I'm doing a presentation and was trying to add sounds to my powerpoint presentation. Is there anyway I can clip a piece of a song or movie to create a 2 or 3 second sound clip?

For songs you can use a lot of stuff. I use mpTrim to cut mp3s for my phone, it's super easy to use. www.mptrim.com I have no idea about movies though.

Yup..there's a lot of free software you get to do this.

Check www.Download.com for a few...I use AVS Media, it's really good.

Dude, send me a private message of the movie you want clips from I might have it and if I do I'll clip it and email it to you.

I love Audacity... and my soundcard will let me record whatever sound is being played.

Without that, there's the ghetto version -- run a mini stereo cable from the speaker jack to the microphone jack, then record.

I posted this in the recording streaming music thread but it applies here. The MyMp3 Recorder 2 software http://www.mp3mymp3.com/mp3_my_mp3_recorder.html is a free way to accomplish that. But if you've got $30 or $40 to spend and want to make it VERY easy, go to the Replay Radio page and download their software. I LOVE that program, it also records streaming video.
