If you think about it all the WWE is doing is burying the roster. Nothing good can come of this, it just shows that all the people in this match are considered jobbers and after thoughts. It really doesnt do any good for the brand or the talent.

I was flipping back and forth between that "match" and MSNBC. Oblerman ripping Bill O'Riley a new one, was more entertaining than Cena and Orton vs Heat. Its like you have been saying, they just de-valued half their roster. It was also the second time they did it last night. London and Kendrick were tag team champs for what, a year on Smackdown. Now they have become Umaga's personal whipping boys. I mean it really was sad seeing all that talent on one side of the ring, that you can use to make ECW and Smackdown better shows but instead you use to put two guys over. Two guys who, quite frankly don't need it, at this point of their careers. It really was a shitty end, to what basically was a shitty show last night.

Name the wonderful contributions he's made in the past few years. Boring and predictable everything? A full year of burying a bunch of ridiculously talented young guys who got relegated to being cheerleaders? And being horrifically unfunny while doing so? Having a feud with Shawn Michaels that lasted about a year and a half too long?

I'm not going to lie, I'm a Triple H fan. I think he is one of the most entertaining guys in the WWE today. Whether he is being a heel or a face. Whether its in the ring or on the mic. Has he done some grimey shit in his career? I don't know that for sure, because its only stuff that I have read online. However if its true, is he the first one in the history of proffessional wrestling to do so. No. Hell I have heard bad things said about Flair, the Undertaker, and Shawn Micheals, just to name a couple of guys. However, you can't deny what these guys have done for the industry and for their fans.

I completely agree. But even though i like HHH i wish that he wouldn't as much power as he does backstage and that he wouldn't bury some of the talent like he has in the past. thats the only real thing that i dont like about him, that he buries the talent. But other then that he has done really great things for the company, and the industry as well. He doesnt get the credit that he deserves because he is married to the bosses daughter. But thats the bussiness that they work in. Political power and locker room power is some what of the defining line.

Latest Candice Michelle Injury Update, Y2J Stiffed On RAW
03/18/2008 by Ryan Clark
The latest on Candice Michelle is that she will see a doctor later in the week to determine how bad she re-aggravated her broken clavicle injury that she originally suffered back in October. All indications are that Candice will work through the pain if she is medically cleared to wrestle as she does not want to miss out on the WrestleMania bonus pay.
Chris Jericho received a stiff right hand from Big Show during their match on Raw last night. For those that missed Raw, they replayed the blow several times on television to play up the shot. Ever since WWE began broadcasting in High Definition, everyone has had to work a lot more "snug" to keep their work looking realistic. Jericho took a real stiff shot to the face last week as well in his match against Jeff Hardy.

WWE.com Confirms Candice Michelle Injury On RAW
03/17/2008 by Ryan Clark
The following is from WWE.com:
LAFAYETTE, La. " WWE Diva Candice Michelle injured her left shoulder tonight during her tag team match with Maria against Jillian and Victoria on Raw Monday, WWE.com has learned. Candice has been sent to a Lafayette medical center for X-rays.
“Candice has pain in her left clavicle area,” said WWE Athletic Trainer Chris Brannon.
Her shoulder is iced down and is immobilized. She was sent in for X-rays to rule out a fracture.”
Last October, Michelle broke her left clavicle during her match against WWE Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix, forcing her to miss five months of action. This was Candice’s first live-action since that injury.
Candice and March 2008 Playboy cover girl Maria are scheduled to face The Glamazon and Melina at WrestleMania XXIV in Orlando, Fla., in a BunnyMania Lumberjack Match on March 30. Check back with WWE.com for further updates as they become available.
HBK and HHH backstage influence--
Huge Update On HBK & HHH’s Backstage Influence
03/18/2008 by Tim Brown
Credit: ProWrestling.net
Triple H and Shawn Michaels continue to wield more power than any other wrestlers on the WWE roster. Undertaker has a lot of stroke, but doesn’t get involved in the creative process as much as HHH and Michaels. While everyone backstage pretty much agrees that HHH is overprotective of his spot, they also credit him with getting Vince McMahon to steer away from allowing the writers to use campy toilet humor. Michaels comes across more neutral during creative meetings and doesn’t let his insecurities of losing his spot show.
Although HHH has more than his fair share of enemies in the locker room, there is at least a small feeling that he is a great asset to the company and he’ll never get the credit that he deserves because he’s married to the boss’s daughter.
All sources seem to share the assumption that most of the heavy hitting HHH does is behind closed doors with Vince. However, there was an instance of HHH burying someone publicly when he openly mocked Chris Jericho’s return gimmick.
For all the complains about HHH and Michaels, they are also viewed as the only guys willing and powerful enough to voice their concerns with the product. Vince loves to challenge people and HHH is not excluded from that just because he’s family. HHH is said to have a legendary poker face, and no-sells Vince when he tries to push his buttons at creative meetings to see how HHH will react.
There is a group of upper-mid-card wrestlers who are just waiting for HHH, HBK and Undertaker to step aside so they can take control of the locker room, however there are no signs that this will happen anytime soon.

