Well with Wrestlemania behind us and Ric Flair now gone. Lets hope for more Raws like last nights.

Last nights ceremony moved me to tears, and it was great to finally see a tribute like that, that dind't have to come from the expense of a wrestler dying.

I'm finally watching my DVR of Raw, so I've got a few thoughts going on:
JBL vs. Orton? I like it if JBL gets over...he can generate a much more potent crowd reaction than Randy does I think. And he's a funny bastard. Love the Matt Hardy run-in
The return of Cryme Tyme made me a very happy boy...lets just hope they don't (a) force skits & vignettes on us every single week; (b) don't get stuck doing singles matches or (c) just never show up on TV
HBK promo was pretty good...he's gonna pull the "I wish I didn't have to do this" angle. I liked Batista giving him the stink eye...that could be decent.
London/Kendrick vs. Rhodes & Holly was a damned good match. London was selling those chops like they were gunshots. Very cool to at least remind everyone that, yes there are tag champs on Raw. Hopefully they'll start to defend the titles on TV more often
Santino summing up the Divas matches....that was fantastic. He rules. All of the divas should be at home making pasta and babies :haha7: :haha7: :haha7:
Hardy vs. Orton was a damned good match. It really made Matt Hardy look good and a decent threat to Orton...and by having Orton hit the RKO out of nowhere for the win makes that move look even better.
Nice lil tribute by Dusty
I love Victoria's boobies...and I'd willingly take Maria's 5-head into my junk
Flair's speech was phenominal...you can tell that he did not expect HHH and everyone else to come out and say goodbye. He lost it crying at least 5 times. Ric's wife Tiffany has some absolutely glorious tits. I loved seeing Show just lose it...you can tell that Ric meant a lot to him
definitely the best type of send-off in a long time...the song wasn't the best, but whatever
It's been said before, but if the Ric Flair ceremony didn't move you in SOME way - not to tears, necessarily, but just made you feel emotion - then you should question whether you're an actual wrestling fan.
It was absolutely wonderful. A fitting sendoff to the greatest of all time.

I was watching the promo that they have been playing and i cant watch it because i start tearing up. That was a really great sendoff, and i hope that they include that in the Wrestlemania DVD as an extra.
- Cryme Tyme teased fans on their MySpace page by writing "T.N.A.B." on their profile pages which lead the speculation that the team was "TNA Bound." Obviously, they weren’t TNA bound as they returned to RAW last night and it was revealed that the acronym actually stood for "Them N----z Are Back."

Except for INEXPLICABLY jobbing our CM Punk and Matt Hardy for no apparent reason, last nights RAW was excellent.
Hopefully the creative team can remember that sometimes, real people can generate real emotion in wrestling--and that sometimes its just that simple.

yeah, that was one thing I didn't like...win MiTB, job the next night. It's cool that it was Jericho and all, but that may take some of the luster off of winning MiTB
As for Hardy doing the job, he dominated the entire match, then got caught with the RKO.
Kugzilla
04-01-2008, 06:43 PM
yeah, but it was just so silly to kill off the momoentum that they both had-there were other guys for them to fight-and why couldn't MVP have gotten involved with the Orton match-Keeping HArdy strong instead of a clean finish...
I know they want to make Orton strong, and although I find him about as entertaining as a colonoscopy, I'll give them credit for trying to give the guy a run for a bit.
There was no reason for Jericho and Punk to fight last night-I hear they may be in a program together for a bit, but it was still silly to job him out clean...
But, I've already put more thought into it than WWE creative, I imagine.
Hold on, who here thinks Hardy should have gone over last night?
Look, I'm a BIG Matt Hardy fan, after the guy actually went on to become one of the most consistently good workers in the entire company during 2007......but Orton is the WWE champ, and just went over the two biggest faces in the entire company (assuming you consider HHH a face) the night before.
You can't job out Orton to Matt Hardy. But he certainly had a good match with Orton, and I'm hoping that the fact that the guy got to basically main event against the champion is an indicator that big things are in store for Matt. He should be US champion at the LEAST, and could easily slide into the Smackdown main event. He may not be as over as Jeff, but he's a BETTER worker than his brother, and isn't exactly unpopular with the fans.

