Ain't that the pot calling the kettle ******:
Sharpton to Bill Clinton: 'Shut Up'
January 28, 2008 2:32 PM
ABC News' Rick Klein Reports: Rev. Al Sharpton on Monday weighed in on the raging debate inside the Democratic Party over former President Bill Clinton's advocacy on behalf of his wife's campaign, with two choice words for the former president: "Shut up."
On ABC's "The View," Sharpton said voters are hearing "race charges, race-tinged rhetoric" in the Democratic primary campaign, and called on the former president to cease.
"I think it's time for him to just be quiet," said Sharpton, who was a Democratic presidential candidate in 2004. "I think it's time for him to stop. As one of the most outspoken people in America, there's a time to shut up, and I think that time has come."
Sharpton didn't say which comments in particular bothered him. But many Democrats were particularly upset that the former president made an explicit comparison of Obama's campaign to Jesse Jackson's victories in South Carolina in 1984 and 1988, in an apparent attempt to explain why his wife didn't win the South Carolina primary on Saturday.
For his part, Jackson told The New York Times that he wasn't bothered by the comparison. Still, he told the newspaper that he had spoken to both Obama and President Clinton over the weekend, and told both to "take it to a higher ground."

This basically is the pot calling the kettle black. Do I agree with what the Clintons are doing, No. Do I understand it, Yes. Because they are just like every other politician, doing what it takes to win. Will it work, I don't think so. So I say Bill, keep running your mouth. P.S. Memo to Al, why don't you, follow your own advice sometime.

yeah but that goes two ways. if anyone but the clintons pulled this shit most liberals would throw them to the wolves and disown them. the clintons benefit from a blind loyalty I would argue is even more unreasonable than support for Obama based on race and presentation

I have to be honest. I can't comment on this objectively. I dislike Al sharpton too much.
I don't care if you like or hate Clinton. The man was a world leader and has far more legitimate credentials to comment on politics, world events, etc. I am utterly amazed that ANYONE listens to the good Reverand, much less allows him to dictate social policy.
It is pathetically embarrassing that this joke has any power in this country or any communities.

Barack Obama is now associated with Al Sharpton....Bye bye.

See that's what I was worried about at first and thought the last thing Barack needed was Sharpton's endorsement. But since you have established Democrats throwing their support behind Barack, Sharpton basically becomes irrelevant.

Barack made no overtures to Rev Al. Al sees where his bread is buttered, leaping onto it like the parasite he is.

do you really think established democrat or republican support means anything? are most people that stupid they cant make up their own minds and thus blindly follow someone else because they support them. if thats true i hate people more and more

Me personally, no I don't think that. I'm not voting for someone just because someone else endorsed that candidate. But I'm not going to downplay the role, endorsements and support play in politics. Not from private citizens, such as celebrities, but from fellow politicians. Like it or not politics is a fraternal organization, its been like that for ages.
