and THAT'S why people are pissed. Wrestlemania title matches should ONLY be one on one non gimmick matches.

Triple Threat matches at Wrestlemania are overplayed. How many is this now in the past five years? Its fucking redundant. The problem is that they will want Cena/Triple H to take them to June and don't want the build to Wrestlemania to strictly be them. They need Orton in it to keep it fresh.

His inclusion in that match just spoils it for me. I was curious to see how they would handle the match since Triple H would be the dominant face. Would they turn Cena? Would they turn Triple H? Now we don't get the answer to that. Instead, we get Orton. Motherfuckers.

I never thought I'd be looking towards the Undertaker match at Mania to be the one to make the show but with Edge I think the match has a real strong chance to be huge.

If they don't have Hardy take Money in th eBank at Mania, and either do a swerve where he wins the title after the main event at Mania, or at least set up a build to a title shot at SummerSlam, then they are dumber than even I think they are.

http://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.asp?id=29158&p=1

The XPW: Cold Day in Hell revival event will take place 5/24 at Aviation Park in Redondo Beach, CA, with the event being taped for a Big Vision Entertainment DVD release. Talent scheduled thus far for the event are Sabu,The Sandman, a Gangstas reunion with New Jack and Mustafa teaming for the first time in nearly a decade, Vampiro, Psicosis, Supreme, Homeless Jimmy, Vic Grimes, Kaos, Pogo the Clown, Angel, Nosawa, Tool, GQ Money, and Altar Boy Luke. It's pretty impressive that they found Mustafa because Hardcore Homecoming wanted him bad for a Gangstas reunion in 2005 and were unable to track him down. Breaking News - Floyd Mayweather To Compete At Wrestlemania

Written by: Amish Patel - February 18th, 2008

Credit: Prowrestling.NET

- It is being reported by Jason Powell that Floyd Mayweather's appearance at No Way Out yesterday wasn't a one-off deal and that the boxing superstar is scheduled to wrestle at Wrestlemania.

Mayweather is likely to be partnered by Rey Mysterio, if he is cleared to compete, in a tag-team match against Big Show and a tag partner.

Nothing is set in stone at the moment but the creative team are said to be working with numerous possibilities, with Shane McMahon and MVP touted as possible partners to team with Show.

So this is what im expecting on Raw tonight.

Show opens- Cena comes out, talk, says how he was screwed out of the title, demands title shot.
HHH come out, says that he one last night, blah blah blah
Randy- Comes out says a bunch of stuff about he has the title.
Regal- Announces that there is going to be a triple threat at WM24

Also does anyone know what brand Big Show is going to be on?

Article about Big Show's return-

As we noted here on the site late last night, The Big Show made his big return to WWE at No Way Out last night. After Edge defeated Rey Mysterio, his music hit and he came down to the ring. Show has lost an incredible amount of weight - 108 pounds, according to him! Big Show vowed to be a WWE champion again. He said he's "Faster, leaner and ready to be back in WWE". He then jumped to the outside of the ring proceeded to kick the hell out of the injured Rey Mysterio. He grabbed him by the throat and began smacking his injured arm. He threw Mysterio into the ring and was about to chokeslam him. Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, who was ringside, jumped into the ring to stop him. The two then had a major staredown. Big Show shoved Mayweather. Big Show then got down on his knees and taunted Mayweather to punch him. Mayweather landed a sick combination to Show's face - busting him open big time. Show was bleeding heavily from his nose and mouth. Mayweather and his crew ran from the ring and into the crowd as Big Show chased after them. Shane McMahon calmed Big Show down in the crowd. Big Show was bleeding heavily from the nose and mouth. Big Show was taken backstage and diagnosed with a legit Broken nose from the stiff punches.

Regarding the Big Show vs. Mayweather thing, The reason why they did that is because Big Show when he was away from the WWE tried to start a boxing Carrier, which failed. So i guess they are trying to in corperate that, which i find good because, i like Floyd.

I would assume that Big Show coming back early was to sell the Rey injury and Mayweather was used mostly because the ppv was here in Las Vegas and he is a local celeb who is at least a legit tough guy.

I find this line of reasoning specious at best.