Raw ratting in-
This Week's WWE Monday Night RAW Rating Is In
04/01/2008 by Tim Brown
Last night’s edition of WWE Monday Night RAW pulled a 3.9 cable rating with ours of 3.77 and 4.05. That’s up only a half point from last week’s disappointing go-home show before WrestleMaina and comes out to around 4,399,200 viewers.
WWE had to have expected something bigger than that for the follow up show to the biggest PPV of the year.
Lance Storm on Ric Flair--
Thank You, Ric
April 1, 2008
Even though this is April Fools day, I am about to write a very serious commentary. I am of course going to write about last night’s episode of RAW, or more specifically the final segment of last night’s RAW.
There is a lot of bullshit and crap in this business. There have been endless stories of Politics and Backstabbing, Sex Scandals, Drug Scandals, Early Death Rates, Suicides, and even Murder. After the Benoit tragedy last year there was a brief period of time when I wanted to wash my hands of the entire industry and never be a part of it again. That being said I have never been happier or more proud to be a part of the wrestling business as I was last night watching Ric Flair on RAW. That closing segment was, in my opinion, the single classiest moment in pro-wrestling history.
If you missed last night’s RAW you absolutely have to find a copy of that show and watch it, because it was the greatest, most emotional, moment this business has ever seen. If you watched that show and didn’t wish you were there live to say thank you to Ric Flair in person, you should be thrown out of this business. If you were not moved emotionally by that farewell you should not even be allowed to call yourself a wrestling fan. I told my students this morning that if they didn’t get choked up watching that show, they had no business being a part of this industry, and should be thrown out of it.
No one in the history of our sport has bled, sweat, or paid the price like Ric Flair has. He gave everything he had in every match he was in for over 35 years. He has had without a doubt the greatest career of all time and at the end of it all he didn’t even want to be praised, like so many others would have, he wanted to say thank you to the fans. Ric Flair is a class act and I would like to take this opportunity to say my thank you.
Thank you Ric, for all the entertainment you provided me as a wrestling fan. I loved and still remember the joy of watching your matches with Ricky Steamboat, your I Quit match with Terry Funk, the Crockett Cup match with Barry Windham, The American Bash match with Sting, War Games, your first WWF promo, the Royal Rumble where you bumped and sold for every person on the roster before capturing the WWF World Title. THANK YOU
Thank you Ric, for bringing credibility and respect to the industry that I love. I remember a quote (I think by Dave Meltzer) that said, “With people like Ric Flair in the business, it’s a wonder pro-wrestling isn’t more respected.” I couldn’t agree more. What respect this business has, is largely in part to guys like Ric Flair. A guy who after hanging up his boots after over 35 years said that he hopes everyone that ever bought a ticket to see Ric Flair wrestle got their money’s worth. That’s class, and I think it’s safe to say Ric; every damn one of us absolutely got our money’s worth! THANK YOU
Thank you Ric, for being a joy to work with. I will treasure every moment we spent together on the job. Our promos in WCW, or promos together in WWE, my favourite being my unbelievably flat and serious WOOOOOO when trying to suck up and get my job back after the Invasion angle. THANK YOU
Thanks you Ric, for the opportunity to get in the ring with you. Your asking me to work out with you in the ring before your WrestleMania match with Taker is still the greatest compliment of my career. Our one official match together, the Tag Match in Pittsburgh, is a memory I will cherish forever. Taking the big slam off the top rope from the nature Boy himself, was the greatest “mark moment” of my career. I remember asking you if you would let me do it, and I remember that spot like it was yesterday. THANK YOU
Thank you Ric, for making me a fan again. After 17 years in the business I wasn’t sure I could just sit back and enjoy the business as a fan anymore, but you gave that back to me. Watching Raw before WrestleMania gave me goose bumps, and made me a kid again. When you told Shawn to shut up and smacked the cowboy hat off his head I popped. I genuinely popped and decided at that moment I had to see WrestleMania. I ordered WrestleMania to see the last match of the greatest ever; I bought a ticket to see Ric Flair wrestle, and like millions of people before me, I got my money’s worth. THANK YOU
Thank you Ric, for last night’s RAW. Thank you for balling your eyes out and sharing it with us. Thank you for going out in style. Thank you for giving more to this business than you could ever take from it. Thank you for making me proud to be a part of this industry. You are this business Ric and for that the wrestling industry is grateful.
THANK YOU RIC, THANK YOU RIC!!!!!!!!