While Triple H hasn't been the performer he was since the injury in 2001 I think the latest version of him is eons better than the heel version before. I wouldn't call it "compelling" but its at least different than anything he's done since he turned heel back in '99. Sure he was face back in 2002 for a stretch but that seemed like different shtick especially with how referential he was to Hogan.
Some of the backstage antics don't help his cause but he seems to have gotten better as late (with the exception of his help in completely squashing the entire tag division). You brought up the Spirit Squad but regardless of how they were shown in regards to him do you think any of them could have gotten over? Look at how bad Kenny is doing. They just don't have that "it" factor at the current time. Sure, they could develop it with seasoning but most likely they could have developed only to serviceable mid-card guys.
The problem they are having isn't Triple H but the inability for guys like Kennedy, Carlito, etc to step up and their own inability to help some guys along. They need to "make" talent again which is something they've struggled mightily with since the magic years of Austin and The Rock. And guys like Triple H and HBK are guys that are going to have take part in that. The best way for Triple H to do that is to regain the title and hopefully make some worthwhile contenders that way. It is in his own best interest since he will one day hold a bigger part of the company than any other wrestler.
I'm not a huge Triple H fan but at the moment I still think he's better than the Undertaker. The guy has been pretty much the same douche who bored me back in 1992. Fuck him.

Kennedy would have been on the verge of being that guy if he didn't get injured last year and then get caught up in the suspensions. He still has some things to work on but he was getting huge reaction right after MITB last year.

My dislike for Triple H has nothing to do with his backstage power or whatnot. I don't hate anybody for that. The only person I dislike because of his real life personality is Teddy Hart, but that's because he has gone out of his way on multiple occasions to put other wrestlers in danger just because he wanted to put himself over.

It's the same character he's been doing since the DX return. He's sometimes intense and sometimes a goofball who winks at the camera. And it sucks. The newz item that OApartyrock posted about him getting the writers to stop using shit humor is ridiculous. Did he stop them from using it so he can use all of that himself?
As far as the Spirit Squad, Kenny is very good. He was fantastic down in OVW, and he's way better than he should be for a guy whose only wrestling experience is being trained by WWE and is only 22 years old. He's not on TV right now because he's hurt. His gimmick as being Victoria's boy toy was actually quite good on SmackDown. Johnny Jeter is also about 20 times more awesomer than he is. That guy deserved to be on the main roster well before he actually came up with the Spirit Squad, but he got fucked over for whatever reason. Nick Mitchell and Nick Nemeth are meh at best, but fuck 'em. Mike Mondo is a very charismatic guy and can back it up in the ring. He's a guy who has been in the business for a while and has never gotten a real shot. He played a fantastic "giant killer" gimmick down in OVW.

You're right it is, however, he was also injured for a great deal of it and I would like to see how well he can do as a face champ. Granted, I will probably get sick of it if they don't do a proper storyline to build up contenders other than Cena and Orton.
I'm not doubting or even disagreeing with your opinions of the Spirit Squad. I just don't think that they would have gone over without the gimmick. It gave them a shot at the big time portion of the event that they wouldn't have had any other way. I mean, hell, look at Noble.

Big Jeff Hardy Update, What Will Mayweather's Match Be?
03/19/2008 by Keelan Balderson
- Although WWE wanted to send Jeff Hardy to rehab it is now believed he will just be taking the 60 days at home (no pun intended). He is adamant he doesn't have a problem and was just caught on the off chance. As we noted a few days ago, nobody is set to take his place in the Money In The Bank match, although a Matt Hardy run in on MVP is likely.
- One idea being discussed for the Floyd Mayweather and Big Show match at Wrestlemania is a Lumberjack match with Floyd's posse on one side and WWE stars on the other.

It's obvious that Giant Khali should be the champ. Not since Giant Gonzalez ( El Gigante) in WCW have I seen so much raw wrestling talent. His charisma, ability to sell, grace and the realism he brings to the events is bar none.

I have unbelievably little interest and anticipation for the show this year. There are only 4 episodes of TV left before 'Mania, and it doesn't feel AT ALL like WrestleMania season. The build has been complete shit.

