Guys I need some help with my wireless network... I currently have a linksys 54g wireless router & pci card, and am running XP on my computer and for some reason I am running slow (Speed: 2.0 mbps, Signal: Low)

My computer is maybe 30 - 35 feet from the router in a cabinet in my desk. My router/modem was kind of out of the way, on the floor next to my TV stand, but I moved it back behind my TV because it caught my 9 month old daughter's attention, (infants like flashing lights) because I don't need her getting hurt or ruining my equipment. Would my TV be creating interference and slowing the performance of my router? It seems that it was better before I moved it behind the TV...

Any thoughts?

I'm not an expert on the subject, but we use a cisco wireless network at work, and usually it works better when they (tx'er and rx'er) are in line of sight of each other, but even when not, it doesn't seem to affect signal strength or quailty too much.

Cool quote. Duke Nukem kicks ass! At least that's where I first heard that quote...

Thanks...

I think that Duke may have "borrowed" it from They Live... that is where I got it from...

The TV can affect it. I've found my laptop loses connection with my wireless router if I sit too close to my TV in the living room with the laptop.

My router is in my den, which is connected to my bedroom, which is connected to my living room. I found I get higher signal strength if I keep the doors open between the living room/bedroom and the bedroom/den.