Cena's already a main eventer. So is HHH. They've both been champs multiple times already. There's no harm in giving the belt to Hardy, because the guy's white hot at the moment, it's something the fans want, and it would help him break through and become a legit superstar. What's wrong with creating ANOTHER main eventer, especially one that the fans really care about? We're at a point now where precious little these days really excites people about the WWE, but Hardy does. So fucking run with it, instead of putting the belt on HHH because "hey, he hasn't had it in a while". Who fucking cares? If he never won the title again, I could care less, but that's besides the point. The point is, what's better for the business now, Hardy on top or HHH with another pointless, tedious reign.

The answer is Hardy. And again, I say that as someone who's not really a fan of the guy at all. I just see the WWE pissing away yet ANOTHER golden opportunity in order to push one of the already established WWE workers who don't need that sort of push whatsoever.

With all of the problems that Jeff has given them in the past I am not surprised that they would be skeptical to just hand him the belt. He needs to show consistent good behavior (I know, it didn't stop Orton) and maintain his current pop. I don't think they will lose at all if they keep building Hardy (mic skills, etc) and give it to him at Summerslam or Survivor Series.

I sure hope so, but they will have to keep booking him like last night where he didn't get hurt by the loss. If they aren't careful, they will totally botch the chance they have to put another guy in that top tier.

I agree with you. But they also could be hold off on giving Hardy the belt because he is wrestling with some pretty bad injuries, in my opinion. two ruptured discs in his back and neck. and he also has weak ankles. So they also could be holding off on giving him the title because of those injuries, because they would require surgery if chosen upon. They might not want Hardy to have a short title reign, because he would be view as a transitional champion.

Raw Elimination Chamber- I didnt have a chance to watch them all because i have a sucky internet connection so i dont know if they are consistent they are but here you go.

triple threat match @ Wrestlemania

OBVIOUSLY they didn't expect John Cena to come back. Triple H was supposed to win the Rumble, there was supposed to be 1 elimination chamber, and Taker was supposed to win that.

The smackdown main event was supposed to be (and is) Edge vs Undertaker
The Raw main event was supposed to be Triple H vs either Orton or Jeff Hardy (most likely Orton)

Hulk Hogan Says He Wants To Fight Ric Flair At WrestleMania
02/19/2008 by Ryan Clark

Just days after claiming that he is on the verge of starting his own wrestling promotion with Eric Bischoff, Hulk Hogan now says that he wants to fight Ric Flair at WrestleMania.

Hogan told MTV.com, "they need a main event real bad, brother" and said WWE still has a lot of tickets to sell. Hogan said that with Flair's career on the line, it's the perfect match to have - and he even has an idea for who could be the special guest referee. “Either he’ll put me out for good or I’ll put him out for good. One or the other. That would be the match of the new millennium. Hogan vs. Flair. Maybe get Vince McMahon as a special guest referee. Me and Flair both hate Vince.”

With the involvement of boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather at WrestleMania, it looks like Hogan has realized that WrestleMania will be a success with or without him. With minimal leverage, he's putting his cards on the table and showing that he does still want a piece of the action.

Brain injury fears for Hornswoggle
Written: February 19, 2008

Finlay carries away a battered Hornswoggle after he was mauled by JBL.

ANAHEIM, Calif. – WWE.com talked to officials at the local medical facility where Hornswoggle has been evaluated since being brutalized by JBL last night on Raw. Hornswoggle’s condition, officials say, has stabilized, and he is no longer in shock. However, Mr. McMahon's illegitimate son is still drifting in and out of consciousness.

A source close to the situation told WWE.com that Hornswoggle’s condition may be related to his head and internal injuries suffered at the hands of JBL. It is feared, the source said, that he may be suffering from bleeding on the brain.

Stay with WWE.com for further updates on Hornswoggle’s condition as they become available.

nah...no matter what if Flair loses at WM it's going to be upstaged by the fact that it's WM. I'd rather see Flair win the big match, then the next night retire on his on terms at Raw, maybe dedicate an hour of the show to him and let him go out in style.

