I was reading something on Google the other day and happened to come across the fact that there is an uncut, R-rated version of one of my favorite movies, The Shining. Are there any major differences between the original that came out in 1980 and uncut version? I have the DVD but I am not sure which one I have.

yes, the major difference is that now it is available on DVD instead of its original release medium. which was vhs/beta.

i have no idea, honestly.

All versions are R-rated as far as I know.

According to imdb.com:
146 min (original version) / 142 min (cut) / 119 min (cut) (European version)