Steve Austin At 'Mania 24?, Khali, Kane, Henry, Noble, More
03/19/2008 by Ryan Clark
WWE's creative team was told to come up with ideas to incorporate Stone Cold Steve Austin into WrestleMania XXIV. Two ideas that were discussed were a match with Hulk Hogan znd Austin being the spcial guest referee for the Big Show vs. Floyd Mayweather match. It is unknown whether either idea was actually pitched to Austin, but he wont be doing either. He is expected to attend the Hall of Fame Ceremony, so there is still a chance he could appear at WrestleMania.
Mayweather/WWE Update, Chyna Proves She's A Female, Sabu
03/19/2008 by Ryan Clark
Floyd 'Money' Mayweather appeared live by telephone on Sky Sports News in the UK this morning. When asked whether could beat a guy double his height and weight, Mayweather responded by saying he's working on a plan to knock Big Show out. He added, "If you set your mind to anything you'd like to do in life - just believe." Mayweather spoke about breaking Big Show's nose and said there are plans for a Mayweather movie at some point.
Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton interviewed Chyna for his VH1 "What Perez Sez" last night. Without getting too graphic, Chyna went to great lengths to prove to Perez that she's female. :haha7::haha7::haha7::haha7:

News On Rhodes, How Many Buys WWE Wants For 'Mania
03/19/2008 by Ryan Clark
WWE wants to surpass 1.2 million buys for WrestleMania this year. The company is being very aggressive in promoting the event as they have increased their direct mailing to consumers and have bought lots a radio spots in the top 30 markets. They have even approached businesses to pay them to have a WrestleMania photo with Mayweather vs. Big Show in their steel shutters for the month of March.
The Post and Courier has an article detailing the life and career of legendary wrestling manager Gary Hart at Charleston.net.
The New York Times has a blurb on Vince McMahon receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this past Friday, which you can read at NYTimes.com. "I already know I'm a star," McMahon said. "I'm the biggest star of all time."

Playboy.com has an interview up with Maria where she talks about her sex life. Some highlights are below.
On her favorite sexual positions: I like being on bottom. I have so much control in the outside world, I don't necessarily want it when I'm in the bed. Depends on my mood. Sometimes I can be aggressive; other times I'm pretty passive.
On whether she prefers giving or receiving oral sex: Oh, definitely giving. Boys are gonna love that one!
On the craziest places she has had sex: Oh, gosh, there've been a bunch. Of course I've done the whole pool table thing. Done the really, really disgusting dirty bathroom on a road trip. I hope my mom doesn't read this -- I've done the parents' bed. Never done it in the bathroom [on a plane] but I might have done a few acts in the seat sitting next to someone. I've done it in the car. I've done the balcony at a hotel...that one was recent.

Latest on Hardys suspension---
he Absolute Latest On Jeff Hardy's Suspension From WWE
03/19/2008 by Ryan Clark
Source:: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter
# The word of Jeff Hardy's 60-Day Suspension made word around the locker room on Monday (3.10.08) before Raw. Hardy was advertised for the weekend house shows, but had been pulled from them with no reason given.
# WWE policy now is to announce failures of the wellness policy and or suspensions publicly, but not to give the details of the failure. The belief is that the failure was not for steroids, but the fear is that mainstream media will attack the suspension with the "steroid claim" since it is wrestling.
# Hardy was pulled from the WrestleMania card and the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Hardy was looked at as a favorite, and there was a plan for him to win at one point. The one thing that was for sure is that he was going to have along program with Chris Jericho, which began a few weeks back. With the Hardy suspension, Jericho is now without a program.
# Hardy's suspension will end in mid-May, but company policy is that if you are suspended during the build to a PPV, you miss that PPV. This means that Hardy will not likely be back on TV until June 1st. That also means that he will miss out of PPV bonuses from WrestleMania, Backlash and Judgment Day on top of two months of house show and downside guarantee money. When Hardy was suspended the first time in 2007, he missed Summerslam. Due to his position on the card company estimates figure that Hardy lost out on $100,000 for that suspension.
# As far as his future with the company, it is hard to see how WWE will judge him. The company feels that recreational drug use and steroid abuse are two different ball games. For example, Chavo Guerrero had two suspensions for steroid positives, but came back and is now in the middle of a big push as the ECW Champion and associated with Edge. When Rob Van Dam got busted in 2006, as the ECW and WWE Champion, the feeling was that they wouldn't be giving the world title to someone that is questionable. The feeling is that no matter his popularity, it will be a long time before Hardy could earn back the trust to get a world title run.