QFT. Even though, you know 16 years ago, the match would have wound up in a draw. Plus there is already one bathroom break match (Mayweather vs Big Show), the second one should not be Flair's retirement match. Speaking of Flair, since he is going to the HOF, for selfish reasons, can they induct Barry Windham and Arn Anderson in as well.

I had to turn the channel during the Hornswaggle thing. Not because I felt bad because of a midget be getting beaten up. It was out of anger, that this storyline is still going on and I was about to throw my remote control into the TV.

Xpac attempt suicide--
Sean "Xpac" Waltman Found Hanging Before He Went To Rehab
02/22/2008 by Keelan Balderson

Source: Wrestling Observer

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the Sean "Xpac" Waltman suicide rumor, first brought up by Juventud Guerrera was in fact true. Waltman's girlfriend Alicia "Ryan Shamrock" Webb reportedly found him hanging in his Mexico City apartment on the verge of death; luckily she got there in time.

It is believed that he received medical help and then Kevin Nash got in touch with Triple H to sort out the WWE paid rehab that Waltman is now undertaking.

Fellow Mexican star Juventud Guerrera originally told the media about this story but Waltman denied it, saying he had a bad reaction with antidepressants and alcohol.

The father of Webb's children is currently trying to get his kids back from Mexico, obviously worried under the circumstances.

More Very Disturbing News On Sean 'X-Pac' Waltman
02/22/2008 by Ryan Clark

Sean Waltman is in a rehab facility in Texas. Kevin Nash flew to Texas a few weeks back to check him in for both psychiatric care and rehab. Nash reportedly contacted Triple H to get the wheels in motion for WWE to pay for his rehab. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Nash was also instrumental in getting Scott Hall to agree to rehab.

The Observer also reports that girlfriend (an ex-WWF diva) Alicia Webb discovered Waltman, in his Mexico City apartment, noly alive after allegedly attempting to hang himself, in a manner similiar to Chris Benoit's suicide. When she found him, he was purple and had broken blood vessels in his eye and face. Waltman has denied this report, and claims he had a bad reaction from mixing alcohol and antidepressants.

The father of Webb's children, once he got word of the story, went on MySpace and asked for help bringing his children back from Mexico. Webb is said to be paranoid about going on the road with AAA fearing someone might take her kids.

Big Show Assigned To Brand, Stacy Keibler On TV Show
02/23/2008 by Keelan Balderson

- The Big Show has now officially been added to the Smackdown brand, although that means he can still show up in ECW and probably Raw as well. The brands are pretty limitless these days.

- In the "October Road" episode entitled "The Fine Art of Surfacing," Stacy Keibler will guest star as Rory Dunlop, Eddie Latekka's (Geoff Stults) man*pulative ex-girlfriend who broke his heart years ago and now makes a surprise visit to Knightsridge to reconnect with him. The news of her visit sends Janet, Eddie's new girlfriend, into an emotional tailspin. The episode airs MONDAY, MARCH 10 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

McMahon's & Cuban to start MMA Promotion?
Report: McMahon's & Cuban Together For MMA Project?
02/22/2008 by Ryan Clark

The McMahon's have been rumored to be interested in starting a mixed martial arts promotion. Shane McMahon in particular is said to be a big fan of the sport and the McMahon name has come up a number of times when various promotions have been up for sale (including PRIDE) or starting up.

Billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban has spoken before about working with the McMahon's in the MMA world. Cuban owns "HDNet", a high-definition TV channel that features a lot of MMA shows. HE is trying to put together the heavyweight fight that everyone wants to see later this year - Randy Couture vs. Fedor Emelianenko.

In a recent interview with The Edmonton Sun, Cuban was asked:

Are you trying to form an MMA company to rival the UFC? Are you thinking of involving the McMahon family from the WWE?

His answer was: "Absolutely. We are looking to partner where we can, do our own promotions where it makes sense. We think the future is built around the fighters and their personalities. No one else has this focus and partnership approach. We think it's a winner."

I'm guessing to have the Big Show run in and dismantle Rey, therefore setting up a Big Show/Rey fued, when he returns from his injury. Except for the Benjamin/Yang match and Edge's mic work, it really was a snooze fest last night.

