Anyone have any ideas for groomen gifts? Something good you got, something you've given? Was trying not to be too cheesy was also trying to get the same thing for each one but i don't thinks that's possible, it's a large party (10) so they are pretty diverse. Any thoughts as i wait for the onslaught of "dude don't do it" responses?

I have been in a ton of weddings, and I have had one of my own. I have recieved the following as gifts for being in a wedding party, or have given these myself

pocket watch with my initials in the back
tie to wear with the tuxedo for the wedding
huge beer stein with my initials engraved in it
huge beer mug with my initials engraved in it
wooden box type thing to hold watches with my initials engraved in it (my gift to my groomsmen)
pint glass with initials engraved in it (my gift to my groomsmen)
framed poster of favorite sports team with scoreboard that said had your name digitally photoshopped into it.
Fossil watch with my initials engraved into the back.
Money clip with my initials engraved into the back.
Tickets to a Mets Game

As you can see, engraving stuff seems to be what a lot of people go for

My best friend got us all the small (20cl/200ml) bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label... greatest gift ever.

My brother-in-law got us all personalized tool boxes with a few goodies inside. Not a bad one either... but nothing beats Blue Label.

I picked up a badass set of knives for my cousin. They were in the gift thingy & everyone else bought pots & pans. They were really happy with em.

Otherwise, just pick up some condoms or that fake vagina thing.

My brother only had 2 in his party, and did the engraved flask & pocket watches. He's received an engraved beer mug for the one wedding he was in. Beyond that, I have no clue. I've been lucky & haven't been in a bridal party. Ever. :)

I've received an engraved flask (everyone's was filled with their preferred alcohol - mine had Jack)

another friend gave everyone engraved Leatherman multi-tools. Good ones aren't cheap and are always useful, so it was very appreciated.

Engraving or personalization is key.

I know. That's why when my brother was talking about getting engaged I made it VERY clear that I would not be the least upset if I wasn't in the wedding. If they wanted me, fine. If not, no big deal. The party was small (2 on each side) and aw, shucks, no room for me! :icon_mrgr

I made a wooden box lined with felt that held a hand turned pen, pencil, letter opener, and magnifying glass which I also made. I went to Things Remembered in a mall and had metal plaques engraved with the guys' names and my wedding date.

Edit: Dug out the pic and scanned it.

For our wedding, we gave all the groomsmen who played poker a case of 500 chips (this was back before you could buy they everywhere). For the ones who didnt play poker, we gave the lawyer who was starting out on his own an engraved desk thingy, and the golfer got some engraved golf thing. i think the engraving was key for the other people, but I wouldn't get the wedding date engraved.

You don't have to get everybody the same thing, I think it's more important to get them something they'd use. Which would be especially hard since you have 10 people in your wedding to find one thing for everybody. My brother got an engraved coffee travel mug at a wedding where half the groomsmen didn't even drink coffee. I don't think he even has it still. They were purchased because they were in the price range for their large bridal party. Which goes to show, don't scrimp on the gift because you felt the need to have an extra large wedding party, you should still aim to spend about $100+pp on the gift, especially considering how much they are spending by being in your wedding.

My brother just got married a couple weeks ago and he gave me and other groomsmen gifts that reflected either are personalities or are interests. For me, I got DVD copies of the 300 and the Guns of Navarone, a book about the Persian-Greek Wars, and a Family Guy poster. The best man got a flask that was engraved and Bret the Hitman Hart action figure, because that was his favorite wrestler. The best thing about the gifts was my brother said he made sure he gave gifts that he knew that were going to be better than his bride's gifts to her bridesmaids.

If it wasn't for Fez I would have gotten a bottle of Blue Label for my dad's 75th birthday.

Maybe you could buy them all quilts.

I've never been in a wedding, and I never got married, but obviously I got some ideas:

If you wanna get them all the same thing, get them all watches or flasks with booze or money clips or something. If you don't wanna get them all the same thing, get them something you know they'll like. Like if there's someone who loves video games, get them a Wii or a DS or a gift card to EB Games/Gamestop or something.

If I was getting married, I'd do the flask thing (cause all my friends drink) and I'd get them gift cards to stores I know they'd shop in.