Okay, here's my two cents on Hardy and Punk jobbing last night.
I had no problem what so ever with either of them jobbing. You can't tell me that either of them looked weak or worthless in their loses. As was said before, you don't job the champion out the night after Mania to someone much lower on the totem pole than his opponent(s) at Mania.
As far as Punk jobbing out to Jericho, again, I had no problem with it, even as a huge Punk mark. It's the perfect lead in to the angle of the feud. Jericho beats Punk, thinks that means that he should have won MitB, the feud starts off, and culminates in the MitB contract being on the line, hopefully against the IC strap. And once again, with how that match went, you can't say that Punk came out looking weak.
Matt Hardy needs to re-disappear, too bad he doesn't have a second appendix to be removed.

3 WWE Stars Sent Text Messages To Benoit After His Death
04/02/2008 by Ryan Clark
Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter
Last summer there was a lot of talk about the cryptic text messages sent by and to Chris Benoit over the weekend of the Benoit family tragedy.
According to new records recently released, three WWE wrestlers sent text messages to Chris Benoit on June 26th, two days after he died.
-- One text read: "Wish I could see the match you and Eddie are having today. You loved pro wrestling and the world of pro wrestling loves you Chris, and it won't be the same without you."
-- Another texted: "God bless your soul, brother. Thank you for all you've done. God bless you, Nancy and your son."
-- A prominent WWE star texted: "I love you Chris."
WWE Unhappy With RAW Rating, RAW Replay, Chavo/TNA
04/02/2008 by Ryan Clark
- Internally WWE was not happy with the Raw rating from Monday night. The company was expecting the show to do at least a 4.0 coming out of WrestleMania. The show ended up doing a 3.9 rating. WWE did not even have the rating sent out company-wide due to how disappointed they were with it. Usually WWE sends the RAW rating out to some members of the staff, but not this week.
Mayweather’s Backstage Rep, WWE’s New Slogan, More
04/02/2008 by Tim Brown
Partial Credit: Wrestling Observer Newsletter
-- Floyd Mayweather has won over pretty much everyone within WWE who was originally against bringing him in with his enthusiasm and excitement at WrestleMania. Although it took a lot of work to get the final match that everyone saw at ’Mania, most within the company feel it was all worth it. Mayweather was really pumped up when he got backstage after his match and said he wants to do it again. The only strike against Floyd within WWE is that his entourage eats more of the catering than any other wrestler’s guests in history.
-- FOX Sports has an article online about the Floyd Mayweather Jr./Big Show match at WrestleMania 24. You can check it out at this link.
-- Jay Leno joked about WWE’s new slogan “The Power Is Back” on last night’s edition of The Tonight Show, saying that it was better than the first one they came up with, “Faker Than A Hooker’s Orgasm.”
Great Khali Meets Steve Carell, WWE/ESPN, Chavo/TNA Update
04/02/2008 by Ryan Clark
MTV.com has a new article online on the upcoming Get Smart film starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Steve Carell, and Anne Hataway. The Great Khali also has a role in the film. Steve Carell commented in the article on meeting Khali by saying, "Literally, you shake his hand and you are shaking the inner part of his palm. He could put his hand over your entire head and crush you. He's a very sweet guy, but he did not speak English really well. I don't even know if he was completely aware that he was doing a movie."
ESPN boxing writer Dan Rafael wrote a positive blog on Sunday's WWE WrestleMania pay-per-view and says that HBO, Showtime, as well as most promoters including UFC, could "learn a lesson or two" from WWE's production. The piece is for ESPN.com Insiders only.
Contrary to Internet reports, it is not believed that Chavo Guerrero was backstage at any TNA events over the weekend in Orlando, Florida.
27-year-old Ryan Bishop, a 6-foot 6-inch former tight end for the New York Giants has signed a developmental deal with WWE, and is currently training in FCW.

