The Eagles aren't getting Dan Connor
a) He is probably higher than 19
b)The Eagles might trade the first rounder for Chad Johnson or Jared Allen
c) They are probably going to go safety or OL again.

I don't know who the Birds will pick, but I will predict he will barely get on the field during his rookie season.
Personally, I'd like to move Sheldon Brown to safety and take the highest rated corner available with that pick.
A speedy corner who can return kicks would be a real bonus.

yes, but his name is Donovan...and he's currently in Philly
I could see the Bears doing up some sort of package and wing up getting him.
I can't believe that the Giants are picking 31st, regardless of how the game winds up (Pats lost theirs cause of Spygate). I would love it if the Giants could possibly wind up with Dan Connor, but there's no chance that he falls all the way down to the last pick in the 1st round

I think that would be nonsense. They paid the price already (I'm still under the belief that other teams do this shit as well at least to the same degree).
That being said I agree with you, they will trade down and grab a few more picks to replenish the secondary and maybe grab a lineman (Matt Light should be shot).

Stupid fucking Jets. They had to go and win some games to end up out of the top 5. Figures...I can say with certainty that whoever they pick at 6 will be unmercifully booed and jeered.
Either way this tackle maybe nice, they have no fucking line and to me it seems that any of their decent players they had they find later in the rounds anyways. I say trade it down.

YAHOO SPORTS MOCK DRAFT
1. Miami (1-15)
The Pick: Chris Long, DE, Virginia
The buzz: The Dolphins need many things, and Bill Parcells may opt for Long – who may be the safest pick in this draft. We still like Matt Ryan at No. 1, so don't be surprised if Miami goes that direction.
2. St. Louis (3-13)
The Pick: Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU
The buzz: The Rams will focus on the defensive line early. Dorsey would give them an impact defender for a flexible front line.
x - 3. Atlanta (4-12)
The Pick: Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College
The buzz: The Falcons are hoping this fine leader is still on the board when they select. Ryan would allow the franchise to turn the page on the Michael Vick disaster.
x - 4. Oakland (4-12)
The Pick: Sedrick Ellis, DT, Southern Cal
The buzz: Veteran tackle Warren Sapp has joined the retirement list, and Ellis is flying up the charts.
x - 5. Kansas City (4-12)
The Pick: Jake Long, OT, Michigan
The buzz: The Chiefs' offensive line has struggled in recent seasons, and Long would be a great fit here.
6. N.Y. Jets (4-12)
The Pick: Darren McFadden, RB, Arkansas*
The buzz: The Jets may find this talented feature back available at No. 6, and they would probably jump at the chance to select him.
7. New England (From San Francisco) (5-11)
The Pick: Vernon Gholston, DE/LB, Ohio St.*
The buzz: The Patriots are looking for a young impact defender for their aging linebacker unit.
8. Baltimore (5-11)
The Pick: Brian Brohm, QB, Louisville
The buzz: The Ravens are looking for their future leader, and Brohm would be a fine start for a new offense.
9. Cincinnati (7-9)
The Pick: Keith Rivers, LB, Southern Cal
The buzz: The Bengals defense has struggled with young linebackers, and Rivers is a proven playmaker.
10. New Orleans (7-9)
The Pick: Kenny Phillips, FS, Miami*
The buzz: The Saints defense has not been performing at a playoff level, and Phillips could be a difference-maker in this secondary.
11. Buffalo (7-9)
The Pick: DeSean Jackson, WR, California*
The buzz: The Bills are looking for playmakers at wideout and in the return game, and Jackson can help in both areas.
12. Denver (7-9)
The Pick: Jeff Otah, OT, Pittsburgh
The buzz: The Broncos must improve their pass protection to be real playoff contenders. Time to throw may help Jay Cutler as much as another offensive playmaker.
13. Carolina (7-9)
The Pick: Calais Campbell, DE, Miami*
The buzz: The Panthers are looking for help on both lines, though free agency moves will dictate their early draft selections.
14. Chicago (7-9)
The Pick: Malcolm Kelly, WR, Oklahoma
The buzz: The Bears will likely lose Bernard Berrian in free agency, and Kelly would be a welcome addition.
15. Detroit (7-9)
The Pick: Ryan Clady, OT, Boise St.*
The buzz: The Lions offensive line would benefit from a top flight tackle, especially on the left side.
16. Arizona (8-8)
The Pick: Leodis McKelvin, CB, Troy
The buzz: The Cardinals defense needs another player on this young, developing unit. McKelvin is a top-flight return man who can cover.
17. Minnesota (8-8)
The Pick: Reggie Smith, CB, Oklahoma*
The buzz: The Vikings secondary lacks talent and depth. Minnesota needs to address this unit early this April.
18. Houston (8-8)
The Pick: Jonathan Stewart, RB, Oregon*
The buzz: The Texans are looking to add a young standout feature back to balance their offense.
19. Philadelphia (8-8)
The Pick: Lawrence Jackson, DE, Southern Cal
The buzz: A pass rusher like Jackson would allow the Eagles to solidify their front seven on defense.
20. Tampa Bay (9-7)
The Pick: Mike Jenkins, CB, South Florida
The buzz: The Bucs are looking to rebuild a playoff-caliber defense, especially at cornerback. The USF standout would be a fan favorite.
21. Washington (9-7)
The Pick: Derrick Harvey, DE, Florida*
The buzz: The Redskins will address the defensive line early. An impact pass rusher should be a top priority.
22. Dallas (from Cleveland (10-6))
The Pick: Aqib Talib, CB, Kansas*
The buzz: The Cowboys have big problems at cornerback, which they will likely address with one of their two first-round picks.
23. Pittsburgh (10-6)
The Pick: Chris Williams, OT, Vanderbilt
The buzz: The Steelers hope to address their offensive line early in the draft. Williams is a quality player who would help them fill a need at tackle.
24. Tennessee (10-6)
The Pick: Quentin Groves, DE, Auburn
The buzz: The Titans could face big losses on defense in free agency. That would makes this position a top priority in the Draft.
25. Seattle (10-6)
The Pick: Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Illinois*
The buzz: The Seahawks' are looking to the future here because Shaun Alexander has slipped over recent seasons.
26. Jacksonville (11-5)
The Pick: Kentwan Balmer, DT, North Carolina
The buzz: The Jaguars could surprise here with a fast-rising prospect that would fit well in their front four.
27. San Diego (11-5)
The Pick: Felix Jones, RB, Arkansas*
The buzz: The Chargers may look to add this all purpose back with veteran Michael Turner expected to leave in free agency. Keep in mind, LaDainian Tomlinson is entering his eighth season.
28. Dallas (13-3)
The Pick: Early Doucet, WR, LSU
The buzz: The Cowboys' aging receiving corps needs an influx of talent. Dallas will most likely address this position with one of their first-round picks.
29. San Francisco (From Indianapolis (13-3))
The Pick: Earl Bennett, WR, Vanderbilt*
The buzz: The 49ers have the league's weakest receiving corps and will look to address this area early and often. Alex Smith needs more options if he is to realize his pro potential.
30. Green Bay (13-3)
The Pick: Antoine Cason, CB, Arizona
The buzz: The Packers are looking to improve their playoff-caliber defense. In the NFL, you can never have too many quality cover men.
31. New England (16-0)
The Pick: Pick forfeited.
The Buzz: No first-round pick because of NFL sanctions following "Spygate" controversy.
32. NY Giants (10-6)
The Pick: Curtis Lofton, LB, Oklahoma*
The buzz: The Big Blue may lose two linebackers in free agency, and Lofton or Dan Connor could be the pick here.

