Norton23?
What a classic example of Sox douche-baggery. I can't wait to go to Fenway this summer with all my Yankees gear on.

I hate defending that shithole of a town but last season a couple of asses kicked the shit out of a Sox fan in a Yonkers bar just cause he was rooting for the Sox.
Happens everywhere. The only difference is that this didnt happen during the season. Which is typical of those dummies since they are so obsessed with the Yankees.
Late word is they all had catchers masks on too.
This made me laugh for a good minute.

The guy is an idiot. He should have known better. It even said that he lives in Cambridge. He should be aware that a Yankee hat is not a good idea. There are some places it is better not to show your team spirit. For instance, I never wear a Red Sox hat anywhere in New York State. I do, however, love wearing a Michigan sweatshirt around Penn State (I wouldn't wear it at Ohio State).
Of course they shouldn't have beat him up and I hope they get charged with assault and battery.

At least you're smart and respectable like that. I would only wear a Yankees hat to Boston if I'm at Fenway for a Yanks/Sox game. Otherwise, it's not worth the hassle. I'm glad you're the same way. I see way too many B hats in NY and people wearing them usually act like dicks because the Sox have been better the past few years. No respect for where you are. Having said that, this guy might have been acting like a jerk off too, but I doubt he did anything to deserve a group beatdown.

I shouldnt have to alter what im wearing because some people are fucking morons. I have 3 hats which I go between. A Rangers one, a Titalist one and a Yankee one. Half the time I dont even realize which one it is because I just grab it off my floor and throw it on. This isnt some white dude walking into a black neighborhood with "N*gger" on his shirt. Its a logo of some team that plays which in the end you have no control how they play or any say in anything they do. You dont deserve to live if you decide to kick someones ass because theyre wearing a yankee hat in Boston. Same goes if it happens to a Sox fan in the Bronx.
I could give two shits if someone is walking around Manhattan wearing a Sox hat. I dont look at it as disrespect. Im not going to say I dont hate the guy wearing it but I dont see what it has to do with respect. The Sox won, your a sox fan, your happy.

I wore my Yankee hat and a Damon T-shirt to Fenway the weekend after he played his first game there with the Yankees. It was a random game against the Orioles but I said fuck it anyway.
The worst that ever happened to me was when some crazy drunk homeless guy was on the verge of shanking me for wearing a Yankees hat.
I don't give a shit either way, but I'm not an asshole when I go to the game.

I've been to Many Sox/Yankee games both at Fenway & at Yankee stadium.
As a SOX fan, I wear the garb no matter where I am. That being said, I've NEVER had a problem (knocking on wood). In fact, the ONLY ones that I've ever seen getting worked are Sox or Yankee fans who act like douches in the opponents stadium. I saw a Sox fan getting smashed and being obnoxious at Yankee stadium last year only to have some dude drop him from 3 rows back. He got what he deserved. I also saw 2 douche Yankee fans walking around Fenway cheering obnoxiously and flipping Sox fans off. They got a cup of beer thrown on them and escorted out.
Like I said, respect the home field and act accordingly and you won't have a problem. Step out and you get what you get.
PS,
Going to a Yankee bar and cheering for the Sox isn't insane, just stupid. That's someone looking for a fight. Chances are, they'll find one.

I love the games themselves, they're always the best series to watch, but I couldn't even watch NESN or listen to WEEI up there a day or so before the series. Maybe it's cause I'm a little bit older now, and I've grown out of the the your team sucks, my team rules phase. I don't mind shit talking if it's in fun, but fighting over this shit is fucking rediculous. I wore my Sox shit to the stadium with no problems at all. Definitely safer in Yankee stadium with a Sox hat, than Fenway with Yankee shit.

Everybody who takes sports... any sport... this seriously should be beaten by a mob.
Seriously, people... grow the fuck up.
I'll add...
When I lived in NY, I went to a few Jets/Giants games at the Meadowlands, and I used to see people bringing their kids to those games. As far as I'm concerned... anybody who brings a child into the Meadowlands stadium during a Jets/Giants game should be reported to Child Protective Services.
NY/NJ fans are fucking animals. One of the popular tricks amongst the fat slob Artie Lange clones in the upper decks... they were too drunk and lazy to get up and go to the bathroom, so they used to sit right at their seats and piss in a cup... and when they became agitated at what was taking place on the field, they would hurl said cup of piss down upon their fellow fans in the decks below.
I was amazed when I went to a Colts game out here in Indianapolis... the fans actually behave themselves... you could almost call them polite. I wouldn't think twice about bringing my kids to a game.
NY/NJ and Boston fans are like children... dangerous, mean-spirited children. It's like Lord of the Flies in the stands at those games.

Pissing in cups is jusy unexusable lazy slobs.
Lord of the flies? eh maybe just passionate. We all have assholes amongst us remember. Most of us can be passonate and civilized at the same time. Yet wearing another teams gear and talking shit in thier stadium/field is usually grounds for some kind of retaliation. Have some common sense. Gonna have the balls to wear it? Expect tp hear the comments and keep ur mouth shut. Common sense prevails.
I completely agree with Perch (only because its pre-season).
