I watched this thing tonight. It was actually kinda cool. Jim Breuer was on there. Some of the covers that were done of their tunes were kinda cool. It somewhat revived my interest in Metallica.

I liked it other than Limp Bizkit....They completely ruined it, also, I like Snoop. but that was complete disrespect

I think Limp Biscuit blows donkey dick.

Snoop is cool. What exactly was disrespectful? I must be oblivious.

I didn't care for it at all. I think there were only 2 decent performances, Limp Bizkit (God help me) and Aaron and Mike from Staind.

Snoop was just a joke. Blah.

(and now, my thoughts regarding this show...)
------------

heres' my breakdown:

Staind - not really a big fan of them. I don't think they suck or anything but their two acoustic guitar version of Nothing Else Matters, the butchered edited bastardized version that it was..."eh"/"aight" come to mind.

Avril - her band sounded great. she sounded like she could give 2 shits. She had low energy and I even question if she even liked the song they played - "Fuel". punk ass slut. Avril, suck it. (youu're cute but still..suck it, you punk - and I use "punk" VERY lightly.)

Breuer - lookee Breuer, doin' a mini-roast on the Tallica boys...nice. a lil' weak but still...a noble effort. Hey Breuer, nice mini-Metallica roast, deek.

Snoop D-double O-G - ummm..ok...cool. way to go wit your "Sad But True" rendition...if you indeed can call it that. You cool though for "puttin' yo'self out dere", singin' it even. Entertaining in a train wreck kinda way.

Limp Bizkit - I can give two shits about this band and lead singer "What's wroooong wit dah world today?" Fred Durst but whoa, I was pleasantly surprised by their version of Santarium...scooch and I have already covered this. My apologies for having repeated myself.

Korn - oddly enough, the only band besides Limp that actually appeared to enjoy playing their respective cover of a Tallica song..."One"...ballsy of them but I think they did it fair justice...down tuned in typical Korn fashion, their sound came through in it but overall, solid performance. SOLID.

and now...Metallica:

Started off a medley with "Hit the Lights" and then into "Sandman". Then into "Blackened" (AWESOME! ) then "Creeping Death" (complete w/ "Die" chant, on MTV, NICE.) and finally into "Battery"

Hetfield says the thanks and then says:

"We're sure an icon but...

we ain't done yet."

And off they rip into a new song...a moment I hoped for all along. Not too shabby. :D

I look forward to hearing the new stuff. After the last 3 years or so of not being that enthusiastic about anything else that may come forth from my teenage metal heros, I now find myself completely giddy with excitement over hearing thier new stuff and praying to the metal gods themselves that this album kicks my face in.

*crosses fingers*

June 10th..all will be revealed.
