Not to sound like a know it all douche, but the sugar really is not all that important. The sugar gives a quick rush, but also causes the crash notorious with energy drinks. The sugar free versions sometimes take a few minutes longer but there is no crash.
The other product we have is the 2 oz energy shot, similar to 5 hour energy, which is heavily marketed. This is sugar free and loaded with b complex vitamins, which gives you a longer rush, without any crash.
My company is the only company to have both and we are very proud of that.

The crap they put in those drinks far outweighs any benefit you're going to get from the vitamin gimmick.

As far as playing with the big boys, it sure ain't easy bro. That is for sure.
Now if we can cut out all the nice guy bullshit.
We are the ONLY company that has both an energy drink AND a concentrated shot. The energy drink market is completely saturated, however, the shot market is an open canvass, owned by 5 Hour energy.
People want my 2 oz shooters. I already have one Annheiser Busch distributor selling my product. He is bringing the product to A/B in about two weeks to try and get it distributed nationwide.
That is a long shot so quickly, but he will get more independant A/B people to move the product in different parts of the country and as it grows, the chances are that A/B will at least look at it.
We are riding the wave created by 5 Hour energy's marketing campaign. They have pumped 10 million dollars into marketing against Red Bull. You get all the rush and none of the crash. You get a 5-6 hour rush without consuming all that liquid.
Now....... you take the popularity of our "shooter" and add the energy drink to our line and you have an advantage over all but 3-4 of the other energy drinks out there. We will NEVER be Red Bull, MOnster, Rock Star or Full Throttle, but we can keep up with any of the other companies that are doing tens of millions of dollars in sales.
Shit I will gladly take their scraps.
Now as far as how long the energy drink "craze" will last, I know people who shot down Perrier and Evian saying that people will never pay for water....
That lead to Poland Springs and Deer Park which lead to fucking purified tap water like Aquafina and Dasani which lead to people buying water with fucking vitamins in it......To Vitamin Water which was just sold to Coca Cola for 4.1 billion dollars.....that is $41,000,000,000.00
I am not suggesting that we are going to get rich, but the right product, with the right marketing and the right price can be a successful venture.

Listen, I am not gonna sit here and preach to anyone that this is any healthier than other "soft drinks".
Truth be told, if you go with a sugar free product they are a better alternative than soft drinks and of you use 2-3 teaspoons of sugar, then the sugar in an energy drink is not any worse.
Coffee does not have any vitamins or minerals. Even something like Orange Juice is loaded with preservatives and sugar. I do not drink coffee and will drink a diet soda in the AM.
They have about the same caffiene as a cup of coffee or a 20 oz bottle of soda.
The only beverage out there that is healthy is water, maybe green tea, if you buy the hype.
People kill me because they preach against "energy drinks" but they will drink soda, iced tea, coffee, etc.
I had one douche who was telling me that she would never, ever sell my products because she does not believe in selling things that are bad for your health. Then I asked her about the beer, soda, chips, tobbacco, luncheon meats, etc that she sold and she looked at me stupified.

Oh yeah....and by the way.

