I get a brand new Xbox 360 manufacture date 10-24-07. Play it one night, all is well. Wake up today , pop in COD4 , fucking thing freezes 2 minutes in , restart, thing freezes all over again (went through this 5 times). Scour the forums all over the place, try all the "fixes" (raising the power supply on a box, plug directly into wall as opposed to power strip, the x x LB RB x x code), still goddam freezes every time.

I'm not even gonna fuck with Microsoft over the phone. Going to try and trade it in today for a different one. If that doesn't work, and the POS still fucking freezes, I am sending a steaming pile of shit to Microsoft, after I consume tacos, corn and cheap beer.

Fucking 2 years in and still pumping out faulty systems. Fuck You Microsoft.

Well I did some more poking around online and someone somewhere mentioned corrupt saved games. So I went in and deleted my COD4 save game, started from the beginning (not a big deal as I was only on the second level), and have been playing for half an hour and no freezing.

So far, so good, I just hope that's what it was.

At this point, I think you're right. Has Microsoft done anything to combat the problem? I mean, it's not just threads on WB, I've seen alot of complaints where 360's are crapping out. And it's not a "oh, my 360 was bad, so I returned it for a new one." It's "Fuck, I'm on my 4th 360 in 4 months!". What the fuck is Microsoft doing? Even the ones that aren't duds quite yet, how can you be sure that the console will work for next 2-3 years? I've got a fuckin original Nintendo system I bought 21 years ago that still works.

fair enough. i doubt anyone will argue 360 hardware is a piece of shit . but i think ms opted to leave hddvd out as a standard because its very risky to push a proprietary format as your console. its an all-in move for ps3, if they win, then next gen they will reap the benefits like toshiba did with dvd royalties. if not, they might end up like dreamcast, who tried to push a horrible proprietary format.

Well it finally happened. For real this time. The first problem was a corrupt saved game that was causing COD4 to freeze up. I deleted the save file and all was well again. Until this morning.

I'm playing online, the game freezes. I wait, thinking its just more connection problem bullshit that happens every fucking time I play online. It's still frozen, so I power it down. Turn it back on and voila, three blinking red lights. Pull out the hard drive and all plugs, wait 10 minutes, retry, still get the lights. The motherfucker is toast after 3 weeks.

Now I have to wait "3-4 weeks" for a new one to be shipped to me. The operator tells me I'll get one month free on Xbox Live. Big fucking whoop. What is that 4 fucking dollars for my trouble? Go fuck yourself. It's a double penetration in that I was still on my initial first free month with 2 still to go, but now those remaining 2 weeks are caput because the fucking xbox is, so in essence I am really only getting 2 weeks free.

I'm not gonna lie, when its working I love the 360, but goddamn this is bullshit. EVERYONE I know that has or had one has dealt with this shit.
I am disgusted, but like a chump I will take this whore back and continue to let her abuse me.

Well it finally happened. For real this time. The first problem was a corrupt saved game that was causing COD4 to freeze up. I deleted the save file and all was well again. Until this morning.

I'm playing online, the game freezes. I wait, thinking its just more connection problem bullshit that happens every fucking time I play online. It's still frozen, so I power it down. Turn it back on and voila, three blinking red lights. Pull out the hard drive and all plugs, wait 10 minutes, retry, still get the lights. The motherfucker is toast after 3 weeks.

Now I have to wait "3-4 weeks" for a new one to be shipped to me. The operator tells me I'll get one month free on Xbox Live. Big fucking whoop. What is that 4 fucking dollars for my trouble? Go fuck yourself. It's a double penetration in that I was still on my initial first free month with 2 still to go, but now those remaining 2 weeks are caput because the fucking xbox is, so in essence I am really only getting 2 weeks free.

I'm not gonna lie, when its working I love the 360, but goddamn this is bullshit. EVERYONE I know that has or had one has dealt with this shit.
I am disgusted, but like a chump I will take this whore back and continue to let her abuse me.

Yeah I'm positive. If 4 lights are blinking its a loose cord. If three except for the upper right are blinking, its a general hardware failure. The power supply also lights green, so its not that.

If you don't want to wait you could always go buy a new Xbox, put your old one in it then return it saying it dont work.

High dollar electronics usually have the serial number on the receipt. Unless the clerk is an idiot and misses it, it's not likely to work well.