Yeah - but then they just should have had Big Show/Rey and not had Chavo involved at all.

Uncharacteriscally weak show by SD this week.

The worst storylines--
COLUMN: OS #19 - The Worst Storylines Ever (As Chosen By You)
02/23/2008 by Kevin McElvaney

Hey Shenanifans!

I’d like to thank all of you for submitting your votes for the worst storyline of all time. The response was so big, in fact, that I’m unfortunately unable to include actual email excerpts this time. Instead, I’ve used a weighted voting system to count all of your contributions. In this column, I’ll be revealing your top 10 worst storylines ever, plus a few honorable mentions. I’ll be sharing my comments on all of these angles as I count them down. Then, in next week’s column, I’ll reveal five additional picks of my own that, surprisingly, WrestleZone readers missed out on or under-represented.

Without further ado...
"The Worst Storylines Ever"

10. JR Gets Fired

Jim Ross has been both a beloved and integral part of the WWE family for years. So, logically, when JR went in for a precarious colon surgery, the comic potential was limitless, right? None of you seemed to think so, either. But someone on Raw’s creative team did. The storyline began with JR being relieved of his announcing duties. Linda McMahon, whose acting makes Paris Hilton’s look like Meryl Streep’s, punted Good Ol’ JR in the beanbags, and he was on his way home. The worst was yet to come.

Vince McMahon’s performance as Dr. Hiney, pulling things out of “JR’s backside,” may have been one of the most disgusting and tasteless performances in the history of wrestling. Precious few people found it funny, and no one did when they thought about the reality of the situation: that JR was undergoing a very serious procedure and that, at the time, no one was sure whether or not he had colon cancer. Know who found it less funny than perhaps anyone else? Jim Ross, himself.

9. Hawk as an Alcoholic

WWE made pretty good use of the Road Warriors (as the Legion of Doom) in the early 1990s. Sure, it wasn’t as good as the team’s 1980s heyday in the NWA and AWA, but it was much better than LOD 2000. Don’t blame Droz’s participation, though, for screwing this up. Instead, it was what the WWF creative team decided to do with Hawk that really made it bad.

“Highlights” of this angle included Hawk appearing wrecked on camera, belittling a problem that would eventually take his life. WCW similarly exploited Scott Hall’s drinking problem and, years later, he’s had a very hard time kicking the habit. WWF’s storyline had the additional distinction of Hawk taking an apparently suicidal spill off the top of the TitanTron. He was okay, but his career wasn’t.

8. Vince and Hornswoggle McMahon

Guys, I’ve gotta be honest. Yes, this is bad. Pretty damn bad, in fact. But it is NOT one of the ten worst in wrestling history. Granted, all of you who voted for this put it as part of a list, featuring bad angles far more worthy of this number 8 spot. Still, enough voted for Vince and Horny to put this one on the list. I don’t think we need to remind anyone of what this one’s about, since it’s still going on. I’ll just say that, bad as this one is, there have been way worse.

7. Big Show / Big Boss Man Feud

This feud, which culminated with the Boss Man’s unsuccessful bid for the WWF title at Armageddon 1999, began with his return to WWF TV. Following the storyline death of Big Show’s “father” - who was neither Andre the Giant nor his actual, real-life dad, but a third mystery dad - a funeral was held. The Boss Man exploited the situation by attaching Show Sr’s casket to the Blues Brothers’ car and taking off. Big Show tried in vain to stop him.

This is one of those storylines which, when you mention it out loud, you can’t help but laugh at. When angles like this air, though, they’re often much more brutal to watch than you might remember later. Two closing thoughts here. First, don’t blame Russo and Ferrera for this one, as they had left for WCW a month earlier. Second, why did nobody include the Undertaker’s “hanging” of the Boss Man on their list?

6. The WCW / ECW Invasion

The less said about this one, the better. It could’ve been one of the greatest moments ever in wrestling. Instead, it was an okay angle that helped a couple of guys find a niche in the WWF. Next!