Of course you don't... you know what's in them/yours.
Here's the thing... soft drinks and coffee aren't marketed as "health beverages", whereas energy drinks often are... maybe not directly, but the implication that these drinks are somehow good for you is definitely there.
Take the marketing literature for your own product... you're practically pushing your caffeinated sugar water as if it's aqua vitae dipped directly from the Fountain of Youth.
Packed with an array of ingredients and vitamins to make a potent energy beverage whose sole purpose is to "revitalize" your mind & body, stimulate metabolism, enhance performance, and increase concentration.
Funny... I don't see the marketers of beer, chips, cigarettes, and luncheon meats making these sorts of claims for their products.
In your own words...
The only beverage out there that is healthy is water, maybe green tea, if you buy the hype.
Hype? Oh... the fucking irony. :icon_roll
If the health claims of green tea are "hype", then what the hell does that make the verbiage on your website in reference to a liquid that YOU WON'T EVEN DRINK YOURSELF?
Dopie Opie
11-06-2007, 06:18 AM
I never said "I WON'T" drink it. I said "I do not". There is a big difference and the difference is taste. I do not have a taste for that product. I have consumed mine, and plenty of it over the past few months. My problem is that it is carbondated and has a fruity flavor.
I do not like fruity and carbonation. I prefer a caramel taste (cola) with carbonation and non carbonation for the fruity stuff. I drink my 2 oz hot shot 2-3 times a week and find it very helpful.
It is sugar free and it is loaded with vitamins and nutrients. You can try an disclam it however you want, God bless.
As far as the Green Tea, hype goes. Sure green tea in its stripped down basic form has proven to be good for you. However, when Arizona, Snapple and Lipton add all the sugar and preservatives it really negates all the benefits of the Tea it self.
Our products are loaded with B-complex vitamins, niacin, Taurine, folic acid and other nutrients which elude me at this time. How are they good for you in a pill form, but not added to a beverage.

It's all B Vitamians= Nothing wrong with it, just as long as you drink it in the morning. The Rockstar is my favorite because it has no carbs, no sugar, and b's.....Coffe is garbage, it hurts your intestines and dehydrates you. This is just an advancement that was long overdue. Rockstar is by far the best for you,,,,unless you choose O.J. and water with a GNC mega mens or mega womens vitamian.
People kill me because they preach against "energy drinks" but they will drink soda, iced tea, coffee, etc. I quit drinking soda back when they switched from real sugar to corn syrup.. and I haven't looked back since. I tried to drink a Coke the other day and nearly vomited. The only things I drink are:
1. Beer
2. Grapefruit juice
3. Water with lemon wedges
Moral of the story - TO EACH THEIR FUCKING OWN. Pretty much. I just can't resist jumping in to point and laugh at people who spend so much of their limited budget on ridiculously overpriced soft drinks. The beverage industry is one of the largest in this country. It just amazes me how stupid people are for buying into all the marketing and not even realizing they're addicted to caffeine. I've read studies claiming caffeine is more addictive than tobacco. People just don't even realize it because soda/coffee/energy drinks are rooted so deeply into American pop culture. And the best part is, caffeine is a diuretic, which makes you want to drink even more! Brilliant!
I challenge anyone who regularly drinks soda, coffee, or energy drinks to try stopping for a week. I guarantee you'll find one in your hand before you even realize it.

The copy I quoted from your webpage was in reference to your energy drink... which contains 27 grams of sugar... in the form of high fructose corn syrup I would imagine.

Agreed.

I see nothing wrong with your 2 oz. shooter... nutritionally speaking. Although it does make me a bit suspicious that there are no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives listed on the ingredients label.
It's essentially a 5 cent multi-vitamin pill in 3 dollar liquid form. In other words... it's the 3 dollar answer to a 5 cent question...
aka
A marketing gimmick.

I can't drink O.J. or grapefruit juice because of a negative interaction with one of my meds. For some reason, coffee in the morning does not agree with my system, even if I use half & half instead of milk - even fat free give me problems. Rest of the day is fine, but not the morning. I drink water throughout the day & have decreased my diet cola intake to maybe one can a day if even that.
oohh - thanks for reminding me about the vitamins - I use Mega Vita Min for Women from Vitamin World & I'm almost out :action-sm

You can't be fucking serious.
First it might cost a little more than a nickel to make our product.
Second, there are other things other than the cost of the liquid that go into the production of the product. It was not free to develop the flavor and formula, create the labels, bottles, boxes and any sort of maketing materials. The last time I checked it was not free to tranport the product from the factory to my warehouse. Its also not free to warehouse it.
Oh yeah....Winter is coming up and its a liquid, so guess what...we need to keep the warehouse heated, have you seen the cost of fuel. Now lets talk about the 10 grand we dropped last night to start our radio campaign, never mind the commision we have to pay the sales guys who sell our product.
SO PLEASE, DO NOT GIVE ME THIS 5 CENT BULLSHIT.
AND if you want to get into profit margins for soft drinks...lets check out the 17 cent cost to the restuarant to pour a fountain drink that they sell for $2.29......