I'm hearing some rumblings about Shockey being on the trading block (despite what Jerry Reese was saying earlier in the offseason) & on NFL Live they were saying that they wouldn't be surprised to see Jason Taylor moved from the Dolphins. Lastly, I also heard mention of Jason Allen getting traded from the Chiefs...maybe to the Vikings. But it'd be an expensive venture...their 1st round pick and a couple of 3rds
You Know Him

supposedly Shockey is interested in going to the Saints, because the Saints actually offered a deal for Shockey to the Giants within the last few months and the G-Men declined.

yeah, apparently potential trades are gonna make this draft fun especially because they dropped it to only 10 minutes between picks
John Clayton has an article out about it (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft08/columns/story?columnist=clayton_john&id=3356605)
As the NFL draft approaches, story lines -- some new, others old -- have emerged to pique interest.
For the first time since 2003, a trade involving a top-seven pick could happen. Meanwhile, Radio City Music Hall, home of the two-day event that starts Saturday at 3 p.m. ET, could experience great drama if Darren McFadden slips out of the top five.
Simply put, this draft is fascinating. Miami Dolphins executive Bill Parcells has everyone guessing regarding his intentions for the No. 1 pick. The Falcons, loaded with four of the top 48 picks, hope to be the draft's big winners. But events over the past week have intensified the intrigue swirling around the draft.
Here are the top-five story lines:
A possible Jared Allen trade: The Kansas City Chiefs may let Allen, the league's leading sacker, slip out of town. On Thursday the Chiefs confirmed they are listening to offers for their franchise defensive end. Allen had a great visit to Minnesota over the weekend. Both sides talked parameters of a contract, but no deal was struck. Allen's plan is to visit Tampa Bay soon. The Chiefs would receive two first-round picks -- the price of a franchise player -- if they let Allen sign with either team.
Trading into the top seven: The New Orleans Saints, owners of the No. 10 pick, might do it. They are interested in trading with the Rams to get the No. 2 pick and take defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey. The Rams haven't gotten back to the Saints to indicate whether they would consider a trade.
The Darren McFadden story: Many believe McFadden is the most talented athlete in the draft, but there are questions about his character, including a fight in January outside a bar in Arkansas. He wasn't charged. His selection is the biggest drama in the draft. Act 1 will start at the No. 4 pick. Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis may have visions of Bo Jackson in looking at McFadden's ability to break long touchdown runs. Even though the Raiders have Justin Fargas, Dominic Rhodes, Michael Bush and LaMont Jordan, Davis could pick McFadden over Chris Long at No. 4.
Quarterback maneuverings: As many as five teams could be angling for quarterbacks: Atlanta, Miami, Baltimore, Carolina and the Jets. If Jake Long and Dorsey are off the board after two selections, the Falcons might settle for quarterback Matt Ryan of Boston College. If not, Ryan could fall to the Baltimore Ravens at No. 8 and replace Steve McNair, who retired last week.
Draft economics: Owners believe they are drowning in the rookie pool. Agents have been so creative with clauses and ways to get around the rookie pool that the price of the first pick is now $10 million a year. The Raiders had to wait to September to sign quarterback JaMarcus Russell to a six-year, $61 million with $32 million in guarantees. Economics are already playing into this year's first pick. The Dolphins would like to get Jake Long signed to a deal before the draft, but they also would like to move the first-pick contract number downward.
Because of the ridiculous cost of high draft choices, teams at the top want to trade down while few teams want to move up and pay the high prices. Draft economics have limited the number of trades at the top of the draft. How bad have things gotten? The Patriots appeared to have hit the lottery in getting the No. 7 pick in the draft from the 49ers, but No. 7 picks now get $40 million contracts. The Patriots, like most teams, aren't sure if any player at that part of the draft is worth it.

Thats interesting. I figure the Jets will probably take somebody in the late rounds. I wouldn't mind them drafting Henne but they may go with someone else. I think they're going to pass on McFadden and get Gholston.

I really want to take the Wonderlic so I can put it into perspective. If Vince Young can score a 7, Manningham scores a 6, and Peyton just misses a perfect 50...I'm pretty sure I could hit at least 47

I don't care if he's a pothead, but he did lie to everyone about it. And apparently he's retarded with a 6 on the Wonderlic. But who knows what that proves.

The ninth month of the year is? WOW, Multiple choice by the way.
According to WIKI,While an average football player usually scores around 20 points, Wonderlic, Inc. claims a score of at least 10 points suggests a person is literate. Furthermore, when the test was given to miscellaneous people of various professions, it was observed that the average participant scored a 24. Examples of scores from everyday professions included:
Chemist - 31
Programmer - 29
Journalist - 26
Sales - 24
Bank teller - 22
Clerical worker - 21
Security guard - 17
Warehouse - 15
"10 points suggests a person is literate"
Does that mean "Football Literate" or just plain literate?
Because if Mario got a 6, he really must be retarded.

I really don't think the wonderlic test means anything when it translates to how good a football player is going to be. I will say this, I have been a football fan since 1982, the first time I ever heard about the wonderlic test was two years ago with Vince Young. Even if Vince Young turns out to be an average quarterback and I think the jury is still out on him, it will have nothing do with that test.
I really have no problem with the Dolphins taking Jake Long as #1. I think its a solid and safe pick. To be honest, I think the best way to build a football team is start with both the offensive and defensive lines.

