His "retard" personality is an act that is easy to see through (as opposed to the 'Fez' character which has a lot of realism in it) and he has nothing original to say. He also exaggerates his act too much and it becomes annoying (like yelling over the top when getting spanked - good for Opie for calling him out). Anything that he says that's original is silly to the point of pointlessness; and when he tries to add to a conversation without being silly he has nothing to say (remember when Ron let him sit in when Fez went to the hospital and all he could do is go 'yeah, this sucks', 'wow, i mean, wow jeez'?). He also makes it all about him whenever he's on mic. He also sounds like he's looking for approval with everything he says. And the most annoying thing about him is that he makes me turn the show off (don't tell me that no one cares if I turn the show off - I know that already).
Yeah I know he ate shit etc, but he did it to get a reaction for people to go "wow, that Dave is crazy" and not because he wanted to make an interesting 'war' b/w that 2 shows.

It would take me all night to list my reasons for hatred, but for the most part, everyone already has listed them. His stupidity, ignorance and lack of comprehension goes beyond the point of irritation. He lies more than a $3.00 crack whore, he has zero knowledge of any subject, and when proven wrong he still tries to say he's right.

Some of his best smashings were played during vacation. I took him in small doses, but my last straw and absolute hatred for him developed the day he admitted to the dog fucking (yeah yeah, I know he said he didn't but who can believe his lies), I called in under my real name and told him that since he claims to be Catholic, he had just admitted to a Cardinal Sin. Even after I was proven correct, dog fucker came back and tried to say that; "He didn't think it was a Cardinal Sin, so he was safe", sorry dog fucker, you don't get to pick and choose, the man in the white robe (and I dont mean Ant getting ready for a KKK rally) who will greet him at the pearly gates has the final say so.

Oh yeah, and today his "inventions", for the first time ever I will back up HTG (yeah hell froze over), the "shurse" has been around for at least 20 years. My HS girlfriend had one mad out of denim, my wife currently has a leather one made by 'Chanel" and her bestfriend has one made by Gucci. But, dogfucker can't ever admit that he's wrong about anything.

Dave is alright. From what others have said he's great on the phones and he takes care of the staff (other than the recent moving fiasco) and tries to help the interns learn some useful things. If I ever went to a Ron & Fez event, Dave is the first person from the show I'd feel comfortable saying hello to. He's a regular guy who just happens to not mind eating shit and mutilating his body with tattoos (before I get flamed, I don't consider all tattoos mutilation).

On-air Dave is pretty funny when he and Earl have completely conflicting stories and they are calling each other liars. It's one of my favorite bits. I will admit he's a pretty fun guy to "hate", though.

If you as a listener enjoy this version of R&F where Dave goes on mic for 3/4th of the show and babbles so that people turn around and look at him, then you shouldn't even comment on this forum because while being on the R&F show, Dave does not add anything to it. He takes away Fez's air time and ruins the flow of Ron and Fez as a radio team every time Ron and Fez start to get a nice discussion going. Then the more I listened to the show, and really started becoming a fan, the more I heard this idiot, with his stupid stories, and trying to be really edgy. But all he was being was an obnoxious punk who was trying to sound holier than thou, and trying to make the show all about him. In the past 6 months, sadly, I have barely listed to R and F, becuase its not really the Ron and Fez show anymore. Its the Ron and ESD and whenever ESD lets Fez say something show. And I think that truly sucks, becuase I really got a lot of enjoyment for about a year and 4 months from the Ron and Fez show. For him to be able to make a career out of a few stories about him fucking jelly, getting bad tattoos, and letting a dog lick his balls, is totally non-comprehendable to me. I think it was fine when they gave him some air time every now and then, but to have him be part of the radio show for almost the entire 3 hours, every day, is something else. If you started with Earl and Harry, you missed quite a few years so you must mean Day One on XM. I'm not the biggest fan of Earl or Harry either, but I was listening as far back as the NEW days (so not the real day one for me, either) and while it wasn;t always my cup of tea, it far outshone the morning zoo dreck that ESD brings.

