You know it sucks when you work for a Fortune ranked international corporation and they can't even get your paycheck right. It's been almost a week and they've dicked myself and half a dozen others in my workcenter out of over 500-1k each. We have contract negotiations next year and they're just warming us all up by dicking us out of as much money as possible.
Seriously, WTF... can't we get a halfway decent accountant?

My personal fave is when you submit legit expenses for reimburesement in a timely fashion they way they want it and they still dick you the fuck around on paying you promptly (as in 2 weeks like they always promise to). I'd love to personally choke the shit out of several expense accountants for sure if ever given the opportunity.

This exact thing is currently happening to my ex-wife. She was supposed to get paid Friday night and she's being told it'll be tomorrow at the soonest.

My wifes old employer used to do this to her all the time. When the company went belly up, they owed her a ton of money. She kept good records, and went to labor board. She ended up getting a hefty little check.

It's looking like I'll not get paid till next week... And then no guarantee I'll get paid for that.
I swear. I swear to fucking god that if they fuck me again I will get even. It's totally unacceptable for these billion dollar faggots who run this company can't swing a thousand bucks to a guy they forced to work call outs.

You've definitely got grounds to file a grievance I would think.

When companies start doing this shit it's bad, real bad. They are most likely scampering to cook the books to fit their needs and wringing the sponge to come up with enough for payroll. I would start looking for employment elsewhere if you haven't already other wise they are going to start coming up late all the time IMHO and the excuse mill will commence, bad, bad, bad.
In todays world companies will fuck you over for a penny let alone a dime and face you with some lame ass excuse and a smile.

Well, thanks to James Earl Ray's marksmanship the possibility of me getting paid got put back another day. Still haven't gotten paid. Next paycheck is scheduled to drop in 2 days.
They wanted to dissolve the "old" company completely come 2008 so they switched over tens of thousands of people from one payroll system to another with little to no training as well as an accounting system so poorly programmed that when it would error would skip the rest of your scheduled pay period and finalize. "Oh, a differential? Syntax error. Here's 10 hours of pay for 40 hours of work. Good luck with that."
It's gotten to the point they're telling us to just put stuff into the system just to get the proper amount of pay. Real good record keeping there.
Edit: Oh, can't file a grievance because there's a "good faith" clause when it comes to pay. As long as they're working on it I have to keep working. Man, this is like being married to a hot chick who is a bitch. Can't leave and can't stand staying.

If they're a publicly traded company filing a lawsuit with this sort of embarrassing reason would almost guarantee a quiet, huge settlement with a condition of silence. They'll be so worried about making CNN and their stock prices dropping because of the lack of investor confidence they'll easily settle for high 5, low 6 figures if your case looks like it might have the legs to gain even the slightest amount of publicity. (p.s. I'm not a lawyer, I've just seen it happen a few times with different companies I was familiar with, ie, did business with these companies as part of my job)
If they're going to hold you hostage to the promise of a paycheck and a threat of non-employment, maybe you should start thinking about ways to protect yourself. Things like this are the reason those laws and those types of lawsuits exist.

union rule states "that an employer must make compensation with 48 hours of the start of the end of the pay period. if this is not done employers must deliver said compensation to employee in cash within 24 hours or face charges of violations of breach of contract."
Wow. You've got a good union. Who do you work for?

I'm no lawyer but I do believe that breach of contract allows the plantif to triple idemnity (or 300% the amount involved to cause breach)
too bad lawyers would suck that cock dry with fees, etc as they always do

I worked for a jackhole boss who decided not to pay me for three weeks... kept making excuses and when he finally cut me a check it fucking bounced.
So I quit... but not before I smashed open the locked glove compartment in his car and stole a fat bag of coke from the toot fiend. Yeah... call the cops, bitch. Go ahead.. I double dog dare ya.
I ended up selling the blow for over four times what he owed me.