From the March, 2008 thread:
Finally got to watch the best Raw in years.
a) Love that Cryme Tyme is back. Apparently, my 7 month old son loves that they're back, too. I was holding him, bouncing him up and down, saying, "Money, money, yeah, yeah" over and over, and he loved it. Laughed like a maniac.
b) Can't wait for the HBK-Batista feud. Seriously.
c) Santino rules. Said everything that needed to be said about the Divas. Love how he got a great pop from the cowd with it.
d) Great Y2J-CM Punk match, but why in the hell would they kill Punk's buzz with a loss after his biggest win of his career? Didn't make sense to me.
e) Great Orton-Hardy match. But why would they kill Hardy's momentum with a loss?
There's nothing I can add to the Flair ceremony. I really thought they would have somebody come out and beat Flair to a bloody pulp. The ending to Raw was simply amazing.
Can't wait for the WM24 DVD. Can't wait for the new Flair DVD (comes out in July). Hope they put all the retirement stuff on the DVD.
I was going through a bunch of my old WWF VHS tapes. Found a Raw from April, 2000. Triple H defended the WWF Championship against Chris Jericho, and Jericho won the belt. Later that night, the match was overturned, and Jericho's win was absolved from the record books.
Anyway - what was amazing about that match was how over Jericho was. Seriously. The whole building sounded like it was shaking with "Y2J!" chants. When Jericho got the pin, I can't remember a louder crowd from that time.
That being said - if Jericho has the ability to get over like that, why can't they do more with him? Is creative that stupid? Never mind. I answered my own question.

The only problem I had with the outcome of the Hard/Orton match was the completely retarded finish. Orton gets hit with the Twist of Fate on the floor outside the ring and is somehow in better shape than Hardy when they get into the ring? Is Orton stealing Cena's Superman gimmick? Even the announcers were at a loss to explain it. All they could say was that Orton was "playing possum." So, the Twist of Fate on the floor isn't remotely damaging, but the exact same move renamed the RKO is devastating inside the ring. Makes perfect sense.

Someone brought up that Batista and Randy should have broke character and came out as Evolution. That would have been good.
Also i found the links to the Ric Flair & Four Horsemen DVD on youtube.

Eat cock Undertaker.
So Undertaker doing his gimmick sucks, but Cena doing his shitty Marine "salute" doesn't. Do I wish Undertaker would have broken character? Yes, I do, but it was still classy with the whole kneeling on one knee. I also wished all of Evolution, as O&Apartrock24 pointed out, came out together, but that wasn't happening either.

Its a fucking salute. He didn't do it serious, he was saluting Flair.
You didn't see Cena running down to the ring with his arms all animated like he's living his gimmick. He came down and paid his respects and that's it.
But why is it that every time I shit on someone they try to turn it around and shit on Cena? Get a new act. I don't defend everything the guy does. Just because I don't hate him like the bulk of the internet wrestling fan club doesn't mean I am his number one fan.

You see the salute was a tribute to Flair. How can you call some fucking assclown taking forever to get to the ring, and then doing his little corner intro a tribute to Flair? It was him making it about himself.
It was him making it about himself by not coming to the ring when everyone else did.

You see the military salute is a pretty common thing to do. It showed Cena's respect for Flair. It was quick. It fit in with who he is, and wasn't flashy at all. He came out to salute Ric Flair so what else was he supposed to do? Grab him in a bearhug and squeeze his ass while licking his ear lobe? He gave him a salute. He didn't drag his ass getting to the ring and go through his entire ring entrance. No one did. They all came to the ring and made their point. Except for the Undertaker. No matter how much you try to spin this, the Undertaker is an asshole.
Ok, if he doesn't take his gimmick seriously, where was he on the Eddie tribute show? How come he didn't come out on camera for Flair?
Answer me those questions.
The guy has done a lot for the company in his nearly two decades there. I'm not going to deny that. However, he rarely has entertained me. I find him to be annoying.

It fits him because its something he does. Its his sign of respect. Yes, its from his shitty movie but its still a nice gesture and you can tell by looking at him that he was incredibly sincere about it.
A lot of people have been giving him shit for it, not just me. Yeah, he came out to the live crowd. Good for him. He also came out doing his shtick.
If you don't like Cena then fine. Its your personal decision not to, but a good number of the comments are bullshit. And a number of the reasoning is hypocritical given people's stances on the Undertaker.
People talk about Cena's stale gimmick and yet the Undertaker hasn't changed his much in twenty years. People rag on Cena for the putrid five knuckle shuffle, yet the Undertaker does "old school". When you cut down to the core, how is that any different? Both are insulting to the fan.
I think that if Cena or Triple H came out AFTER the taping and did their full entrance a lot more people would be in here upset. But hey, I'm going to call a spade a spade (oh get it, that can be a race joke about Cena because he acts like he's black, lol).

