This guy cut me off the other day and i honked at him and since then he's been stalking me..

i dont know him, never seen him before, dont even know why the hell h e wont let it go...

Its a long story of how he followed me and its quite weird because he was in front of me and challenging me to pull ahead of him when I pulled into a turning lane and he went into the parking lot at a donut place on the street i was turning onto and waited for me at the exit...I turned my right blinker on and a trucker let me get back over to go straight...he caught up with me on a different street and i ended up calling my mom (who owns a bar) and told her what was happening...she got like 10 people that were in the bar to sit outside and wait for me to drive by...when i did teh guy followed me around the block and my mom got his plate number..

The next day on my way home from school with my luck i ended up behind him...i couldnt believe it...he pulled over and that forced me to keep goin because there were people riding my ass..after i drove by him he put his blinker on to let everyone know he wanted to get back into teh lane..like 5 cars behind me he got back in but i lost him...

I need help though because the cops wont do anything because he technically hasnt done anything to harm me..

I wanna get a look up on his plate number to find out who the fuck this guy is and why the fuck hes following me because i honked at him (he fucking almost hit me when he cut me off...anyone would have honked)...

come on wackbaggers, somone has to know how to do a license lookup for free...i tried to do a google search but these sites want anywhere from 40-100 dollars a plate!! Thats insane!!

Whats insane is this story and that guy. Holy shit what a nut. I have a friend from high school who used to work at the DMV. I will check to see if she still works there. If so, she will look it up for me. I will let you know in a day or so, then you can send me the plate number and stuff. But if anyone else can help sooner, go for it.

dear god that is fucking nuts..
if you can for now have someone be in the car with you.. just to be on the safe side.. or try to ask your mom if you can use her car just something to give you some kind of ease.
do your best to be calm sherwood.
*hugs*

Here are a few suggeestions:

1) Trade cars with someone temporarily (as others suggested).

2) Find a sympathetic police officer (they are out there), explain the situation. Any cop who is half-decent will go talk to the guy (on or off the record).

3) If he does show up and start following you, call your Mom and have her recruit several large gentlemen (preferably bikers) who patronize her establishment to meet you somewhere. Basicaly, let the guy follow you there so that he can catch the beating he so richly deserves.

4) Carry a baseball bat in your car.

BTW, this is yet another example as to why ALL law-abiding citizens should carry a firearm for personal protection at all times.

Yes, they ARE out there.Ask family or friends if they know any. When I use to work for the phone company, they use to ask ME if I could get unlisted phone numbers for them.Damn, I wish town hall didn't lay me off.I could have help you out.But ask around.See if you can talk with one on a friendly basis.Just because nothings happened yet, you have no idea how sick this maniac can be.Be safe.

Sherwood, I'm alittle concerned here that law enforcement won't interfere. I know all you young folks carry cell-phones, but if you do not, borrow someones, this could save you, if you can, do not ride alone anymore.

This is definately a dangerous situation ( I know, I live in the Washington DC area) The road rage that goes on here is devastating - people die.

I agree with Resin, there's gotta' be someone who can help you. If not, I also agree with #3, no violence, just let this asshole know someone's got your back and you ain't takin' his shit. But 1st, go with Resin on this. Then, if all else fails.

I really dont know New Yorks laws but the law here in PA states this for harassment and stalking.

Harassment: A person commits the crime of harassment when, with intent to harass, annoy or alarm another, the person:follows the other person in or about a public place. Engages in a course of conduct or repeatedly commits acts which serve no legitimate purpose.

Stalking: A person commits the crime of stalking when he engages in a course of conduct or repeatedly commits acts towards another person, including following the person without proper authority, under circumstances which demonstrate either of the following: 1. an intent to place the person in reasonable fear of bodily injury. 2. or an intent to cause substantial emotional distress to the person

Also if this guy keeps on doing this keep a notebook and pen in your car and write down the time it happen, where, description of him and his car and anything else you think might be helpful. And keep contacting the police every time it happens even if they say they cant do anything about it at least they will have it on record. And please dont make contact with the guy he might be some wack job. Good luck.

Well thank you so much for the suggestions...

Heres whats goin on and some responses to everyone:

1) I talked to my friend, his dad is a cop he said that unless the guy actually does somthin to harm me there is really nothing they can do because there is no evidence.

2) My mom talked called a friend of hers who is a state trooper and im waiting for him to get back.

3) My cousin is a state trooper out in Jamestown..I will call him if my moms friend cant help.

4) I do carry a cell phone and that is what saved me the other day when he was following me.

5) My mom's bar doesnt consist of bikers...the people that go there are all talk, but it doesnt matter because all that guy has to see is a group of people, and I learned that the other day..

The good news is I didnt see him at all today...I hope he decided I wasnt worth it because all i did was beep my little tracker horn when he almost hit me..

I dont have a baseball bat in there but i will be buying a mag lite flash light soon :)

Definatly the way to go. And when the Recruits are done with him just stand over him and say "Sorry, did I annoy you?"

I have the 6 D cell Mag Light wedged in between the driver's seat and the trim below the car door. Keep it packed with Duracell alkaline batteries, (I was told the Kodak alkaliine batteries are a little heavier). If you use it for self defence just make sure you use the back end of the flashlight, that way you dont break the lense and the bulb.
If he's a big guy, fake a swing for the head and bust his knee cap, he will go down fast and hard, (unless he has a wooden leg).
The problem with carring a baseball bat is the Police will say it's a weapon and it was premeditated. The beauty of the Mag Lite is that it's a piece of saftey equipment, (with a dual purpose).
Good luck.