Lance Storm's WM24 Predictions---
WrestleMania Predictions
March 10, 2008
With WrestleMania XXIV only a few weeks away I thought I would offer my WrestleMania predictions this week. I’ve been flipping back and forth on when to do this, as I wanted to have as many Mania matches set as possible, but if I wait till too close to the event, things become more obvious not to mention booking plans leaking out. There are eight matches set at this point, so I doubt anything of too much significance will be added at this point, so now is as good a time as any.
Randy Orton – John Cena – Triple H (WWE Heavyweight Title)
- I’m going with HHH for this one. He put Cena over two years ago, and missed out completely last year, I expect him to take the Title this year. This isn’t the finish I would book if I was in charge but if I were booking this wouldn’t be the title match on the show either. I’m going with HHH to win (possibly with a heel turn), and a long spring and summer chase to regain the title for Cena.
Edge – The Undertaker (World Heavyweight Title)
- As much as I don’t like the idea of switching both titles on the same show, I don’t see them ending Taker’s streak at Mania. I think at one point it should have been done to give a young guy a HUGE claim to fame but at this point it’s become Taker’s Legacy and I’m beginning to think it will never happen. My pick is Taker to win.
Big Show – Floyd Mayweather
- This is such an oddball match. I think the safe prediction is for this to be a terrible match. I don’t see how they can do anything considering the style clash let alone the size differential. Boxer vs. Wrestler matches are traditionally a disaster, and in this case the boxer isn’t even big enough to punch the other guy in the head. I expect Floyd to get some kind of win, since I doubt he agreed to come to WWE to simply do a job. I hate this match even taking place, as I just don’t see how it is even remotely believable that Big Show doesn’t just squash him like a bug, but I expect some kind of BS finish to allow Floyd’s hand to get raises.
Ric Flair – Shawn Michaels
- I know everyone is expecting this to be Flair’s last match and thus he will lose to be forced to retire, but I want to go out on a limb and go a different way. I’m going to pick Flair to win this one. Flair losing on this show will be a huge downer, and the Floyd match will be downer enough for the whole show. Everyone is expecting Flair to lose so a surprise win would blow the roof of the place (if it had one). It’s not like Shawn needs the push of retiring Flair, he’s Shawn Michaels for crying out loud. I would put Flair over and let him cut a promo on Monday thanking Shawn for the match of his life, and saying he doesn’t see how he could ever top the emotion from last night and wants to go out on his terms. He got in the HOF Saturday, won the biggest match of his life on Sunday, and is calling it a career on his terms (not Vince McMahons) on Monday. Standing Ovation three nights in a row and well deserved.
Money in the Bank
- I don’t think all the spots are even filled yet, but that doesn’t really matter. In my opinion this will be Jeff Hardy’s match. They have really stepped Jeff up and he has answered the call and the crowd loves it. Jeff is great in matches like this and he should absolutely get the win and the title shot, to get him back in the title picture at some point. I’ll even throw out another possibility. Jeff could jump to SD where he would have less competition for that #1 top spot. After Taker runs a somewhat lengthy run with Edge, I’d like to see Jeff jump across and challenge Taker, and BEAT him for the title. You could then step Edge back into the picture to work with Jeff.
Batista – Umaga (RAW vs. SD)
- I’m going with big Dave in this one. Being in a match that feels this unimportant seems to be such a huge step down from his incredible match with Taker last year that I can’t see them beating him too. Heel can get their steam back so much easier than baby faces, so I’m going Batista over clean.
Finlay – JBL
- I assume there will be a bunch of stipulations and or McMahon involvement in this match but either way the safe prediction is for this to be the stiffest match of the night BY A MILE. I’m picking JBL to win. There are a lot of Baby Face wins on this show and you have to balance that out. I expect some kind of strong finish with a ton of heat. This match won’t be pretty but it will look VERY real.
Candice & Maria – Beth & Melina
- This match should be an easy call, as I doubt they will be doing any kind of angle with the girls with so much else going on, on the show. There is no angle going in, and if they don’t cut an angle to get out, you might as well put the new Playboy girl over clean and let everyone be happy and that is what I expect.
If they add anymore matches I’ll add to my predictions before Mania and then do the post Mania recap to see how accurate I was. I got 5 out of 8 last year and 7 out of 11 the year before so I’ve got a pretty consistent batting average.

If neither Jericho nor Kennedy win MITB, I pray to Zombie Jesus that they have a nice long worthwhile feud over the IC title...with several defenses along with a change or 2. Do it right, it can go all the way to SummerSlam where they have the real blowoff in a ________ match