The Undertaker reinvented himself with "American Bad Ass" gimmick. Undertaker also doesn't do half the supernatural shindigs he used to do back in the day. Cena is still a white rapper, except now he can overcome the odds everytime.
Comparisons between the dreadful 5 knuckle Shuffle and "Old School" are stupid. Old School displays the athletic ability of The Undertaker, and it looks bad ass. The 5 Knuckle Shuffle doesn't do either one of those things.

The Undertaker still comes to the ring with druids there. Its pretty much the same shit he's been doing, with the exception of the biker days. Cena has evolved at least three times since he came in. He doesn't sell, he almost ALWAYS goes over, and if he doesn't, it's usually because the heel (who almost always is booked to be a total chickenshit in utter fear of the Undertaker and his supernatural powers) has to go through ridiculous levels of cheating to get the win.

Rock and Austin heat update-
Huge Update On Heat Between Rock & Austin, More
04/03/2008 by Tim Brown
Credit: ProWrestling.net
There is definitely some friction between Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and WWE right now, both with management and some top wrestlers. John Cena touched on the issue during an interview recently published in the UK Sun where he questioned why Rock couldn’t attend more WWE events.
Rock has rejected WWE’s invitations to several events since he left the company for Hollywood, and this doesn’t sit well with Cena, Vince McMahon, Triple H and Steve Austin just to name a few. These guys feel that Rock could domore to payback the company and the fans that helped him become a star.
There are also a number of people within the company who sympathize with Rock’s situation though, as he’s become a hot name in Hollywood and is being advised to distance himself from pro wrestling. Rock makes a ton more money with movies than he could with wrestling, and obviously wants to do what will take care of his family.
In Austin’s case, it’s said that he wishes he was in the physical condition to continue wrestling, so it’s hard for him to understand why a guy like Rock wouldn’t want to do more in wrestling. Austin’s lengthy list of injuries likely won’t allow him to wrestle another full-length match. Rock and Austin haven’t stayed in touch with each other over the last few years and there was reportedly some friction between the two at the Hall of Fame ceremony on Saturday night.
Most of Rock’s defenders in WWE say that people are jealous of his success and are just hating on him, but seem to think that the situation with Austin is about much more than jealously. Austin is said to recognize the fact that Rock is doing great with his acting career, and that it could mean more opportunities for more wrestlers in Hollywood.
One source within WWE mentioned Rock returning to the ring at WrestleMania 25, but said that the chances of it happening are far less than 50/50 if for no other reson than his busy filming schedule.

Wrestlezone-- A video of handheld camera footage of everything that took place after Raw went off the air on Monday was available on YouTube, but WWE had the video pulled due to a copyright claim from the company. The footage showed Undertaker and Vince McMahon walking to the ring at separate times to pay tribute to Flair. When Taker made his entrance, all the wrestlers got on separate sides so that he could make his way. Taker hugged Flair and kneeled before him.

Bobby Lashley In MMA, Ric Flair/Howard Stern, & More

--Thanks to site reader Tony for sending word that Bobby Lashley is now managed by Zinkin Entertainment, who also represents Chuck Liddell, Forrest Griffen, Daniel Puder, and Josh Koscheck among other fighters. The company says that Lashley is currently available for MMA competition.
-- The presale password for the SmackDown/ECW tapings in Des Moines, IA on 5/20 is: WWE0520.
-- Thanks to Cody for sending this in: I just wanted to let you know that on today's Howard Stern radio show, Howard played a clip of Ric Flair getting the key to the Columbia, South Carolina, and kinda poked fun at him for getting emotional while getting the key to the city... Howard pretty much said that the key to the city was worthless because it really does do anything (Howard Stern got a key to Los Vegas himself), but George Takai, who is the announcer on the show said Flair was probably just emotional because of the meaning of it, and that it meant a lot to him. The discussion over the matter probably only went on for 3 minutes or so.

