Ok, folks, I started this for people who will be attending UFC 78 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on Sat. November 17th. Wackbag's own Rance (Joe Lauzon) will be fighting on the card. Let's get a nice crowd there to cheer Joe on. We can also use this to try to set up pre and post fight bagger meets, and maybe we can convince Rance to get on here also.

So far I'm in, along with Cromwell. Thanks for getting those tixs bro.

When Joe Lauzon participated in the Ultimate Fighter season five reality show, it gave him a chance to receive some world class mixed-martial-arts training from former UFC Champions, BJ Penn and Jens Pulver. Since Lauzon already stopped Pulver in his UFC debut, he volunteered himself to be a part of Penn’s team. Under Penn, Lauzon thrived and a bond was made between to the two fighters. This lead to Penn inviting Lauzon to come to Hawaii for extended training. Will this move pay off as Lauzon will fight undefeated Jason Reinhardt at UFC 76: Validation in Newark, New Jersey? Here is what Lauzon told ADCC News in this Q&A.

Nice interview by Rance. Some ballsy gamesmanship he's showing there! Time to hand in your "undefeated club" membership card, classic! Also quoted Tyler Durden in there, nice. Looking forward to seeing you kick ass Rance.

Kick his ass Joe.

Joe is right when he says Jason Reinhardt has fought a bunch no names, I did a search on Reinhardt on wikipedia and got no results, you would think someone who is 18-0 would be somewhat popular...

This may not be the same Jason Reinhardt but you have to beat his ass just having the same name. GO JOE!

Here is Jason's record/profile on sherdog
http://www.sherdog.com/fightfinder/fightfinder.asp?FighterID=2347

Joe's win over Jens is far more impressive than all 18 of Jason's combined. I really hope some fights on the main card end quickly so Joe might have have a chance for his fight to air on the PPV. It is a little discouraging that he is not on it already. With no five round title fight (and Houston "1 minute KO" Alexander) there is a decent chance it will make the PPV.

Hey SuicideBree, where are you sitting, Crom has our tickets, so I'm not sure where we are at.

If we can, lets try to do a meet-up before the fight. It will be my first trip to the brand new Pru Center, so I don't know really what to expect. Its looks awesome on tv, though. Lotta room.

Should be a great night of fights!

I'm totally psyched to be there.

I expect to see Joe unleash a hellstorm of BJ Penn training on his opponent! :icon_cool

Yeah, our Rance was great:

Rising star Joe Lauzon made quick work of UFC debutant Jason Reinhardt in their lightweight bout, submitting the previously unbeaten Illinois native at 1:14 of the first round.

Meeting Reinhardt (18-1) in the middle of the Octagon, the two traded strikes briefly before the fight hit the mat and Lauzon (15-3) took complete control of the bout, eventually sinking in a rear naked choke that halted the bout in just 74 seconds.

“I felt good, I learned new tricks,” said Lauzon, who was coming off his first training camp in Hawaii with former welterweight champ BJ Penn.

Can't believe no one's mentioned yet that Reinhardt looked like a drunken, rabid Michael Scott. Plus his country intro music was depressing and awful and it sucked the anticipation out of the arena. I can't think of another fight where I wanted someone's face to get opened so bad.

Joe totally dominated. It wasn't even close.

Memo to Joe Silva - give Rance a *worthy* opponent! :icon_cool

Huh... You really think so? I was more going with an angry Mark Linn-Baker...

The best part of the fight was the look on Joe's face sitting on top of the cage... he kind of crinkled his brow and gave a look like "I trained for months to fight THIS clown??"

Was watching the fight with instructors and other members of my gym. My one instructor knew I was looking to see this one, and seeing me a little tense, tells me just to "look at the emotions shown in the two fighters... who do you think is more prepared".

God damn was he right.