Lance Storms thoughts on this weeks Monday Night Raw-----
WWE: RAW March 17, 2008
- This was a weird and whacky RAW. Parts of it were fun, parts were really flat, and I was left with a ton of guys I didn't know if I was supposed to like or dislike.
- I liked the opening Highlight Reel on RAW but at the end I had no idea who I was supposed to like or dislike. No one was a clear Heel or Baby Face. While this may make for an interesting promo it makes for Crappy matches.
- NO one cared about the Carlito Punk match, me included. I watched the crowd the whole match and they spent more time talking to each other and looking at themselves on the Titan Tron, than watching this match. With guys from all brands on this show, why do we care about the SD vs. RAW match at Mania? Oh yah, we don't.
- I hated the Umaga squash, just because I love watching London and Kendrick wrestle, and thought this was a HUGE waste of talent.
- The Regal HHH promo was a good attention to detail segment for the main event, and covered why Orton and Cena would fight together.
- Did anyone else notice that Vince held the Kendo stick upside down and whacked poor Flair in the head with the heavy handle end twice (OUCH). I love Flair, but I am ready for him to retire. Vince is older than him and looks younger and heathier. Flair getting color, taking unprotected head shots, and basically losing to Vince clean (if HBK hadn't pulled the ref) is not the Flair I want to remember.
- Please find a way to insert Santino and Lawler into the BunnyMania match. Santino is such an awesome comedy heel, and Lawler the perfect Baby Face counter. They are perfect old school wrestling; You have a Jackass Heel everyone wants to see get punched in the mouth and Lawler is a Baby Face that knows how to work a crowd and deliver the punch when the time is right. These two are Classic Wrestling GOLD.
- Boy did Jericho take one for the team. Flat match though with an unclear face and heel. This match just illustrated how difficult it is to have a good match when the guys are so mismatched by size, and it is going to be way worse with Floyd and Show at Mania.
- The Main Event came off way better than I expected it too, and it was fun to watch. That being said it left me with mixed feelings about everyone and ultimately caring less about Mania. Orton and Cena were such underdogs and exciting in hitting their finishes on guys that Orton came off as a huge baby face (who'd a thunk it) and then HHH came off like a real dick and the end, getting more of a heel response.
- I was not bothered by Cena and Orton beating so many guys because they didn't pin anyone that is involved at Mania so they aren't going to matter for over a month and this will be forgotten by then.
- Where the hell was HBK for this match? He's on the RAW roster, was in the one graffic for the match, and was in the building with nothing else to do. They took the time to explain everything else but not this.

---Floyd Mayweather Storyline Plans, London's Heat, Lawler, & More
03/20/2008 by Ryan Clark
- As I reported yesterday here on the site, Bryan Alvarez is reporting that those close to Floyd Mayweather feel like he has some type of deal with WWE that will extend past WrestleMania XXIV. While I cannot confirm what Alvarez is reporting I have been told that Shane McMahon has been very pleased with the Mayweather/Big Show angle and has pitched ideas to do more storylines involving shoot style fighting. One source told me that Shane loves how realistic the angle has came off especially how it looked at Raw two weeks ago.
WWE shipped 273,000 DVDs in the month of January, which is down 24% from the same period a year ago, reports Dave Meltzer. Sales are expected to pick up with the releases of the new Steve Austin and Triple DVD sets.
- Paul London has alot of backstage heat. London's smile during the Mr. McMahon explosion angle did himself no favors.

Austin Says He Has 1 Match Left In Him - Calls Hogan 'Bitter'
Stone Cold Steve Austin was interviewed this week by The Sun. Here are the highlights:
-- Austin thinks Jake Roberts and Randy Savage should be in the WWE Hall of Fame.
-- Austin says that when he first got to WWE, he and Shawn Michaels were on good terms. They hung out in the same circles and drank beer together. When Austin's popularity exploded in 1998, Michaels starting acting like a "pr*ck" to him. Austin says Shawn had a bad back at the time, but there were deeper issues than that.
-- Austin on having one more match: “I take that never say never approach to having a last match. For a while I just said: ‘No, it will never happen' but who knows? And I’m not saying this to get everybody up. It would have to be the most perfect set up in the whole world and all the stars to align for it to happen. The chances are few and far between but could it? Damn. Maybe."
-- On Hulk Hogan slamming him: “He’s just a bitter, insecure guy. I give him all the credit in the world, because I’ve watched a lot of his career unfold and the Hulkamania thing was one of the biggest things ever. But believe me I’ve been around the entertainment business since the back end of 1989, and if there’s one thing you’re going to find out it’s that if you’ve got thin skin you’re probably in the wrong business. So there’s not a damn thing Hogan can say to rile me up or charge me up. I’m secure in the career that I’ve had and everything I did. It makes me laugh when he’s got to do that, because I really think it makes him look like a chump.”

Larry King Live on CNN was scheduled to have WWE superstars as guests twice, both times the show was pre-empted in favor of current topics including the prostitution scandal involving then New York governor Elliot Spitzer and the five year anniversary of the start of the U.S. war in Iraq. CNN has rescheduled once again, and now the stars of WWE are slated to be interviewed on 3/27, which will go head to head with Impact, which is airing live on Spike TV.

Didnt Teddy get fired from the WWE for something earlier this year. They were about to bring him up on the main roster but then he screwed up something and got his ass fired.

