I guess we have an OK system but I never really felt it was so amazingly great that I want to gush over it. I'm really kind of eh on America. Same goes for any sort of school pride or city pride or ethnic pride. I also never really got why family loyalty was such a big deal either. I also hate children and never want them. I've never been to a therapist or on any sort of medication. I believe in abortion and the death penalty (together might put me in the minority). I am not a fan of thongs and tight jeans on girls, I prefer them in skirts and sweaters or dresses.

It's a measurable thing. What other country has lasted as long as we have in modern times?

And I agree that girls look better in nice clothing, but I gotta call you out. Nothing wrong with a thong under that nice dress.

I just can't stand the whole America, Love it or leave it mentality. Is this a great country, yeah, but to sit there and try to deny the country has blood on its hand(like all nations do), is fucking retarded. To deny this country, is behind in certain areas, is just stupid.

Neither country has had the same form of government longer than we have, and both are similar to what we have now. And you're right, these times are faster, that is why it's so fascinating that our system has lasted so long.

But I just find it hard to really get a sense of "today" on the world stage and figure out what's a proper turn around time for governments.

But they didn't have TV, radio and the internet to tell the far ends of the empire what a cunt Caesar was. But they did keep people fat dumb and happy no matter what shit was going on in the country. And when people stop getting their meds, American Idol and fast food that's when shit will come down. It's very hard to affect change. People genuinely like the status quo, they find it comforting. but in the modern day, this only pertains to a small percentage of people who take religious beliefs to a radical extreme.

not every person who believes in god will take the bible and break it down to the most basic interpretation. it's important to keep re-interpreting it so that it remains relevant to real life. that's the beauty and the responsibility of faith. :)

My big conspiracy theory is like the Illuminati theory- that there are people behind the people. The government means nothing, the Congress means nothing, there are people who just control our country and the world that we'll never know. Because really, how can you expect a country to last or do anything when you're elected every 2, 4, 6 years and start campaigning against six months after winning?

No, there has to be people who really handle things and to what ends I don't know. But they really like pitting us against one another. They're non-partisan but they fund all sorts of partisan groups. They're the "evil liiberals" who run Media Matters and try to get Imus fired and they're the dreaded conservatives who cry family values at the drop of the hat.

And in a weird way, I feel oddly more comfortable under that idea than I do thinking that our fates are left in the hands of Senate subcommittees.

My thoughts tend to stray to homicide. I tend to think more about homicide than suicide but that's because there are far more people. Though there are times when thoughts of suicide are more prevalent. And it's not so much a depression thing as much as a curiosity/wonder/even boredom thing.

Lately, and maybe it's because of Dexter, I've been digging the idea more of the anti-hero homicide.
