I'm off work sick today, sitting on the couch listening to XM 202 on the laptop doing some work. (thanks to the free trial of Go To My PC. www.gotomypc.com) VH1 Classic "Metal Mania" has been on mute the whole time. I'm watching some of these videos, Winger, Poison Dokken, Skid Row and the ilk. Most are hardly Metal, but that's a different argument.

Either way, goddamn these videos are fucking gay. The makeup (I think the Dokken guy actually has rouge on... and too much for that matter), clothes, hair, production, lame effects and stupid video themes or stories that have nothing to do with the song.

Maybe I'm just getting old and crotchety.

Maybe the videos were gay, but alot of the music kicked ass.

yeah. Judas Priest had some bad ass songs but we all know what happened there. I liked the music, but I'll agree some of the non-hard rock videos were just gayness with a capital G.

the video with Taco - "Putting on the Ritz" just takes the cake for the decade in faggyness.

Patton Oswalt does a funny bit about 80s metal videos and their gayness.
