Still partial to SCSA vs Rock at WMX7, but that's mainly because you can see both of them blading.

The best match I ever saw had to be Brock Lesnar vs Bill Goldberg @ Wrestlemania XX. That was such a fuckin awesome match. They stood there for like 5 min and did nothing, then Goldberg pinned Brock Lesnar.
Seriously, one of the best matches I ever saw that nobody mentioned yet was Macho Man vs Ric Flair at Wrestlemania VIII (for those of you who never took Latin, yes I took Latin in high school, VIII means 8, and XX means 20). I dont understand why they had it so early in the show, though. They shoulda had it the last match, cause Hogan vs Sid sucked. Oh wow, Hogan won by DQ. Big deal. Macho Man vs Ric Flair was the best match that night, besides Shawn Michaels vs Tito Santana.

Michaels/Hart iron man at WM12.
I was 9 at the time I saw it live. It brought tears to my eyes when Michaels won.

That was a good match but I think the dropped angle ruined it a bit for me. IIRC Flair was promising to reveal something shocking about Elizabeth during the match and nothing happened.
No one mentioned it the day of that was it, kinda took away from the build up.
I remember being happy with the match though b/c i had seen the matchup at a house show and they did a dusty finish i was glad to see they switched it up for WM.
Hogan-Sid ended the match b/c it was the set up for the return of the Ultimate Warrior, the mathc didn't matter it was the set up for the Warrior since Hogan was retiring...of ocurse like 2 weeks later Warrior went to his old ways and was fired or something but thats niether here nor there i understand why they did it.

Ironically since I want him to retire, Flair is involved in 2 of them:
Ric Flair vs Barry Windham-I saw it when I was younger and it was for the NWA title. It was also a year before Barry joined the Horseman. The match went 60 minutes and I believed it was a draw.
Ric Flair vs Kerry Von Erich-Kerry Von Erich won the title after his brother, David died.
Bret Hart vs Shawn Micheals-Iron Man match WM 12, nuff said.
That's just 3 I can think of right now.

really any steamboat/flair for me
steamboat/savage was really good too
as i seem to recall the ultimate warrior hung around a bit after wm viii, at least through summerslam. i could be mistaken but savage defended the title against him which ended in a nc or dq. i remember savage coming to and seeing the warrior out in the middle of the ring. instead of dropping the big elbow on him he dropped the axe handle on whoever was outside...flair i think.
when i was little it was hogan/warrior at wm vi. i was a huge hogan mark back then and just ate up the hype. nobody made an entrance like hogan did back in the day with the crowd going nuts. i'm sure if i go back and watch that now i'd just see two roided men butcher professional wrestling but back then that was huge for me.

Best TV match I ever saw:
Diesel/Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon/1-2-3 Kid for the tag titles on the 2nd episode of WWF Action Zone in 1994.
Fantastic match with tons of back and forth action, false finishes, and drama (was the 2nd of 3 times HBK accidentally superkicked Diesel leading to the breakup) and really showed how motivated when four guys who are close friends get an opportunity to tear the house down.
I actually bought a WWF VHS on eBay specifically for that match and hope to get it on DVD someday.

A couple the come to my limited wrestling experienced mind is Hogan vs Andre the Giant in Wrestlemania III. At least in terms of drama and excitement. As a youngster watching Hulk Hogan doing the impossible by picking up Andre the Giant and body slamming him was great.
Another one that comes to mind is the first ladder match between Edge and Christian vs the Hardy Boys. That entire match was on the edge of someone getting seriously hurt.

I have 2 votes, because I saw both live and was totally hooked
Jericho vs. HHH on Raw: This is the match where Earl fast counted and Jericho won the title only to have it reversed at the end of the night. I still get faggy goosebumps when I watch that ending. The crowd pop was the biggest I've ever seen on a non PPV match.
Michaels/Razor WM10 Ladder Match: Totally innovative and well worked. Any match with Shawn is good but this one was his best. Bumps like that were unheard of at that time and the story line was great.

Ric Flair vs Kerry Von Erich-Kerry Von Erich won the title after his brother, David died.
Bret Hart vs Shawn Micheals-Iron Man match WM 12, nuff said.
That Flair/Von Erich match is memorable for the best finish of all-time and one of my longest running jokes of my life, Flair getting beat my a fucking backslide. The guy kicked out of and escaped from everything but gets beaten by a fucking backslide. I was like eight or nine when I saw it (a few years after it happened) and just couldn't believe it. A backslide?
The Hart/HBK Iron Match is overrated in my eyes. The fact that it was an Iron Man Match took away some of the drama that those two guys could have done on their own in a non-gimmick match. I liked their match at Survivor Series ('92?) right after Shawn had won the IC belt from Davey Boy. The way Bret finished that match was awesome.

The three PPVs headlined by Steamboat/Savage in '89 are my favorites, with Wrestle War (Flair winning it back and then getting the shit kicked out of him by Terry Funk) being the tops.
You are correct about Warrior and Savage at Summerslam. Warrior was gone shortly afterwards since he had held Vince up for more money. Also, you can go back and rewatch Hogan/Warrior. It was probably one of the best matches for either guy thanks in part to being fully scripted by Pat Patterson beforehand and rehearsed. I don't believe I've ever marked out more as a kid than when Warrior won the title. It was epic.

Oh shit, I think you're right. Flair for the Gold was with race. The Flair steamboat starrcade I was thinking of was the one the promoted as "The Final Countdown". They even had a video montage of their prior matches done to the song with that name. Ha ha, nice pick up.
