As someone that expects to get an INNO for Christmas, what is the speculation on what equipment will work and for how long and so on?
If an when the physical merger happens what is the theory of what signals will be broadcast?
Just curious.

I think we can still use our old equipment for at least the first year. They can't expect every sub to go out and buy a new unit.

I just bought an inno for my g/f for Christmas. So this means I am gonna have resupply all my fucking units because of this crap. Yea, it saves for the consumer my ass.

I won't copy the entire text, too long. Just this snip.
" Georgetown Partners Files with Department of Justice Opposition to Sirius-XM Merger Proposal
BETHESDA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Georgetown Partners L.L.C., a minority-owned private equity firm with a commercial interest in the proposed Sirius-XM merger, today reported it has made a filing with the Department of Justice involving, among other documents, a specific letter to the head of the Antitrust Division"
Keyword "Minority-owned" I bet bringing up the race card will stir up shit with the merger.

Your an idiot. You are all so against the merger maybe you should do some research rather than speculate. As I understand it your equipment will work forever. As long as you want to keep the same service. If for some reason you want additional sirius content you can pay more but you need new equipment. Or if you want to pay less (6.99 I think but O&A probably arent included in that package) you can buy new equipment and pay less and get less monthly.
The merger will eliminate the in battling of satellite radio and your monthly price can stay the same rather than the 2 companies having to raise prices to make money. So dont worry about your gf her inno will be fine

I don't know shit about shit, but I think the merger will happen. The technology will be a cluster fuck between the two companies the fucking shit box sirrius (spelling is for queers...zzzzzz) radios. But OnA will stay on for their contract but be on a separate tier than hoo hoo. Kind of like getting the Showtime or HBO package on cable, not necc. a bad thing. But Krock is done as dead. What they said 4 months and we'll see I think I heard. Its gonna be an all out satellite party of love, thanks Lou.

I'm in the minority here, I want the merger. I have both services(love Howard too) and would like to have both on 1 unit(my Inno).
Fuck the scumbags using the race card. What a load of shit.

I made a choice between Sirius and XM pre Howard announcement. And after listening to both in the cars of friends I found SIrius had much better music stations. I still believe this to be true. Plus they got NFL. And Howard has a great radio show. And the whole thing is uncensored. Which is a big part of why even though I now really enjoy O&A I would never actually subscribe. I am supposed to pay for censored HBO? come on

sorry not censored but with swearing highly discouraged for the first 3 hours. Thats why they have to resort to that hackyWacky news story stuff. Or video of the day. Sometimes those first 3 hours venture into morning zoo shows without the lame productions

Why resort to name calling?
Since you did your research, I wish that you would tell everyone at least one example of the consumer benefiting from eliminating competition and allowing a monopoly to develop... Welllll...we're waiting!

I cannot be convinced fires burned so hot they warper steel enough to make the buildings fall if they were not even hot enough to burn a fucking passport. Or that the black boxes were destroyed and a piece of paper was not
Research ain't exactly his thing.

What? Of course you had to buy a new unit when you signed up but if everyone has to repurchase a new unit I would bet you would see a lot of cancellations. Forcing everyone to buy new units would be a bad move.

It would suck to need a new radio for the one built into my 2008 Honda. I would tell satellite to go screw if I need a new radio. It's just a luxury and my 3 subs aren't that important to me

But why would the same government who was responsible for 9-11 be interested in enforcing all these promises for the benefit of us lowly sheeple?

This merger is a prime example of why the government makes absolutely no sense. More time was spent on this silly merger than the decision to invade Iraq. Oil companies merge all the time with much less of a pain in the ass. Companies own hundreds of radio stations across the country. Having one satellite company will not effect any of you. Assuming you do not want to upgrade your service you will not need new equipment. The only possible negative to the merging of the 2 companies is O&A getting canned. But even if the merger doesn't happen I believe the chances for them getting canned would still be relatively the same.
It sounds like Bubba the Love Sponge is on his way out the door at Sirius (THANK gOD!). Maybe the boys can get work at Howard's station in the new year.
(obviously this is a joke, well half joke, I would like to hear it)

As one the companies will be making more money. This will ensure them to keep prices the same or perhaps even lower them.
You want more benefits besides steady costs?
Well as an xm subscriber you cannot listen to NFL games. If you want them you can get a-la carte programming. You have to pay more but it is still less than both an XM and a SIrius subscription. In all likelihood if the companies do not merge one will fail. So even if they do not merge one will emerge victorious. And Sirius is buying XM as I understand it. So if they do not merge it could potentially be worse for the boys.

Sirius already does not do much for anyone but Howard. Like I said Bubba is on his way out the door and the story was he was upset and wanted more money in his new contract, and they actually offered him LESS MONEY!
I think the normal treatment is starvation and neglect and basically fake support. I do not think O&A will be any exception to the cheapness of SIrius

Enwordlips... Did you really make that RIDICULOUS example of a single passport not burning as a reason to think the fire/heat did not weaken the WTC steel enuff to fail???
and THATS 1 of the reasons you think the guvment did it????

I never said the government did it. I do think that there is alot of strange stuff out there and it probably hasn't been totally looked into due to people not taking it seriously. And I do not see how a plane could crash into a building and a passport not get burnt. It just does not make logical sense to me. But this has nothing to do with the merger.

Fuck the merger.
People not taking it seriously??? You are fuckin delusional. What else u want looked into? U wanna find out if the guvment funded the Islamic nuts? That ridiculous angle is a catch 22.
-and if you can't understand how some things in a crash may survive, even some paper, there's no talking to you. You are determined to find "oddities" to fuel a ridiculous theory.

If this is the type of brilliance to be expected by Sirius subscribers, I don't want it. With more competition comes lower prices and more content. Both companies have expressed that they won't be adding anything significant after a merger. With there being a la carte billing, O&A will once again be on a premium channel which means less audience.
So dont worry about your gf her inno will be fine
People are returning innos because of numerous problems most commonly the record feature not separating the show into separate segments.
Retail sales have slumped as well.
