at a time?
and ronnie has a lot less talent around
whereas opie has a lot of options
opie is in more of a keep the show on track position guy
ronnie has to do all the heavy lifting
every fucking day
but ope's great at what he does

Hate him or not, he is a great radio host..you'd have to be stupid not to realize that, opie and anthony admit it all the time that they used to be fans....

Ron like doesn't fuck with the guests as much as Opie would ya know? Ron actually asks serious questions and it gets boring, if the guest sucks....he only has so much to work with.

My take on Ron B.... the cats smart,,, been around the block..... he lowers himself to bits...
A better R&F show would drop the silly bits and discuss life. RB is like Ant in that he has the intelligence to discuss real issues.
My guess id half the audience are real people,,, the rest watch wrastlin... your call RB.
Hate him or not, he is a great radio host..you'd have to be stupid not to realize that, opie and anthony admit it all the time that they used to be fans....
wasn't questioning anyone's opinion of hoo hoo

Ron and Fez aren't like Howard or Opie and Anthony. They are completely different shows.
While not a big fan of guests, I would rather hear Ron ask serious questions than hear Opie shit on the star wars guy or toothpick guy, but know that he will pussy out for Whoopi or Haim and Feldman because they still have some juice. If you can only go after the weak and unsuspecting, you aren't really a badass, you are just sad.

This thread is retarded.
Ron is a good interviewer, and clearly is interested in most of the people he interviews. Some of them do go on a bit long for my tastes, but that's usually when it's a guest I don't care about.
Why should he shit on the guests? That's almost as absurd as the time that people wanted to give Ramone calls to the Legendary director they had (whose name escapes me).. Also, they're NOT Opie and anthony, they shouldn't be expected to act the same way. It's a different show, that isn't as fast-paced and aggressive.
My only problem with interviews, is I don't like hearing them so often in Best of.

Bret Michaels was a great guest on O&A this morning. Bret used the phrase "Gacked Up" it would have been a perfect interview with Ron.

nobody - but you don't think they HAD to take that interview? Ron turned shit into lemonade.

They've done that before. FOR YEARS. Iris, Andre The Giant, Jan Brady, George Washington Carver, all of them... As much as I love Jimmy, those bits made me laugh more than Ramon.
But they don't do that type of show anymore. So if you want to hear it, go download it.

This thread sucks Earl's cock. Seriously. The entire premise and point is flawed and gay.
Ron is the only person I've ever listened to who can take a horrible guest and turn it into fucking GOLD. He is about the best interviewer I've ever heard, especially when he's interviewing someone connected to something he's personally interested in.

Ron is the most brilliant voice I've heard coming from my radio, ever. I don't have strong feelings about his interviewing skills in any regard, because he makes me LOL everyday and he makes me think about who i am and how I view and treat others. He is one of the only entertainment personalities that is truly his own person, an actual independent thinker. i can only wish that i could be as intelligent, level-headed, slow-to-judge, and mature as he is. With no exaggeration i can say he is my paradigm for manhood. If there's been shitty interviews, who cares? DaVinci had a hard time painting smiles, but it doesn't detract from his genius.

I honestly think Ron is a fantastic interviewer and easily the best on 202. He's intelligent, thoughtful, he goes deep, asks questions most people wouldn't ask, legitimate questions about a person's career. It might be a more "adult" interview but he's amazing at it.

I think its a problem with the guests, either they click or they don't. Nick Cave is great if you are into it (he runs hot and cold for me, Murder Ballads is genius), but it's pulling teeth for an interview. I think thats why the interview was short and they played three songs. Ron knew he wasn't going to get a whole lot, so he just went with it and kept it short.
The Food Network winner was probably to forfill an obligation with the Food Network for being on the show. The previous winner, Guy Forget-his-last-name, was pretty interesting a couple of months back with the discussion of dive/trash food places.
Alot of the guests aren't cool hipsters, but they can usually be interesting. Much like on the Daily Show/Colbert report. They usually just have authors which can be a who-cares interview, but if the guest and the interviewer click it's really interesting.
I'm primarily an O&A fan, but I recently started listening to R&F. One thing that I like is who it's not just another show like O&A and it does have a completely different feel to it.

i hope this thread is some silly attempt at some bit, but ron is the best interviewer around. all you have to do is listen to when he interviewed the dude from animal house about his dopey indy film. pulled the interview questions out of thin air and it was phenomenal.
ron doesn't prepare one thing and it just works. natural and interesting.
and unmasked was fantastic. ronnie b rules.

I didn't even have it on my Ipod, I forgot how great it is.

When O&A interview a guest, they are still doing the O&A show. They add the guest to the show, and sometimes it works well like Jovovich and Beckinsale did.
Other times they get a toothpick guy.
Ron never brings the guest into the show. The show stops and a very professional interview starts.
I like it, it adds a whole different dimension to the show. I usually enjoy the interviews.

the problem is that Ron Bennington is too smart for his own good. Whenever he encounters someone who has never been inclined to eat his own shit or see a 16-year old shrink, he just becomes so overwhelmed at the prospect of having an actual adult conversation that he forgets he's doing a radio show and just starts talking like the mature, intelligent man he is in real life.

hycue?...Alquada?...Christ Glen you could be the worst speller on this board
I think like most interviews if the interviewer isn't interested then its not going to go well...Ron rides it based on his level of interest...
hycue?...Alquada?...Christ Glen you could be the worst speller on this board
Perhaps a bit more than that...
From my perspective, and I doubt alot of people share it, the interviews are one of the key elements that separate this show from others. I enjoy the interviews, especially interviews from various people with different insights into life. I would believe that Ron B. does good interviews with people he may not necessarily be intrigued by.
