So tonight I watched the UFC fight night and Terry Martin was sponsered by Man-Douche-Cow. Joe Lauzon, who is suppose to be a fellow wackbagger is fighting next in Jersey at UFC 78 on November 17th. How about Wackbag or O&A sponser him in his next fight and get our name on his trunks. I'm willing to throw in some money. J-Lo if you're on here, how much to get wackbag.com on your trunks?

well here's what you do...
1. contact joe and/or his management and get a figure
2. email EVERYONE from the show, danny, than, steve etc.
3. If 2 fails PM the mods here and let them know the price and the deadline
4. set up a paypal account

Personally, I'd be down for kicking in twenty-five to fifty dollars.

heres the money break down
$2000
800 people = $2.50
400 people = $5
200 people = $10
150 people = $13.33
100 people = $20
50 people = $40
25 people = $80
10 people = $200
5 people = $400
lets get on this people...it can be done

I would like to make a donation in the name of Ted Danson. ;)
That aside, this may be the cheapest Wackbag could get him if all goes well for him. He's now committed to doing this for a living:
"Joe Lauzon will face Jason Reinhardt in November at UFC 78 in New Jersey. From The Fight Network:
The day that Joe Lauzon can call himself a full-fledged professional fighter has finally arrived. This Friday (Aug 3), the 23-year-old Bridgewater, Mass. native cuts the shackles of his nine-to-fiver as an IT network administrator at a Cambridge-based software development company. Lauzon will then set sail for Hilo, Hawaii to begin a two-and-a-half month training camp with former UFC welterweight champion B.J. Penn. The Team Aggression/Bishop Boxing representative will seek the guidance of the pound-for-pound favorite for his Nov. 17 lightweight match-up against Jason Reinhardt at UFC 78 in Newark, N.J.
Reinhardt has an undefeated 18-0 MMA record last winning defeating Theodore Reynol by TKO at Courage Fighting Championships 8. Initially he was to make his UFC debut against Roger Huerta at UFC 63 but was forced withdraw from the bout due to injury.
Lauzon appeared on The Ultimate Fighter 5 and has 2 UFC appearances under his belt defeating Jens Pulver and Brandon Melendez."

just in case anyone who doesnt follow mma or the mma thread here, Joe Lauzon first signed onto wackbag after Bob Kelly was in studio, talking about mma, and Joe tried calling into the show. I guess the screeners didnt believe he was actually a fighter in the UFC
so he signed on here, and we looked up some old interviews he did, where in a couple of them he said he had XM and was a fan of O and A. thats the background to the story.

Thanks Guys. Here is an update
http://joelauzon.com/images/random/gym%20100307_46Gym1100307_500w.jpg
When Joe Lauzon participated in the Ultimate Fighter season five reality show, it gave him a chance to receive some world class mixed-martial-arts training from former UFC Champions, BJ Penn and Jens Pulver. Since Lauzon already stopped Pulver in his UFC debut, he volunteered himself to be a part of Penn’s team. Under Penn, Lauzon thrived and a bond was made between to the two fighters. This lead to Penn inviting Lauzon to come to Hawaii for extended training. Will this move pay off as Lauzon will fight undefeated Jason Reinhardt at UFC 76: Validation in Newark, New Jersey? Here is what Lauzon told ADCC News in this Q&A.

This has nothing to do with the boys. This is more from support from baggers for a fellow bagger. Granted if the boys get something out of it, then great, but they arent the ones doing it. Although if the Globe goes for only $45,000, WBL could really help out the cause then.

iIn action on November 17th will be lightweight rising star Joe Lauzon (14-3), who will look for his third straight UFC win against unbeaten newcomer Jason Reinhardt (18-0), who makes it clear that despite his prowess on the ground, he’s looking for a standup war.
“Let's stand and fight,” said Reinhardt. “I'm ready for War. Let's get fight of the night. We are sure as hell not gonna get it by wrasslin'. Let's clinch, dirty box, stand in front of one another and throw hands. You can't tell me Dana White doesn't want to see this. The fans love it. They want to see knock outs. I wanna see how good Lauzon’s new boxing coach is. If he knocks me out, so be it. I'm sure as hell not going to worry about my 18-0 undefeated record November 17th. I'm coming to fight my ass off, and do my job.”
Lauzon, who has impressed in his time in the UFC with wins over Jens Pulver and Brandon Melendez that bookended a stint on season five of The Ultimate Fighter, has no intentions of letting his east coast fans down though, and he has spent this training camp working with BJ Penn in Hilo, Hawaii to prepare himself for the pace he expects Reinhardt to set.
“Jason is a good grappler with an impressive record coming from MFS,” said the Massachusetts native. “No one has made it out of the second round with him and I expect an aggressive pace.”

Yeah, I like that idea better, Standby.
Joe is going to win tomorrow and will get another UFC fight soon. Maybe even against Spencer (King) Fisher - that would be the next step for him.
Caveman is right that if it had gotten a push on the show, it would have done much better.
Never mind Jimmy getting text messages from Chuck Lidell - and then Opie saying "we should have him on again"
Lets get Joe Lauzon on the show.

I don't think we failed ... we just fell a little short of the goal. But since Joe's favored to win, I think I agree with holding off on giving him the money so that maybe between now & the next fight we can raise the rest of the money.
Okay, now I'm gonna sound like a girl for a second, but one of my friends is fighting in an MMA match tomorrow in Newark...is that the same as UFC? I'm just wondering if both matches are in the same place. Not that it matters at this point, I have to work, so I couldn't go anyway.

My mistake ... my friend does NAGA and competed at the Essex County College on Saturday. It was a 2 day event but his competitions were on Saturday. We saw him in Wildwood over the summer and at that point he was in the gi and no-gi competitions. This time I think he did gi and moi toi (sp?) or something like that. He didn't medal but won 5 straight matches. Not bad for a kid who's only been doing this about 2 years, if even. This was either his 3rd or 4th competition.

Hey - I saw when they were doing that event there in Wildwood over this past summer - and thought about entering at my "age-approriate" level. But then decided I needed more "training" - but yeah - I do like the fact that they have these open amatuer events.

You know how I butchered muay thai, how about brazilian jew-jit-su? No matter how much I try to commit the spelling to memory, I can't remember it..I think it's more of a mental block than CRS
I was at Wildwood. Had a blast - we left Tom for most of the day and hung out on the beach. When it was getting close to his matches, he called us and we ran to cheer him on. That was Tom's second competition and he did "okay" in no-gi (even though he lost) but got the crap knocked out of him in the gi competition - he tapped out after about a two and half minutes. His gi pants were too short and he needed to change them and then they made him sit out for three more matches so he kind of lost whatever oomph he had built up. Right after that competition he started learning muay thai & Newark was his first competition in that area. The kid drives us all nuts here at the office, especially since he weighs less than many of the women in the office, but ya gotta give him credit for sticking with it.
