How the fuck do you use usenet???

Maybe someone out there can help me here....I am trying to figure out how to use usenet so I can find all the hidden gems to watch, listen and enjoy. I have forte agent (the free version) and seem to have access to newsgroups thru pacbell. But when I look up groups, nothing seems to come up even though I am connected. Any help would be appreciated.

First get rid of forte... OUTLOOK EXPRESS IS a better program and it sucks ass.. There is a free newsgroup reader I got off DOWNLOAD.com that is great and extremely easy to use.. Crap I don't have it on my system anymore... I forget the name.... IF I find it again I'll post the name.

I use groups.google.com but there's a delay of a few hours before new posts show up.