I hate mock drafts. I'll wait for the real thing.
I pretty much agree with you. but I give credence to one or two people when it comes to mock drafts. Jay Glazer is one of the guys, whose opinions I actually respect, because he usually has all the scoops on the major stories in the NFL (Mario Williams over Reggie Bush). He also knows what he is talking about it, when it comes to the tendencies of teams, because he spends so much time around them.
Here is his Mock Draft
http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8071942/Get-your-mitts-on-Jay's-mock-draft#
1. Dolphins — Michigan tackle Jake Long. We're going to guess on this one but I think we'll get it accurate. OK, got one right. Hallelujah.
2. Rams — Virginia defensive end Chris Long. This is the most integral pick on the board. It swings the rest of the draft because if they go with Long then there's a battle at 3 for Glenn Dorsey and Matt Ryan. Two weeks ago Glenn Dorsey seemed like he would be their guy. This week they moved to Long, who makes more sense for their defense. If they drafted Dorsey they'd have to change the way their defensive front lines up and plays and kick Adam Carriker outside to end in pass rushing situations. Plus, Long is a guy who loves the fourth quarter, a trait that would not be bad to rub off on the rest of the locker room. Although Long seemed like a lock as of Wednesday, there has been some sentiment that has swung back to Dorsey. I'm going Long with my pick but have a feeling they'll swing back to Dorsey by the time they write the name on the card.
3. Falcons — LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey. Falcons had been unanimous for weeks until the team doctors gave a caution about Dorsey's leg, which they said could become problematic in a few years (he has a stress fracture in one leg that will need to get taken care of). If both he and Matt Ryan are on the board there will be a major discussion. Dorsey is rated higher but Ryan doesn't have an injury concern. In the end they may lean toward Ryan but that will screw up the rest of my mock so I'll keep Dorsey here.
4. Raiders — Ohio State defensive end Vernon Gholston. Could also go with running back Darren McFadden. Who knows what Al Davis does?
5. Chiefs — Virginia offensive lineman Branden Albert. They are hoping that Chris Long drops down to this spot but that's 50-50 at best. The team's ultimate goal is to trade down and get enough ammo to trade into the late first round to come away with three first-rounders. Could also go Boise State tackle Ryan Clady. If New England loves a guy here they could leap-frog the Jets and swap with Kansas City.
6. Jets — Arkansas running back Darren McFadden. If McFadden goes to the Raiders and Long is off the board then the Jets try to move back or go Gholston. McFadden makes the most sense and they just loaded up on O-line and have questions at quarterback so a franchise running back would make all the sense in the world. They don't go Matt Ryan.
7. Patriots — USC linebacker Keith Rivers. There are also rumors they could go corner this high but that's not the way they've done business in recent years. They have also talked to teams about jumping into the top five and make a play for Dorsey but that sounds more like a smoke screen than anything.
8. Ravens — Boston College quarterback Matt Ryan. If he's not here, the Ravens already have a deal in place to drop back a couple of slots and acquire another draft pick.
9. Bengals — USC defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis. Their biggest need gets filled by a tremendous prospect. They had Derrick Harvey as their guy as early as late this week but since moved to Ellis. Also like Illinois running back Rashard Mendenhall.
10. Saints — Troy cornerback Leodis McKelvin. Saints are trying to trade up for either Dorsey or Ellis but if they stay, McKelvin should be their guy. Late this week, head coach Sean Payton took wide receivers David Patten and Devery Henderson, quarterback Tyler Palko, a corner and a few coaches and put McKelvin and two other corners through intense personal workouts. McKelvin emerged as the best and most ready for prime time of the bunch. Still, I think the Saints somehow work a trade to move up for a defensive tackle.
