I don't agree with the level of the judges decision. 30-27 all across the cards? It was a lot closer than that.

The fans are booing.

burky79
02-02-2008, 10:36 PM
Was he throwing those heavy shots all 3 rounds?
It sounded like he was hitting dead meat (no pun intended) in the 3rd.
30-27 makes it seems so.

Whatever. The TVU chat is running 50-50 over the level of that decision. Some agree with me that it looked closer.

Anyway, now there is this next fight. Yundt vs Almedia. Yundt is a last minute replacement for Alan Belcher.

Penn had to finally re-commit himself to superior physical training. And he's going to need all of that and more against Sherk.

Horn is getting a beat down from Marquart.

But - Jeremey is now trying to win it with high-level jits.

That answers two very important questions;

Brock isn't the next big thing in the UFC

and

I guess the Ankle Lock isn't the same as as a kneebar

So, Brock got his ass kicked? I knew that was gonna happen. I knew he was gonna embarass himself. Too bad Vince aint ever gonna offer him a contract again.

Actually it wasn't a bad performance by Lesnar. He was dominant in the beginning, but Mir was simply smarter.

i agree. mir turned his head into brocks punches, and it wasnt intentional and it was only one clear shot to the back of the head. mir tapped him fair and square, but got his ass kicked in the process(if that makes sense).and i am a big mir fan, but i just think that stoppage saved him, and im just not sure it was a legit stoppage.
i think there is going to be a great future in the ufc for brock if he works on a defense against the leg submissions, because now that is where everyone he fights is going to go to against him. i thought he looked good in this fight though.

Mazagotti's is a dumbass for that stopage. was shit.

If you watched the fight before (or maybe it was two fights before), also with porno stauch Steve, you'll notice he gave repeated warning to watch the back of the head. Now, the refs have pre-fight instructions/conversations with both fighters. Usually it's a quick reminder of the rules, or if there is something different going on, like, "come up for the staredown", or "the cage or in the blue corner is slippery".

They also give last minute warning and instructions. If fighters have been grabbing the cage or the top of the cage all night, some refs will go and warn fighters right off the bat, grab the cage, and I'm taking a point. Steve could have said to both guys, "watch the back of the head, I'm not going to give any warning".

Frank was turning from the punches, and it was unintentional, I think there should have just been a warning. However, he could have been turning to go for a leg. It's one of those things we'll never know.

This will probably be good for the UFC and Brock in the long run. It shows how silly a "WWE vs UFC who would win" conversation is, and if Brock can go on a winning streak, it shows that it's legit, and that Brock is truely trying to learn the sport and improve. I think you'll have alot of people checking out his next fight to see if he can win.

Also, we still don't know what kind of jaw he has. I'd love to see Lesnar vs Cro-cop.

I'm sure there was a pre-fight warning, especially for an un-experienced MMA fighter.

BUT

He needed a warning for consistency. No one else has ever got a point taken away that quickly, that I've ever seen.

I think Brock has a future... but a Cro-cop/Lesnar fight... Lesnar has a long way to go before that. On the other hand, if he practices his high kicks... who knows :)

Exactly. I think we all agree on this point. Im guessing Mazagotti was a bit intimidated by Brock and figured a warning just wouldn't get his attention. Its like a rabid dog. You can't just walk up to it and take its food away without getting mauled yourself. :D