For the TNA Fans- Heres Lance Storms thoughts on Last nights TNA Impact--
http://www.stormwrestling.com/tvthoughts.html
Stings Return-listen to the awful announcing, its cringe inducingly bad.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRp3xyHgyl4
TNA: Impact March 20, 2008
- God this was a hard show to follow. There had to have been 20-30 segments on this show, if you count each promo and back stage segment.
- The only thing I remember after watching all of this is that Team 3D joined Tomko's Team and according to the clairvoyant announce team Sting will be on Impact next week. Thankfully I took notes.
- Okay I have to rant on this. At the end of the show, after mass run ins, the heels lay waste to everyone, Sting's entrance video hits and both Tenay and West scream, "Does this mean what I think this means? Sting will be here next week!". Where the F-ck did they get that? I've been a wrestling fan for a while now and last I checked a guys entrance video playing usually means he's here NOW!!!!! These guys must be the Kreskins of pro-wresting. The only guy more clairvoyany than Teney is Sting. Sting somehow knew that this "booked during the show" match would take place, and the heels would run in a lay waste to everyone to close the show. In knowing this he decided that instead of coming to Impact to help out, he would arranged for the guy in the truck, who cues the entrance videos, to hit his music at the right time, as a sign to everyone that he would be there NEXT week.
- To avoid a long rant I will complain about one last thing before closing with a few positive comments.
- The Jay Lethal skit was atrocious, and whoever wrote it should be fired. It's a NO BUYS segment that kills whatever credibility they managed to create for Lethal. Why have Jay Lethal pin Kurt Angle to win the X-Title, then have him beat 3D and Devine by himself to save the X-Division, and then make him a joke. Are we to beleive that a TNA SuperStar, the X-Division Champion can't afford to buy dinner out? He has to order water to drink and ask Sonjay (who is also appearantly enough of a jobber to need a side job) for a discount on his bill. I'm guesing this was meant as an inside joke because Randy Savage was notoriously cheap, but should Impact not be used to get people over, draw ratings and or drive PPV buys? Nope it's used to provide an amusing chuckle to those writing this show? Nice to see them rebuilding the X-Division.
- Okay I promised a few positive comments. The Knockouts worked hard and had a decent match as they almost always do. I think it was the only clean finish on the show too.
- While I didn't like the Kurt Angle MMA bit, I can see where others might think it was great and it certainly could work to get Angle some of his credibility back. I think it was an interesting idea that was executed well.
- I was glad they tried to explain the Christian - Rhino partnership. I really hate when old enemies just start getting along because one guy turned face since they last worked. Kudos to TNA for trying to offer an explanation.
- Next week's LIVE show should be interesting. If they try to do this many segments live, it could be an amazing ClusterF-ck!
Thoughts on the Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe MMA match?
Sting's return?
I'm going to enjoy the Angle vs. Samoa Joe MMA match for two reasons.
1. I know that Kurt Angle will work his ass off to try and make this match one of the best in TNA history and i think that it will have a chance to be. Im really looking forward to it. I read in an article that this is his way of "one upping" the WWE because they are going with he boxing angle with Floyd so they are doing the MMA thing. Both guys can do MMA because they are extremely talented.
2. Samoa Joe is going to win the title so i'll buy the PPV for that. Because i like Samoa Joe.

Chuck Liddell Hates On Kurt Angle, Sting's Return, More
03/21/2008 by Ryan Gray
Source - Wrestling Observer
- During an interview with Setanta Sports yesterday, Chuck Liddell said the following about Kurt Angle wanting to compete in a Mixed Martial Arts bout, "He talks about it all the time, but he hasn't made any movement toward doing it, to my knowledge he hasn't done any training or cross-training. If he's just gonna came in and wrestle, he's going to get beat. You can't just be a one-dimensional fighter in the UFC. I don't care how good you are, it's not gonna work."

Ric Flair's Hall Of Fame Inductor Revealed
03/22/2008 by Steve Carrier
Saturday’s Miami Herald has a feature story on Ric Flair. The article mentions twice that Triple H will induct Flair into the WWE Hall of Fame. Flair also provided an update on his son Reid Flair, who is training at WWE’s developmental territory in Florida.
“''I think [Reid] is feeling more pressure than he's letting on,'' Flair said. “He has had such a phenomenal amateur career. His confidence is good. I just think he is a little bit overwhelmed because all this is happening to me now. I think he feels like it's pressure on him, but it's not. In this case, it's a good thing. There is no doubt in my mind that he will be able to pull it off.” To read the full article, which also features quotes regarding Gary Hart, visit the MiamiHerald.com.

Big Show on Conan O'Brien--
Recap Of The Big Show On Conan O'Brien Last Night
03/22/2008 by Steve Carrier
Big Show was a guest on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien”. Big Show claims that his wife is bigger than Floyd Mayweather, and he can do anything to Mayweather at Mania, even “Kiss him on the mouth” (ACTUAL QUOTE).
Show then told a funny story about his wife being the meanest person on the planet, and how she named their pet turtle “Big Slow” as a rib. Big Show claimed they could never have kids. Quote: “As mean as she is and as big as I am, if we had a son, it’d be the Anti-Christ!”
Show then told a story about getting a New York hot dog, then a crowd of kids came out for autographs and pictures. The hot dog vendor then put all hot dogs “half-price, only one dollar!” Conan then said Big Show was tricked, and $1 is the REGULAR price for a hot dog, and Big Show got a stamp of the word “ASS” superimposed on his face.