11. Bills — Tennessee State cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Bills usually take someone nobody else has rated as highly but this one wouldn't be a reach. Could also see them going after a wideout, even though this would be too high to pick one.
12. Denver — Boise State tackle Ryan Clady. I could see Denver trading back with someone here instead or going with another lineman. There are also strong trade winds that they'll look to grab a top-notch running back like Jonathan Stewart or Rashard Mendenhall as they know they can't trust Travis Henry long-term.
13. Panthers — Florida defensive end Derrick Harvey. He fits my mock here but I'm starting to lean like they will look at an offensive tackle and a running back in this slot and have a big discussion when on the clock. They already have an offer to move out if they believe they can get one of three guys down the board. One rumor I can shoot down is that they will trade up for Matt Ryan. Jake Delhomme is their guy, period.
14. Bears — Illinois running back Rashard Mendenhall. Team needs help in many areas but more than anything, they need a running back to bail out whichever young quarterback they decide to go with. Could also go O-line here.
15. Lions — Oregon running back Jonathan Stewart. They like Harvey, but he'll likely be gone and if Mendenhall is sitting there, he makes sense too. There are still concerns about Stewart's injured toe, but if he's healthy, he's a steal.
16. Cardinals — Pittsburgh lineman Jeff Otah. Has the same agent as both the team's head coach and Russ Grimm, their line coach. Perfect fit but there's a strong chance he'll be gone by here. Some teams have discussed jumping up to trade for him a few picks earlier.
17. Chiefs — South Florida cornerback Mike Jenkins. They want to come away in the first round with a starting DE, OT and CB. They like McKelvin best but they'd have to go much higher for him. Chiefs will have a very active Saturday afternoon.
18. Texans — Kansas cornerback Aqib Talib. Only Cincinnati and Buffalo were worse against the pass in the AFC than Houston last season.
19. Eagles — Vanderbilt tackle Chris Williams. The world thinks they go wide receiver in first round. I don't, simply because they are never this obvious.
20. Bucs — Michigan State wide receiver Devin Thomas. They need an upgrade at the position. If they can come away from the draft with a wide receiver and Lito Sheppard, even though he doesn't fit Monte Kiffin's mold for a corner in his scheme, they've upgraded.
21. Redskins — Clemson defensive end Phillip Merling. They need a pass rusher and will also look at a wide receiver.
22. Dallas — Arkansas running back Felix Jones. Makes sense as they need a change of pace back to complement Marion Barber.
23. Pittsburgh — Boston College tackle Gosder Cherilus. They would love for Stewart to drop here, but that is unlikely. If he does, they take him. They also love Indiana wide receiver James Hardy and a few other wideouts but they really want a lineman or pass rusher. They also like Miami defensive end Calais Campbell.
24. Titans — Oklahoma wide receiver Malcolm Kelly. They'll have a handful of wideouts to choose from here. Despite horrible reports about his workout, teams believe he'll be a stud on the next level.
25. Seahawks — North Carolina defensive tackle Kentwan Balmer. They haven't locked in on any one or two players, but instead will pick the best value left.
26. Jaguars — Arkansas State safety Tyrell Johnson. Would look at defensive end and safety here.
27. Chargers — Indiana wide receiver James Hardy. They love taking those tough, gritty linemen and would hope one slips here. Could also go wide receiver and want to come out of the draft with a replacement for departed running back Michael Turner.
28. Cowboys — Texas wide receiver Limas Sweed. Wrist problem hurt his draft stock but size-speed ratio is extremely enticing. Good kid too.
29. 49ers — Tennessee linebacker Jerod Mayo. Great value here. If he's gone they'll hope a tackle such as Cherilus or Williams could drop to them. They won't go Sweed here, which seems to be the popular pick in most mocks.
30. Packers — Purdue tight end Dustin Keller. They'd love to come out of the draft at one point with a backup QB as well.
31. Patriots — Matt Walsh (just kidding). Forfeited pick.
32. Giants — Miami safety Kenny Phillips. They need to replace Gibril Wilson and Phillips and Johnson are the only two safeties with first-round grades.