Not to put words into anyone's mouth, but the way I read THP's post was as if he was implying the end consumer could receive the same exact benefit of your "shot" in the form of a generic multivitamin, which would cost the CONSUMER $0.05 :fight6:

I drive a minivan.
I'm a 40-year-old dude, and I drive a Honda Odyssey. What's more... I love that thing. It's the best car I've ever owned. There... run with that one.
I've posted plenty of shit about myself.
Here ya go...
http://www.wackbag.com/showthread.php?t=48170&highlight=oneonta
Back when I was a young lad of 20 years, I was home on leave from the Navy. I go out one night with my cousin and a bunch of friends and I meet this girl who is my cousin's friend. Long story short... we hit it off and spend a great two weeks together. This is in Albany NY and I'm stationed in San Diego. So my two weeks of bliss is over, I go back out to California, and I spend the next half a year carrying on a long distance romance. I'm all Freddy Faithfull, I don't even look at any other girls, and I write like three letters a week and send gifts of jewelry and shit to my 'special gal' who is in college in Oneonta, NY.
Six months go by and I finally take leave again and go home. I fly six hours across the county, I get off the plane in Albany, take like twenty minutes to say hi to my family, and then I jump in the car and make the something like three hour drive to SUNY Oneonta to visit 'the apple of my eye'.
After an entire day of travelling, I finally arrive at the college, I walk into her dorm, and a bunch of her dorm mates... or whatever the fuck they are... greet me. A gaggle of like ten silly bitches all giggling at me like the annoying cunts they are. The head cunt speaks up... some fatass first string professional cockblocker... and she informs me that Dawn (my special gal pal) has a new boyfriend, and she doesn't want to see me anymore, and then all the cunts start laughing at me. Me... just an honest Joe military fella with a goofy haircut... laughing at ME.
So I went out to my car, took an AK-47 out of the trunk, went back inside and slaughtered every last cunt in the building in an orgy of high-velocity hilarity, and then I buttfucked the corpses.
At least that's what I would have done if I weren't a spineless zilch. What I actually did was stand there like a dipshit, turned all red, stammered out some nonsense that only served to make me look like a bigger tool, and then I left and drove a sad and lonely three hours back to Albany.
I stunk.
Have at me. No high horse here... I'll take my turn in the barrel.
More stuff...
-I'm a doctor's wife. My wife is a doctor, and I'm a housewife. I'm a kept man, and, even when I was working, my wife out-earned me by about X10.
-I'm terrified of horses. Last week, I took my family to one of those Fall festival things, and this Headless Horseman dude rode up on a horse and I squealed like a little bitch... made a spectacle of myself.
-Stay tuned... plenty more where that came from.

Thank you sweetie ... but don't worry yourself over him ... I said my piece and as far as I'm concerned it's over. I've requested that any other comments he wishes to direct to me or about me be PM'd directly to me. I didn't ask for a "real" apology, nor do I expect to get one. But, this shouldn't escalate into a board war.
He is right in a way ... I am fat. I'm also the picture of health for a fat person - I don't have high blood pressure, I don't have heart disease or diabetes or any other of the issues that fat people have. Oh and yeah, I like to have an energy drink in the morning instead of a cup of coffee and if I can help someone out by supporting his product, more power to me.