Really, coming in at the Earl and Harry phase is unfortunate for you. That's like coming into MASH when Winchester came aboard and liking it, but not understanding why people bemoaned the days of Frank Burns.

Those "shitty lemons" are only there because Dave wants attention to himself. If you enjoy listening to a guy who has no confidence in ANYTHING he says try to get approval and attention from Ron and Fez, then great, enjoy this current version of the R&F show. When Dave says something (anything) he says it to see if it will get a reaction in terms of people reacting to HIM, or he says it to try and be funny in terms of people thinking that HE is funny. If this was the Dave show, I would have no problem with it because then it would be the point for Dave to get attention to himself. Since this is the Ron and Fez show, I don't think it's good radio to have some producer try to get more air time because he needs attention and approval. Nothing he says is genuine in terms of what he feels and thinks (ok, 75% of what he says). That's why I and others who understand what I'm talking about can't stand him. He adds nothing to the SHOW, but brings attention to HIMSELF.
The listeners who like Dave like him only because they can't hear how desperate Dave is for attention and actually believe that all the crap he says is genuine thought and not there for attention getting purposes (Dave freaking out at intern Jared is one of those times where Dave is yelling like a moron trying to sound like he's really mad, when he wasn't). Ron and Fez like Dave because he is entertaining to watch in studio. That's why Anthony started to like him since he sees him around the studio and at the gatherings.

This is also why I feel Harry was better. He was a guy who wanted to stay behind the scenes and didn't care about being on air. When Ron would let him get on mic, you heard a real/genuine ass who couldn't put two sentences together and who sounded like a moron. That's what made him good. He was himself. Dave wants to be on air and he tries too hard to be the "oh look at me I'm wacky guy who does anything; now I'll yell at someone for no reason because that's what the wacky crazy guy does". It's annoying and it adds nothing to the show.

Took them 4 months to find a Dr. who would do the procedure, but they did it. He kept them in for a year then had them removed. No Dave is radio hack and radio stupidity. The true downside is R&F have let it go to Dave's head, someday his head will burst and the world will end for him.

Back at WNEW, Fezzie was gold, now with all of his problems he hardly ever says anything, and sometimes when he does Ron will pretty much shut him up by switching to something different. Last week when we had "manic" Fez was great. I agree that Dave over steps his bounds , and should sometimes shut the hell up, but Ronnie needs someone else to bring something else to the show. Sorry, but I have to totally disagree with this statement. The Genius of RB is his timing, quick witting humor, and in my opinion, his strongest point is his interviewing skills when interviewing celebreties. I think ESD's presnce is nothing but a drain on the show. He is "certainly and reliably wrong" becuase he chooses to be, so he can try to get all the attention.

After I wrote my post yesterday, I started listening to the listening stream, and in my opinion, I proved my own point. I started listening at 1:35 pm, and as soon as I turned it on, I heard ESD talking about text messages on his cell phone. Fast forward 30 minutes, ESD was still on the air, this time talking about his marriage. Fast forward another 30 minutes , and he was STILL talking. During this time, Fez barely got a word in, and he was stepping all over Ron's lines.

I think most everyone actually gets it. I know that I do. The whole bit itself though is what sucks. If I wanted to hear the type of bit that ESD brings to the show I would just go over and listen to some hacky radio show like Rover's Morning Glory and listen to thier ridiculous naive stunt boy. I used to not mind dave and thought that the midnight rider gimic was great but i can barely tolerate him anymore. Board gossip used to be funny when Ron would rip it apart but now it is just the same shit every week and Guy Guyerson is following the same path. The best shows are when Dave just answers the phone. When he was going on today about Fez and Mikey D I just wanted to smash his head. Bottom line, he hurts the show more than he helps.