I do too, but I dont think Matt Ryan justifies a #3 pick. He might just be Joey Harrington.
The Falcons should just take Brohm or Flacco later(both better than Ryan) than wasting a #3 pick against a guy who's numbers were terrible against any decent team.

yeah, if i'm Al Davis...i am DRAFTING Darren Mcfadden.....no doubt about it...that guy is something special...(see Arkansas/LSU game)
and SO true about Matt Ryan...he probably will end up being the next david carr/joey harrington...honestly i like Flacco more....
and are my eyes fucking with me? the last mock draft ESPN had scrolling was the Texans selecting rashad mendenhall at 18....HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?!

I think that's what the Giants want in return and the Saints don't want to move Harper
I don't know if I'd draft McFadden if I was the Raiders. If I was the Jets? Yeah. If I'm the Raiders then I draft Dorsey.
Also, I'm 100% convinced that Matt Ryan is a prospect that was fully created by ESPN because they knew they had a lot of BC games and he had that cakewalk schedule early on.
Mortensen: Ryan is like Carson Palmer without the big arm.
So, he's a decent QB without his best weapon, that says a lot.

I think Jerry knows he can't get a 1st round pick for Shockey...but Shockey & a 5th for a high #2 & a starting safety I think could be a viable trade. Maybe swap positions in a later round too. It doesn't help that Shockey's got a bad case of the dropsies & has never played a full 16 game season

I think he's more hype. I liked him early in his career but the past few seasons he hasn't done anything except talk and drop passes. A Starting S and a #2 might be a lil much. Maybe a starting S and Swap #2 plus a #5-7 would be fair imo
I'm at the point with this giants team that just give me picks. I have confidence in the front office to turn them into worthwhile pieces.
