Did You Ever Have To Shower In Gym Class?

We've heard stories, we've seen it on TV shows but have any of you ever had to actually show after gym class? Because I never did and no one I know ever did, at least I think not (not that the topic comes up regularly). So was it something that existed in like the 1970s and stopped come the 80s for obvious reasons or are high schools just different throughout the land?

I went to HS from 96-00 and we were required to shower after gym. If we didn't, they took us down a letter grade.

then again, we barely did shit for gym class in high school. especially if you were active in a sport that season. they barely cared.

YES every day when I had gym I showered... The gym teacher told me if I wanted extra credit that I should take a shower at the end of his class I passed with an A++. Still till this day I wonder why there were full length mirrors in the shower

I went to HS from 91-95, the first two years we were in the old school (build in the early 1900s). Our gym teacher said he didn't know what was growing in the shower, and didn't care whether or not we showered. In IN we only have to take 2 semesters of gym.

No we never had to there were showers there but hardly anyone ever used them...a few times i remember wrestlers doing it after gym and the rest of us just kinda stood there uncomfortable and getting dressed and out ASAP to remove ourselves from the situation and mock the homos from the hallway

...................actually, the soccer team came back from a game once and used them. I don't know if they always used them, or if they just did that day, but I always thought the showers were broken until that day. I'm happy no one in my gym classes ever used them, though. That would be awkward.

Like a bunch of the others, we didn't have time to shower. About all we did in gym was play basketball, so it didn't take alot to build up a good sweat. I ended up fighting with the coach because I had gym 1st period and didn't want to stink all fuckin' day. Me and three others ended up getting to leave five whole minutes early to shower. graduated in '98. I took gym and did wrestling every year of high shcool. Not once did i jump in the shower with the other guys. I went home took a shower, then would go skate and play hockey till like 8 or so then take another shower. I would take 3 showers in a day sometimes.

We didn't have gym class if you played a sport that season in HS. In middle school though, we were required to shower after gym, and our creepy teacher would stand outside of the showers and throw us towels as we were coming out. It was weird. What was even weirder though, was that in high school, we rarely showered after hockey practice/games unless people couldn't go home before whatever else they had to do. I don't know if you've ever been around a hockey player after a skate, but it's probably the worst smell you can have out of any sport.

Some showered after class some didn't. The shower pods were circular with the shower heads in the middle. So everyone had to face each other.

One day this guy pops a rod while showering. Well the whole place exploded with everyone is shouting "John's a fucking homo". I would have felt bad for him but he was an asshole.

I remember a few times that I made use of the showering facilities after wrestling practice. Also, there were a couple of days that I had to use them because the water pump was being replaced, along with a lot of other things in the house. In that case though, I used a separate shower that was in the coach's office. They were nowhere near me at the time. No homo and no homo.

I graduated in '89 and we had showers in the lockerroom, but no one used them. Hell, we only had 55 minutes per class. Change into your PE uniforms, call roll, get warmed up, do whatever sport we were doing that semester, then change back into our normal clothes. No time to shower if you wanted to.

We did find out that the shower water did work though when some of the alpha male sports jerk offs decided it would be fun to get a freshman wet in his regular clothes.

I played a bunch of sports and it was just a matter of necessity. When we were freshmen in the football program we had to practice before school and during first period, so your options were to take a shower or spend the rest of the day caked with mud/dirt/sweat/blood. After awhile you didn't think twice about the fact that you were standing in a room with a bunch of naked guys, and quite frankly, football practice took so much out of you the discomfort of being naked in a room full of guys didn't even come close to comparing to how simply nice it was to take a hot shower after the hell you just put your body through.

we had t.a.'s that would sit there in the locker room and check us off as we came outof the shower. there were guys that would try to just stick their head in the shower to make it look like they got in but still had their sock and tighty whiteys on. showering was part of your grade. don't shower get an f.