I doubt even if Flair didn't pick HHH he has much of a problem with him doing it. Who else would it be? Arn Anderson? Do we really need to hear him talk about them being brothers again? Or maybe he could stay in kayfabe like he did on the Horsemen DVD (which was absolutely mind blowing to me). Who else? Ricky Steamboat? Yeah, that would be exciting. David Flair? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Dusty Rhodes? The same guy who shamelessly asked Flair to induct him into the Horsemen last year? How about no?

Triple H would be so far down the list its scary. Even in the modern age he doesn't have as much relevance of Austin, Rock, or even HBK. Austin and Rock are two main reasons wrestling got so over in the late '90s. I attribute Austin more so that's why I gave him the third slot.
I was focusing mainly on American wrestling and not the foreigners. They can have their own. I don't really want to quibble over the importance of Inoki over someone like Flair or Hogan. Japan always tends to take their wrestling much more seriously than the US.
I'm still undecided on the last spot. Maybe someone like Gorgeous George or Freddie Blassie.

Rain and Thunderstorms in the Forecast for WrestleMania 24
Written by: Kyle Faust - March 23rd, 2008
- According to Weather.com, there is a 60% chance of rain with scattered thunderstorms for Orlando, FL on WrestleMania Sunday.
It looks like WWE may have some weather problems for the big show. There was some concern last year when the news broke that WrestleMania would be held at the outdoor Citrus Bowl. At the time, WWE said they had a backup plan incase the weather wasn't too nice.
Either way, it will be an interesting show, to say the least.

WWE:SmackDown March 21, 2008
- Boy am I getting tired of squash matches. I record SD each week on my DVR and forwarding through the stuff I don't care about when watching it back left me with maybe 30 minutes of show.
- The Diva contest is bad, and the only girl with any personality and charisma (Victoria) just got voted off. Oh yah she's the best worker of the bunch too. Not much to look forward to now.
- I thought the VIP lounge was great. I've always heard MVP was great on the stick, but never saw it myself. Tonight he was great and this was a fun segment. Jericho was great too, but he alwasy is, so that didn't surprise me.
- The Tag Match was solid, and the only real match on the show. Morrison is really on his game.
- The Main Event post match was good solid heat building to Mania, but if Edge gets one more up on Taker before Mania the finish to that match will be the biggest fore gone concusion in Mania History.
- Nothing else on the show interested me. I have no interest in squash matches.
WWE: ECW March 21, 2008 (Airs Friday in Canada)
- Like SD I record this show on my DVR. I think I forwarded through the whole show.
- I don't like Jesse and Festus matches much and there wasn't much else on the show. Kofi is a fun kid to watch but his match was nothing but a brief squash.
- I can't beleive they put Delaney in a match with Chavo. Delany is supposed to be this scrawny little kid that everyone kicks the crap out of and he is actually taller than Chavo and likely only a few pound lighter. A very bad visual for the Champ. How can Collin not have a contract when he is featured on the ECW SuperStars page on the website?
- I thought the Big Show video package was good. I'd love to hold the pads in training just to feel how hard Big Show can hit. I doubt that's going to happen, I guess I'll just have to ask Jericho.

Ric Flair Update, WWE Creative Team Plans, Waltman's Rehab
03/23/2008 by Ryan Clark
IGN posted an interview with future WWE hall of famer Ric Flair. In the interview, Flair said that it wasn't the original plan to face Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania. "No. There was no original plan that I know of." Flair is asked who is most likely to become the next Ric Flair, "I hope nobody wrestles 35 years! If they do, they're healthy and do it for 35 years. The thing unique for me is my health, I feel great. I don't feel any different, I've lost a step, but the only issues I deal with are my own stuff. I think sometimes, I can't do what I used to do, but when I actually go and do things, I can," said Flair. When asked about performing salsa dancing on television, "That's just a rumor. That's just speculation," Flair said.
Before his suspension, WWE was planning a Jeff Hardy vs. Chris Jericho long-term program. Creative was searching for a new feud for Y2J since it was felt his program with JBL wasn't clicking.
Sean Waltman is said to be doing well in rehab and should return to wrestling in about a month.
Konnan has been helping AAA with television and booking the house shows during the week. Dorian Roldan is the AAA head booker.

so I just watched this past week's Smackdown....
Batista in a squash over the former world tag champs
Diva bullshit
Big Show squashes 3 jobbers
Edge squashes Funaki, hits a Tombstone and then cuts a promo
MVP bit with the VIP Lounge & Jericho shows up. That was good, I liked the back and forth between those two
Kane vs. Palumbo? Eh...I like Kane, but Palumbo's gimmick isn't all that great. Cole & Coach stink..."How are you going to get Khali or Big Daddy V out of the ring?!?!?!" Um...how about the same way they did in the Royal Rumble, which was so very recent. I did like Mark Henry coming out & slamming Khali
Holy shit...they actually put the tag team championship on the line on Smackdown? At least they're attempting to do something with those titles, unlike on Raw. Decent match too.
I like that they're gonna do MVP-Jericho next week
Taker vs. Chavo...eh. Still not a fan of Taker's new submission finish. Beat down afterwards was good...work the ribs, sell the injury angle, makes it so if Edge hits the spear that's it
not a great showing for it being the 3rd to last show before 'Mania

