I think Op has given up on the whole FM deal. It has been nothing but frustrating for him, and probably Ant as well. If you have been in radio for as long as them, and you see things just falling apart around you, I think you would say fuck it as well. I was never to excited about the whole FM deal, but it happened at a time when radio was different. But now its a different game. Had Imus, Homeless Charlie, etc. never happened, I believe the FM deal would have been huge for them (minus the possible merger). It was a gamble to begin with.

But when you hear what has been replacing them, its just plain sad. Not just for O&A, but for us as well. Before you know it, everything is gonna be watered down. Terrestrial radio wants to compete, and stay in the game, this is not the way. Why do you think everyone is turning to iPods and Satalite radio. We want things our way, and for many of us it is uncensored and raw.

But we all know this, and Im just ranting again!

I just had another thought.

O&A's FM contract is up in 4 months right? If the merger goes through, Mel has made it clear he will not share talent. I think that most if not all the FM stations are already expecting the merger to go through and contracts not to be re-newed. So they are replacing there local "talent" (and I use this term very very loosely) as they can find a new morning show. If the individual stations have control, I doubt they are gonna wait till the last minute to replace O&A. 4 months is not that far off.

Unfortunately, HACK is the only thing safe on FM these days..... IMHO, all these "themes of the day" is total hack... and yet they do it. (And yes I know they did it as a goof at the beginning, but when its all you do, all day, every day... you can't really say its goofing on it... its YOUR BIT NOW).

Ya, i would highly doubt they continue on CBS. Affiliates are dropping and I havn't heard much about great ratings. I just hope Op isn't gonna quit. If they go to xm/sirius (whatever you wanna call it) only they should drop the interaction if it bothers them so much. Even if the show does lose the good lines here and there if they enjoy their job more the show would benefit. And im not suggesting no phone calls, just the feedback/paltalk stuff that allows the haters the constant unignorable voice.
