Police: Man, 84, beats wife with frying pan

An 82-year-old North Massapequa man was arrested Thanksgiving morning after he struck his wife with a frying pan and then stabbed her, Nassau police said.
Oscar Campbell was charged with attempted murder and first-degree assault after he hit his wife, Alma, 84, with a frying pan and stabbed her in the stomach and head inside their home on North Virginia Avenue.
Alma Campbell was able to run to the house of a neighbor who called police. Officers arrested Campbell in his house, police said.
Alma Campbell was admitted to Nassau University Medical Center. Her condition was not released. Mr. Campbell was also transported to the medical center and admitted for evaluation.
