Duchovny, 48, sprang to fame starring as the conspiracy-minded FBI agent Fox Mulder on Fox network's paranormal thriller "The X-Files," which spawned two big-screen spinoffs, one of which ran in theaters this summer.

He has been married since 1997 to actress Tea Leoni, with whom he has a 9-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old son.

"I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction," he said in a statement released through his lawyer, Stanton "Larry" Stein. "I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family."

I think it's too soon to tell. My girlfriends mom whose only ever voted for a Republican once (Reagan) and was supporting Obama, has already called her twice today about how great this is.

Living in CA my biggest issue is really the effects of illegal immigration if having on us. I'm an independant and had been leaning towards the right but if McCain wins, he is probably going to do some form of amnesty, if Obama wins, the Republicans have enough senators to keep it from going forward, so I don't really know who to support. Not like it matters in CA.

Any skeletons she might have I think will be far fewer then the October surprises we get on Obama and all the deals Biden has made in the past with his sons being lobbyists and working for credit card companies while he was voting on bills for those credit card companies might look pretty bad.

I think it should be a pretty interesting next couple of months.