5. Billy and Chuck

Billy and Chuck’s run is much maligned by fans, it seems. They didn’t receive the most points in this running (first place votes, etc.), but, early on, they were in the lead for most votes. What I ask, dear readers, is why? Billy and Chuck was entertaining as hell. In fact, no offense to either wrestler, but this had to have been the best performance by both Chucky and Billy in terms of comedy. The matching headbands, the “pose down” against Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson. God, I even loved the wedding segment!

One reader commented that he didn’t like this storyline because Billy and Chuck bested teams like the Dudleys, the Hardys, and the APA. Well, that’s plenty of reason to hate the angle more, if you’re not a fan of the team. But, you have to admit, they were pushed very solidly and consistently for most of their time as a team. So, while I have to definitely disagree with this storyline being one of the worst ever, I concede on one point: the ending was predictable. WWE was never going to have two straight wrestlers portray a gay gimmick for the rest of their careers. It’s just how the company works.

An interesting note: up until the wedding segment, GLAAD (an American gay rights organization) praised WWE for their treatment of the two gay characters. WWE, human rights leaders? This will surely never happen again.

4. Al Wilson

Another one that, I’ll admit, I loved. Al Wilson’s acting was awful, but in a hilarious, Killer Klowns From Outer Space way. And come on, how could you not laugh at the “widow” Dawn Marie facing off against Torrie in the first ever stepmother vs. stepdaughter match, while wearing a black veil in mourning?

Still, I can’t debate this angle’s place on the list. For the first time ever, WWE killed off a character. And, to make matters more ridiculous, this happened after a night of raucous honeymoon sex with his new wife, Dawn Marie. All pretty over the top, and you were either going to love it or hate it. Most of you went with the latter.

3. “Sexual Chocolate” and Mae Young

Mark Henry’s run as “Sexual Chocolate” included an accidental encounter with a transvestite, an admission that he’d had another with his sister, and, of course, the relationship with Mae Young. Mae was impregnated, despite her advanced age, and gave birth to a hand. Afterwards, nothing more became of the storyline - which was probably for the best. Still, this one definitely deserves to be in the top 3.

I’ve got to be honest. I’ve not been a huge Mark Henry fan. His work in strongman contests is admirable, and he’s supposed to be one of the nicest guys in the wrestling business. So I respect him. Still, I was getting really tired of him being in the main event within the past two years. Then, it hit me:

With all the crap Mark Henry has had to endure, purely for the “sake of the WWE product,” he deserves a Bruno Sammartino-esque run with the strap.

2. Big Boss Man / Al Snow Feud

Wow. Two Big Boss Man angles in the top ten! His second run with the WWF didn’t produce any classic angles, like his feuds with the Mountie and Nailz. Instead, we got the Big Show feud and this. Boss Man cooked Al Snow’s loveable Chihuahua, Pepper, and fed him to Snow. The two wound up facing off in a Hell in a Cell match - which would’ve been a good thing, had the ring not been surrounded by a bunch of well-fed dogs. The match was dubbed the “Kennel from Hell” match and, instead of barking and menacing German shepherds, Boss Man and Snow were in the midst of a bunch of butt sniffing, oft-pooping pooches.

I’m a fan of both of these guys. Al Snow often goes underrated as a great wrestler, as well as an excellent coach. His segments with Mick Foley were great, and he could’ve been used much better in WWE during his last few years with the company. Still, the “Kennel from Hell” feud is a stain on the careers of both Snow and Boss Man. And, in addition, it trailed the number one angle by only a single point in the voting.

And, here it is...the worst storyline in the history of wrestling.

1. Any Use of Eddie Guerrero Following His Death

Agreed. And, though this is a complicated scenario which has actually spanned over several angles, they’ve mostly surrounded the use of Rey Mysterio since 2006. As you can see from the rest of the top 10, fans get uncomfortable when real life pain is exploited in such a way just to get wrestlers over. Honestly, it probably did a lot in making Mysterio received those dreaded mixed reactions after his World Heavyweight Title win.

The exploitation continues now, in the form of the Edge-Vickie Guerrero storyline, which received many votes, specifically. I’ve combined the E-V and other Eddie votes, though, as it’s essentially the same thing done at a different time. It keeps going, and fans are clamoring for it to end. This is not an internet wrestling opinion: this is a wrestling fan opinion. This is a human opinion. WWE, please stop.