Ugh. I like MMA and submissions when appropriate. I even like when Taker busts out a dragon sleeper or a leg lock, it's diversity. But not AT FUCKING WRESTLEMANIA! He does the same thing every year and the people go nuts. The opponent goes for their own tombstone, he counters, does the tombstone, cross the arms and stick out the tongue, 1 2 3. We all love it.
Stupid ending. They'll edit it for future tapes and just show him doing the tombstone and flash forward to raising the title.
Watching SD, they showed the highlight video of WM24. When it came to the Edge/UT match? Highlights of the match (none being the submission), tombstone, UT's celebration.

I agree with you about the Batista vs. HBK feud, but the only thing about that promo segment last night was it seemed like a lot of Batista's lines were forced. Because we all know that HBK is sincere about what he did and hes not what Batista described him as. You know. if you look at the crowds reaction they are sort of giving Batista some heat. But all in all the feud really needs to develop more, i dont like the, sympathetic, O Woe is me, HBK character that much. I'm interested in the Batista-HBK feud also. I think another way they could have done the promo, was having Batista basically saying that if anyone was going to retire Flair, it should have been him.
The Big Show/Khali thing is only a week old and I'm already tired of it. In the process of doing it, the WWE once again showed how they truly feel about tag team wrestling.
Other than that, it wasn't a terrible Smackdown. Considering I think there was a hangover from Wrestlemania and Flair's retirement ceremony, they did a good job at closing out the week.

Wrestlezone..... According to the WWE's latest business report, the 2008 No Way Out pay-per-view drew around 330,000 to 340,000 buys (they don't reveal the actual figure, as it's shown in graph form), substantially up from last year's show, which drew around 200,000 buys featuring Cena & HBK vs. Batista & Undertaker, not to mention Mr. Kennedy vs. Bobby Lashley. Between the Royal Rumble and No Way Out, the company has garnered 942,000 pay-per-view buys in 2008. Through this time last year, WWE did 901,000 buys on three pay-per-view shows.
I found this interesting tidbit of information on wrestlezone. Basically without New Year's Revolution this year, the WWE still had more buys after two months. See what can happen when you spend more time developing storylines, instead of trying to swindle money from 3 rushed PPVs.
----
Also I absolutely loved the Kane and Undertaker match from Smackdown. Both of them were pretty much eual throughout the whole match (which is how it should be instead of squash matches like Mania 20). The psycholgy of the match was very well done too, with both brohers trying to win without serious damage, until Kane finally shifted a gear, and Taker rose another level too. The Brothers Of Destruction dominating was just and added bonus.

Title Turmoil
April 7, 2008
Randy Orton has reigned as WWE Champion since October 2007. Nonetheless, his victory in the Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania XXIV over John Cena and Triple H was nothing if not surprising.
Pundits had dismissed his chances of emerging victorious as less than 1-in-5. Yet there he was on Raw last Monday night holding the title aloft for all to see. While there’s little doubt that both Cena and The Game have designs to recapture the gold from the Legend Killer, Orton also seems to have picked up another two more possible contenders for the throne: JBL and a resurgent Matt Hardy.
JBL confronted the reigning WWE Champion and, in typical Layfield fashion, made no bones about his intentions to gun for the title. For his part, Hardy returned to Raw last Monday seeking revenge for a punt to the head that Orton delivered to him shortly after his appendix surgery. In a match between Orton and Hardy, the Legend Killer came out on top that night, but it’s unlikely that anyone has heard the last of Hardy.
Can Orton really fend off every Superstar he has gunning for him? Is the “Age of Orton” on borrowed time?
And how exactly will Shawn Michaels respond after the roller coaster ride of emotion he’s been on recently? First, he ends the career of his dear friend, Ric Flair, at WrestleMania, then, the following night, Flair forgives him for sending him into retirement.
Exactly how spent is The Showstopper, and how much will it affect him in the ring?
In other Raw action, Santino Marella just can’t seem to let go of his ex-girlfriend, Maria. The Italian Stallion felt the need last Monday night to challenge Maria to an Anything Goes Match, thinking he could exact some measure of revenge for their split. Unfortunately for Marella, the Playboy cover girl was fueled by anger, and with the rest of WWE’s gorgeous Divas fueled by Santino’s big mouth, it was the Italian export who found himself on the losing end of a bunny beat down.
After suffering the ultimate humiliation at the manicured hands of Maria and the Divas, have we heard the last of the jealous ex, or will the Italian Stallion be back for more?
Don’t miss Raw Monday night at 9/8 CT on USA Network to see what happens.