Red Bull still gives you wings and they do have great commercials. I love the new one ... I think it's new .. where they guy gets crapped on by the bird, drinks a Red Bull and flies over the bird. Last thing you see is the guy going for his zipper and the look on the bird's face like he knows what's about to happen. I hate commercials and usually switch the channel, but that one keeps me glued to the tube ;)

Here is the review I sent in my PM :
I actually tried one of tehm today.
I'd have to rank it my third fav energy drink.
Red Bull is still #1, followed by Amp'd
Def. better than rockstar/ful throttle/and the others i've tried.
I would say your main market will be to people who like energy, but don't want a flavor quite as strong as the current drinks on the market.
The flavor itself was good, But it almost felt a little watered down. It could also use a slight bit more carbonation.
It does leave a little more of an aftertate than I'm used to, but all in all, it was a very enjoyable drink.
Seriously, most of the drinks I try I throw away after one sip. I was able to drink all of this one. I could also definatly see prefering to mix this with Jagermeister over my tradidional red bull & jager.
The energy shot was very good. I loved the berry flavor, and thouroughly enjoyed it.
Overall:
Energy Drink 7/10
Energy shot 8.5/10

Shameless Follow Up Info:
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the taste of Red Bull....
I HATE the taste of coffee. (I do drink tea though... I know.. I'm a fag)
Upon further though (and drinking a second drink) I would have to say, the ONLY thing holding it back for me is te aftertaste.
It isn't as "strong" of an aftertaste as Red Bull, but it definatly "Lingers Longer" that I'd like.
Fix that, and not only will I let you blow me, but i might even give ya a reach around.

D'Opie sent me some as well, and I gotta say I like it a whole lot more than Red Bull for all of the aforementioned reasons. I honestly think it would be an easy choice as a replacement for Red Bull in the bar scene, as it tastes like it would compliment both Jager and Vodka better.
I am, admittedly, more of a fan of the 16+ ounce "Juiced" or "Java" versions of Rock Star and Monster, but as 8 oz 'Red Bull" types out there, this is one of my favorites.

Got my sample today...
Thank you, Dopie Opie... you're a good egg.
My review...
-I had a bitch of a time getting at the stuff. I was gnawing on the shrink wrap packaging like a chipmunk for like two minutes before I got the cap off. I noticed that two of the four bottles had a perforated "dotted line" which helped, but two bottles didn't have the dotted line, and they were a struggle to open... or maybe I'm just a retard.
-The Lemon Lime(sugar free) was pretty tasty... the Berry... not so much, but still not bad. The flavor is much less intense and cloying as some of the other energy drinks I've tried, which was good, but, as a result of the milder flavor, I could really detect the artificial sweetener... which I assume is Nutrasweet. Tart, not-overly-sweet start, with an artificial sweetener aftertaste... but not too intense. Overall, It tasted better than I had expected.
-The "boost"... very, very mild. Barely detectable. I'm very sensitive to caffeine... 6 ounces of Dunkin Donuts coffee has me running to drop a deuce within 15 minutes, and 12 ounces has me shaking like a crackhead within 45 minutes. I'm not sure if caffeine is the "active ingredient" in Zenedge, but if it is, it doesn't seem to contain a high enough dose to have much of an effect.
-I slugged two Zenedges in a row, and felt only the mildest of a "rush". I went for my usual, daily 6 mile run directly after, and I felt no real discernable difference in my performance.
Overall... pretty good. Much better taste than the usual carbonated Robitussin flavor of most other energy drinks.
Conclusion... four out of five dentists should recommend this energy drink to their patients who chew gum, and the fifth dentist should be kicked in the teeth.
Thanks again, mister! :action-sm

Thank you very much for your honest assessment. The berry shooters were from sample packs that I had which were not perforated. Sorry about that. The lemon lime is from a regular pack.
As far as the caffeine content and people's reaction to it. First there is about 80 mg of caffeine in our shooters. The same as an 8oz cup of coffee. The caffeine is not what makes our product effective. It is a balance of b-vitamins, taurine, caffeine and other fun stuff.
I have tried to explain the effect as follows. If you have tired muscles, you will still have tired muscles. If you are tired it will pep you up a bit. Again, this is my assessment only and I have had many people tell me that it helps them in the gym.
Again, thank you very much for you review and if I can be of any other assistance please do not hesitate.