Those were the top 10 wrestling storylines in wrestling history, according to you. Thanks to everyone who submitted their votes! I read them all, and there were some excellent choices that didn’t quite make the cut. Here are some honorable mentions which just missed the top 10.

"I'm Your Papi, Dominic!"
David Arquette as WCW champion [Why isn’t this in the top 10? - K.M.]
Miss Hancock's pregnancy
Lita's pregnancy and miscarriage
Tim White's "Lunchtime Suicides"
James Mitchell and Abyss father-son angle

I’ll be back next week with the additional five angles I spoke of earlier. Stay tuned!

I agree with the writer of that article. Not only should Arquette winning the WCW be in the top 10, it should be #1. When a storyline pretty much puts one of the final nails into the coffin of your organization, that's a pretty bad storyline. As for using Eddie Guerrero's death, I don't have a problem with it, when it came to Rey or Chavo. Its using Vickie I have a problem with, not because I find it tasteless, its just I shouldn't be blinded by her white cankles on a weekly basis.

i agree with you about the Vickie storylines, but the Rey and Chavo after a while, it got kind of old and i was like can we please just move on and let Eddie RIP. Rey winning the title at WM22 i can see, because they were trying to convert all of Eddies fans over to Rey. Rey vs. Chavo for the first couple of months it was good. but i think that they need to give it a rest already.

Also Shelton Benjamin qualifiedly for the Money in the Bank

Chris Jericho
Batista
Umaga
CM Punk

I don't mind it. The fact that its not live makes it less "appointment TV" for me. Also, I was never into Undertaker or Batista so them being at the top kind of ruins it for me. I like Edge but hate Vickie Guerrero, so that storyline is a bother. But I like Noble, Yang, and some of the other shit they have going on. They just need to shitcan ECW and merge it with Smackdown, build up CM and go from there.

As i mentioned earlier i found my WM20 DVD, and since that was a milestone for the company, they put together a show which aired on Spike TV about the Best Mania Matches of all times.
Here's the list
10. Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit- WM17

9.Hulk Hogan vs. Ultimate Warrior- Intercontinental & WWE Championship Match- WM6

8. Stone Cold vs. HBK WWE Championship Match-- WM14

7. Hulk & Mr. T vs. Rowdy Roddy & Paul Orndorff- WM1

6. Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold- Submission Match- WM13

5. The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan WM18

4. Ricky Steamboat vs. Randy Savage- Intercontinental Championship match- WM3

3. Razor Ramon vs. HBK-- Intercontinental Championship-- Ladder Match--WM10

2. Hardy's vs. Dudley's vs. Edge and Christian- Tag Team championship- Ladder Match-- WM16

1. Bret Hart vs. HBK-- WWE Championship- Iron Man Match- WM12

So i was wondering what your guys Favorite Mania matches are and What Matches should have been on the List.

I at least thought that HBK vs. Y2J at WM19 should have been on there.
Now i would add,
HBK vs. Kurt Angle WM21
Taker vs. Batista WM23
Maybe HHH vs. Cena WM22- for the reason that the crowd was soo into that one.
Also Maybe Mark Henry vs. Taker WM22- I liked that match a lot.

Yeah, it had to be really tough for him. In History of World Class DVD (the one done a year or so back with Kevin) Kevin tells a bunch of stories about Fritz that are mind-blowing. Fritz told Kevin that if he was a man he would have killed himself like his brothers. I think he threatened his life too or something of that ilk. Kevin then goes on to apologize for his father by claiming that Fritz's father was tough too. I would guess that if it was that tough for Kevin, someone who actually was good in the ring, that it was equally hard for Chris to not step into the legacy.

The stories Kevin tells on that DVD (plus the many humorous moments that Chris Adams provides) are fucking worth it by themselves. However, I'm still going with Kevin describing the day that Chris killed himself on the WWE WCCW DVD as the most disturbing Von Erich story to date.

I like

Oh yeah, me like also. Can't wait till those photos are posted online. (As much as I want to see Maria naked, I can't bring myself to shell over the money to buy a Playboy).