Stacks Of Drugs & Steroids Found In Former Home Of WWE Star
04/07/2008 by Keelan Balderson
Source: My Fox Atlanta
It what may prove to be another mark against WWE's reputation, police in Locust Grove, GA are investigating a case where a man has found stacks of drugs and steroids, along with needles in his home that are not his. The house used to be owned by an unnamed WWE wrestler.
The Locust Grove man showed FOX 5 News where his daughter stumbled upon the disturbing find in the attic of their home.
"It was actually pushed over closer to this wall," said the homeowner as he pointed to a nearby wall.
The homeowner was referring to two shoe boxes that contained several small bottles labeled as testosterone, neomasteron -- which is also an anabolic steroid -- some bottles with no markings at all and there were numerous unopened syringes.
Asked what his thoughts were upon discovering the drugs, the homeowner said "well being the fact that I have children I was horrified because my kids actually play up in that room and so the first thing I thought is what if there were to open that and they would have gotten a hold of the stuff and the syringes."
The shoeboxes also contained personal documents with the name of a man who used to live in the house.
Among those documents was a contract from the W.W.E. and a memorandum to W.W.E. superstars in 2004 about the new dress code.
Police will not release the wrestler's name until they have spoken to him. It must be noted that it is not illegal if there are subscriptions written by a doctor for the drugs and if this dates back several years the person wouldn't have broken any Wellness Policy.
J.R Hospitalized, News On Ric Flair, Vengeance, Lockdown
04/06/2008 by Ryan Clark
World Wrestling Entertainment is currently advertising its June PPV in Dallas, TX as "WWE presents Night of Champions." The PPV, which takes place on June 29, is normally referred to as Vengeance during that month and has been for the last few years.
Jim Ross noted in his recent blog that he recently underwent a colonoscopy and had 3-4 non-cancerous polyps removed. Ross compared this procedure to his ordeal in 2005 as "a day at the beach." Ross noted that he was still under the weather at WrestleMania last weekend. He will be at RAW in Albany, NY this Monday. On behalf of the staff here at the website, we would like to wish Ross a speedy recovery!
Dee sent this in: I'm just letting you guys know that Ric Flair was the guest PA annoucer for the New Orleans Hornets/Golden State Warriors NBA game today. He did the home team starting line-up intros, and of course, the crowd went nuts for him. The game actually aired on ABC, and they gave him a decent amount of air-time, and with none of the snide comments that usually come whenever wrestlers do something like this. If I am not mistaken, I think I even heard a few "Woo's" come through the PA system, which probably means that the Hornets have added it as one of their sound effects that they use during a game.
While WWE's website is listing its June 29 PPV as "The Night of Champions", the company is still listing the show as Vengeance on its main page. Thanks to everyone who sent that in.
TNA is off the road until April 12 when they hold the Lockdown Fanfest in Lowell, MA at the Doubletree Hotel and then the Lockdown PPV the following night in Lowell on April 13. The company will then run TV tapings on April 15 and 16 (Tuesday and Wednesday).
ajor TNA Screw-Up, iMPACT!, Loads Of Backstage TNA News
04/06/2008 by Ryan Clark
According to Derek Burgan, after the TNA/Midway private showing for the media last week in Orlando, many TNA and WWE wrestlers were spotted at a local bar including Rey Mysterio, Umaga, the Dudley Boys, and Shelly Martinez. Myterio, according to the source, Mysterio was partying pretty hard.
Also according to Burgan, there was a TNA PR department screw up in inviting VIP's for the 3/27 Live iMPACT!. Apparently TNA sent out a mass e-mail and was sent to people that shouldn't have received it.
Despite reports that thousands were turned away for the 3/27 Live iMPACT!, Burgan says it was more like about 400 fans that turned away.
Burgan also said that Highlander Robbie McAllister being at iMPACT! wasn't a big deal at the taping as many didn't even know who he was.
TNAwrestling.com has put up some footage from Friday's house show in Spencer, Iowa.
Only the $35.00 seats remain for Lockdown in Lowell, MA on 4/13.
Major WWE Backlash Spoiler Inside?, Heyman/Flair, RAW, More
04/06/2008 by Ryan Clark
Reader Mark sent word that there are advertisements running on Sky Sports 3 in the United Kingdom promoting Triple H vs. JBL vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at Backlash later this month. If this is the case, I'd say there is where Triple H takes back the title.
The live late night edition of this past Monday's Raw did about 73,000 viewers in the UK.

