I have had both and at least in New England, the XM reception is better overall and drops less for me. The satellite angle may work out better up in Canada for Sirius. I'm sure there's cases were Opie and Anthony fans work in a place where Sirius comes in and XM doesn't.

Ive heard this locally on WRRV. They used to have problems where something blocked their line-of-sight signal to the towers from the station (usually trees with let leaves). It would come back with a tone like that and the volume fading.

No. Stern got sole legal ownership of all of his WXRK tapes from CBS as part of the settlement when CBS dropped their multi hundred million dollar lawsuit against Stern for using CBS airwaves to promote his move to Sirius. Why CBS gave Stern his tapes to settle a dropped lawsuit that they had filed against Stern, I don't know. Even before the settlement, both sides co-owned the tapes, and neither Stern nor CBS could use the tapes without permission of the other.

Oh, I can tell you.

Opie & Anthony put on entertaining, ORIGINAL radio almost every day. They take risks to come up with the next great bit. They allow their guests to have the spotlight. They are brave enough to go after anybody in radio, not just the easy targets. O&A actually care about their fans and do whatever is necessary to keep a relationship with them (record-setting comedy tours, animation festivals, etc.) instead of treating them like pariahs.

Howard Stern has been doing the same repetitive crap since he went to Sirius (abusing a midget, having his interns do gay stuff to each other, having naked women in studio in the age of the Internet). That is, of course, when he actually does radio and isn't on his upteempth vacation. He's been caught on several occasions setting up fake phone calls through a special call-seeding service (particularly, electriceelman) and never takes phone calls criticizing himself to any real degree. While O&A are able to get Sylvester Stallone and Floyd Meriweather on their show, Howard has to rely on Frank and Jackie Stallone, Joe Frazier, and whatever has-been D-list celebrities are coming on air to promote scam timeshares.

howard came on the scene before there was really anything else on the platform & the fcc was not as strict. the boys and anybody else have to shape the show in different forms. there will be another great radio program but the ideas have to be crafted in a much more different manner.
