And 8 years ago today my shitty college's hockey team made the conference playoffs.

They went on to get hosed in the first round in the most demoralizing road trip of my life.

I get goosebumps whenever I watch the footage, as the clock winds down and Al Micheals delievers the line. The Miracle on Ice, in my humble opinion, is the greatest upset in sports history.

It would be pretty cool to have that actual poster that they all signed. HBO was running, about 2 weeks ago when I watched it, a documentary on the team/game.

I'm sure it seemed like a big deal at the time, but come on, it's hockey for chrissakes. Is that even an Olympic sport anymore?

Yeah, what he said. I did not watch any news so I did not know the outcome, but when they went to the pre-game shit (Jim McKay probably?) They had a live shot of the streets of Lake Placid and people where going crazy so you knew we won. I mean the fucking game was played in NY, not China or some shit. How do you not schedule a semi final game in prime time?