News update--
Ric Flair was awarded a key to the city of Columbia, South Carolina today. Local CBS affiliate, WLTX, has an article now online of the ceremony which features a photo of Flair this morning. "I started coming to Columbia, the Township(Auditorium), in 1974," Flair said. "I came down every week on Tuesday. The fan base here, the fans have always been some of the best in the world...We just knew when we walked in it was going to be loud, it was going to be packed, and it was going to be difficult to get out of the ring and back into the dressing room because the fans really get into the show."
JR Comments On Austin Having 1 Last Match
03/24/2008 by Nick "The Man of 1000 Names"
It was reported last week that Stone Cold Steve Austin has left the door open for one more match. In his latest blog over at JRsBarBQ.com, Jim Ross comments on the possibility of Austin wrestling one more match:
"Is it too early to think about Wrestlemania 25? In my personal perspective, it’s never too early. Everything from Fan Axxcess, the Hall of Fame inductees, and certainly the card for the 2009 event should begin being discussed within the next few weeks, in a perfect world. WM25 is BIG and will happen only once and if, as he has said himself, Stone Cold has "one more match left in him" wouldn’t one think that Wrestlemania 25 would be a viable consideration for such a historic bout? At least it is something to think about. Same goes for the Hall of Fame inductees."

Yea Coach really sucks. I read that during one of Undertakers matches when they came near the announce table. And Coach didnt move out of the way like they are supposed to to try and create the, "were in danger" effect. So Coach didn't move and he got a lot of heat for it. So after the show was over he had to take, a spear from Edge, Batista Bomb, and a tombstone. I'm not sure if that is the exact combination but needless to say he got the shit kicked out of him after the show. I like JBL much better, Coach and Cole don't really have any chemistry, from my point of view they don't at least. Is Todd Grisham still with the company? Because they could have replaced JBL with him. I like Todd and i think that he would have been a good fit with Cole.

Bottom line Coach becoming Cole's broadcast partner is just an example of the lack of direction that the WWE has been going through in the past year and doing things at the last moment. If JBL's return was planned, you think that they would have done two things:
1. Have JBL get in shape
2. Find someone with some chops to replace him on the microphone.

I know way couldnt JBL get into shape? He looks like a mess.
And yes they really should have someone who has good mic skills to replace JBL.
News Update--
Punk Cries backstage--
CM Punk & Elijah Burke were very happy work a tag match with Ric Flair on ECW a few weeks ago. Backstage, Burke asked Flair to sign his wrestling trunks and Punk was moved to tears saying it was due to working as Flair's tag team partner in one his final matches before he retires.
HOF update/ what match Mayweather vs. Big Show will be-
Legendary announcer Gordon Solie will be the final name announced as being inducted into the WWE hall of fame this weekend. Jim Ross will induct Solie.
Mike Mooneyham said this morning that The Big Show vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. will likely be a wrestler vs. boxer match at Wrestlemania.
Mooneyham and his wife will be guests of Ric Flair at Wrestlemania on Sunday. Mooneyham and Flair have been friends for years.
The Tickets for WWE's hall of fame ceremony ask fans attending the event to wear "formal attire."
Due to the higher tickets prices for this year's Wrestlemania, the WWE has already surpassed its own record $5.38 million gross of last year's Wrestlemania
Kurt Angle's Pay Check--
-- Kurt Angle appeared on NPR's "Marketplace Money" radio show last week. Angle said he was horrible in amateur wrestling, going 1-16 during his first year. Angle said he picked up psychology in pro wrestling within one year. Regarding his best year financially, Angle claimed he made $3 million in his best year and makes "about seven digits" now. However, Angle said money really isn't important to him.

Backstage News For Tonight's Raw, Cena To Open
03/24/2008 by Ryan Gray
Source - WrestlingObserver
Here are some backstage notes from tonight's Raw at the The Colonial Center in Columbia, South Carolina:
* John Cena is scheduled to open up the show. He will be addressing his WWE Championship match at WrestleMania which will involve himself, Randy Orton, and Triple H.
* As I reported earlier Carlito & United States Champion MVP will take on CM Punk and Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho for a WrestleMania Money in the Bank ladder match preview.
* Floyd Mayweather is expected to appear on tonight’s show.
* As of writing, it is still unknown if Candice Michelle is backstage or not. As I reported this afternoon Maria claims she re-broke her clavicle.
* It is likely Ric Flair will have one more memorable promo in "Flair Country" before his retirement match at WrestleMania this Sunday.