This article caught my eye
he following is from the Associated Press:

LOS ANGELES - Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a champion boxer and has tested his moves on "Dancing With the Stars." Now the man many consider the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world is preparing to drop the gloves and do some wrasslin.'

A $20 million payday awaits the undefeated WBC welterweight champion when he takes on Big Show as part of WWE's "WrestleMania XXIV" at Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla., on March 30.

"It's entertainment. You have a chance to just be you and do what you want to do," Mayweather said Monday after a chaotic Staples Center event that masqueraded as a news conference.

The boxer nicknamed "Money" clearly likes the way WWE does business.

"Wrestling takes care of business right on the spot," Mayweather said. "Whatever they say they're going to do, they do it right on the spot. There's no waiting three, four, five months. Quick results, quick money. Quick big money, too."

His manager Leonard Ellerbee and WWE executive Shane McMahon confirmed Mayweather's eight-figure payday for the outdoor match to be shown on live on pay-per-view.

Mayweather incited the couple hundred of already hyped fans at Staples Center by whipping out a thick wad of cash and repeatedly tossing $100, $50 and $20 bills into the crowd that had nearly as many women as men.

A mad scramble ensued, with a light pole nearly getting knocked over and two small children caught in the chaos. One lucky man emerged from the pileup clutching six $100 bills.

Mayweather played to the frenzied crowd after appearing from behind a black curtain wearing a New York Yankees jacket and cap. Fans shouted insults and the name of hometown hero Oscar De La Hoya at Mayweather.

"I run Vegas and I run L.A. and I will run the WWE," he boasted.

At 5-foot-8, 150 pounds, Mayweather gives up big numbers to the bald Big Show, who stands 7-feet and weighs 430.

"I weigh three times as much as he does," Big Show crowed. "It's not fair, but I'm a businessman and I see an opportunity for business."

Then he picked up the wooden podium and tossed it to the floor, where it splintered and the attached two mics lay like broken sticks. Clearly, Staples Center officials hadn't expected the move.

Mayweather hopped onto a chair and exchanged glares with Big Show while WWE regulars Randy Orton, John Cena, Triple H and Edge looked on, witnessing a newcomer who clearly understands the theatrics of modern-day wrestling.

"WWE is the biggest it gets," Mayweather said. "This is going to be an event like none other."

Ellerbee scoffed that hard-core boxing fans won't take Mayweather seriously after his WWE antics.

"After March 30, when Floyd goes out and takes care of his business at WrestleMania, he's still going to be the best fighter in the world and the face of boxing," he said. "Tell me what changes about that? Nothing changes."

The wrestling gig is another part of Ellerbee's carefully crafted plan to expand Mayweather's fan base.

"Either I'm going to be a genius with this or I'm the biggest idiot," he said. "Boxers have such a short window of opportunity. He can't become any bigger in boxing."

That's why Ellerbee snagged Mayweather a spot on ABC's reality hit "Dancing With the Stars." Mayweather didn't win the disco ball trophy, but he wasn't the first one voted off, either.

"It crossed him over and took him into the households of many middle-aged Middle Americans and turned him into a mainstream superstar," Ellerbee said. "Now when Floyd goes into the grocery store, the first thing 65-year-old ladies say is, 'You're Floyd from 'Dancing With the Stars.'"

Mayweather plans to train with WWE Latino star Ray Mysterio, who wears a mask on his face.

"I'm outside the box," he said, lapsing into the third person. "Floyd Mayweather is not just a fighter, he's an entertainer. That's what the world must know."

But he hasn't forgotten his night job.

Mayweather alluded to a possible rematch with De La Hoya in September. De La Hoya lost a split decision in their last bout May 5.

I think I'm the only wrestling fan left in the Interweb universe that still doesn't understand why Jeff Hardy's popular.

This is still the faggy dancing, hair painted, can't cut a promo freak that fans insisted was a queer that only teenage girls liked just a few years ago. What changed since then exactly? Standards?

RMM46

Nice match between the two. I'm a little surprised Jericho got the clean win. I thought he'd either cheat or lose and watch him in a series of matches leading up to WM24 for him to get in the MITB match.