Current WWE stars Fit Finlay and William Regal are among those who have resided it Atlanta, GA, the site of WWE's latest drug scandal.
There is talk that Ric Flair could return to WWE television in a non-wrestling role in a few months. Flair is opposed to becoming a road agent or announcer.

From NYSWF Wrestling: Boxer Larry Barnes defeated wrestler Larry Sweeney in 1:04 in the fourth round of their Boxer vs. Wrestler Match in New Rochelle, NY on April 5. Special Guest Judges Pete Gas & Sam Roberts of The Opie & Anthony Show interfered during the third round but got a receipt from Barnes in the fourth round prior to Barnes pinning Sweeney.
Timmy Baltimore of Derby City Wrestling has been signed by WWE.
Adam Lebow sent this in: During the 2am/morning loop edition of TSN Sportscenter, before showing the Hornets/Warriors highlights, TSN showed Ric Flair doing the player introductions, but mostly him in his robe from Mania doing some 'Wooos' which propted anchor Holly Horton to say that Flair didn't really do anything in the introductions except have his pyro result in Chris Paul having to escape the smoke (they showed video footage of this happening).
WWE.com has an article up about Batista and CM Punk meeting with Make-A-Wish's "Circle of Champions" last Tuesday in Miami.
Several people within WWE felt Dusty Rhodes needed a change of venue, thus his move to developmental should be a good transition.

Former WWE and TNA wrestler Andrew "Test" Martin was arrested in Florida on Sunday morning for driving under the influence.
According to the police report, Martin was pulled over by an off-duty police officer after she spotted a "reckless vehicle". A Florida Highway Patrol trooper responded and pulled him over. She noticed Martin's eyes were glassy and bloodshot and his speech was slurred. When he stepped out of the car, Martin was "unsteady and shaking" but agreed to do field-sobriety tests for the trooper. He failed.
Martin was arrested on charges of DUI and driving while his license was suspended or revoked. He was taken to jail after refusing to submit to a urine test.
"The defendant was constantly falling asleep in my vehicle," the trooper wrote. He was released later that evening after posting $500 bail.

And some more details on Benoit's final days
NoDQ.com > WWE > More revealing details from Benoit's final days
Posted by Bobby Spade on 04/07/2008 at 03:01 PM
Last week we noted that, according to phone logs obtained by the The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, three WWE superstars text messaged Chris Benoit after his death. Here are more notes from the newly obtained records:
- Benoit wasn’t much for text messaging. He would write short text messages, and wouldn’t use the method of communicating to open up to friends.
- He did keep in touch with Chris Jericho, Gregory Helms, Scott James (Armstong), Chavo Guerrero, Bill DeMott, Hardcore Holly, CM Punk and Shawn Daivari.
- On 5/9, Nancy texted Benoit, “Get off the crap, you’re on (steroids), it’s making you passive aggressive and I don’t need the abuse.” She also wrote, “I will not accept this steroid induced roller coaster ride of emotional abuse .. You need professional (help).”
- On another day, Nancy texted, “Get off the stuff. It’s obvious (you’re on). I’m probably not the only one who can see and we both know the Wellness program is a joke.”
- In one of Benoit’s last matches, Chris teamed with Punk against Marcus Cor Von and Elijah Burke, which ended getting screwed up and ending with a DQ finish. Benoit went off for the finish, but later apologized for his outburst. Punk texted him, “I’m sorry as well. We are better than that. Never again.”
- Investigators were weirded out that after killing his family, Benoit called Delta Airlines to book a flight to Houston for the WWE PPV.
- During the weekend in question, Jericho text messaged Benoit to tell him that former Stampede wrestler Beef Wellington had died. There is no indication that Benoit received the message before his own death.
