Some 'WOW' vs. 'Blink' News Around NYC

Saw this posted over at R&F forums tonight...

Has anyone else seen this? I'm on the LIRR last
weekend and I see a big PINK Blink ad, but a smile
forms on my face as I notice a big fat "WOW" written
accross it in black Sharpie. It was comforting to know
that someone else out there is still pissed. Assuming it
was an isolated incident I moved on and soon forget.
But I remembered it again today when I see the SAME
thing on the side of a city bus (Bx. 10 to be exact)...
this time even bigger, due to the larger nature of the
ad. This is awesome! I don't see how it could've been
the same person, so it could either be two isolated
incidents or a collaborated effort. Will this get O&A
back on the air any quicker? Nope. Will it make Blink
fail any quicker? Not at all. But does it REPRESENT
AFRO in the HIZZ-OUSE? You bet your ass.

Just another random thought... how Fight Club would it
be if Viacom placed a giant Blink billboard in Times
Square, and some sick, insane AFRO Army guys took a
black paint-roller and some WOW stickers to it?

question, are there hooo hooo ad's on busses or billboards in ny? Because in Boston every single bus had a huge opie and anthony billboard when they were on (saw one the other day that hadn't been taken off, lol)

i wish i could take credit for that one, but i've been using WOW stickers... the sharpie is a better idea as it's not removable...

havent seen any hoohoo ad's in a long while... no need to advertise a household name i guess...

All I know is you posted a bumper sticker with an idea, and I immediately see a post of people taking action on the city streets along the same lines. I think you inpired someone to take some action! :cool:

How much does it cost for a billboard, and what are the legal issues about using the Blink 102.7 logo in an advertisement?Could we get away with slightly changing it so it looks like the Blink logo but is actually NOT. (Possibly "Dink 102.7")

I have been doing something bad but good. I put wow stickers on public transportation ie a bus or the green line in boston. Not many at all but a few. I noticed that there's a ton of wow stickers on rt. 9 in framingham that got taken away that I put up (helped to put up, somebody started it and I just continued). I spread the o and a word everywhere, i put up several wow stickers in the medical building i work in (elevators, office's not affiliated with us.) I play o and a when I can at work and lot's of patients say the same thing "are they on again?" this is comming from mainly younger crew twenties thirties, but man I make sure to TURN IT UP when there waiting the typical twenty minutes to be seen and they love it! I've had patients laugh outloud at bits, I make sure that there clean bits just in case there's other people there, but man I can not believe the positive response i've seen! I wish Opie and Anthony and the whole crew of the show knew this, I mean it's a random office and like I said EVERY SINGLE twenties and thirties patient is an o and a fan.

awesome job, norton! i also keep o&a playing on my computer at work... customers dont want to leave, and sometimes even helps me make a sale(if a customer stays long enough, they usually want to buy things).

ed... now you know thats not right... i'm using that as a sig pic already... my ex made it for me... i can make the lil bitch make you one if you like... but please... dont steal my sig!

That is actually the first thing I've seen that's inspiring enough to follow. Great way to take action. I will tomorrow start arming myself with a black sharpie and hopefully spot some signs or stickers along my day.

First, a public acknowlegment. I stole Robifications sig pic, and have since reversed that. Sorry Rob, but it is a damn good sig pic. Keep it.

Second, I would love to Spray paint a nice Yellow "WOW" on them blick posters I keep seeing, but I have a job to keep.
but during the past week I have been jumping out my truck and going up to anyone who has a WOW sticker and giveing them a name of a site that is easy to remember. Hopefully they come in and say Hi sometime. I have been doing that because of this thread. (and cause I can't go spray painting on the back of buses)
