Yep, some classic clips there. The video is mistitled, though, it's not Boeing test pilots "showing off", that is more likely film of the airplanes being tested during the certification process to see what sort of crosswinds the airplanes could handle.
The latter portion of the clip, with the twin-engine prop plane, well THAT was "showing off". It looks like film of Bob Hoover (a famed aerobatics/test pilot) doing his schtick in an Aero Commander.
wow that is amazing. i watched it three times. fucking incredible landings.

As entertaining as testing footage is... here's a classic bit of a Korean Air Lines 747-400 landing at the old (now closed) Hong Kong airport, with paying passengers on board.

You ever have to pull off something like that? You're in some pretty big equipment aren't you? MD 10s and 11s?

I'm in 747's these days. And no, I would never attempt something like that... And luckily noone else has to, either, since that airport has been closed in favor of one with less, *ahem*, "interesting" approaches. Not that there aren't hairy approaches/runways/airports all over the place still, but that one has been put to rest. Obviously that approach was one that was done all the time, it just looks like the KAL guys there kind of fluffed it a bit and it ended up being more exciting than it should've been.

PC, you a commercial pilot?
I've heard that some of the nastiest approaches are to LGA, God knows, I've had a couple of thrilling landings there.

Yeah, I'm flying rubber dog shit out of Hong Kong (not literally, but close enough).
LGA can be fairly challenging, but mostly for the bigger airplanes that service the airport because of the relatively short runways. My experience with LGA was in commuter airplanes and it really wasn't a big deal. Well at least not for the taking off and landing part, the moving around on the ground part there is quite confusing.
I've always been partial to this one. This guy's got balls the size of watermellons!
