I hurt my lower back playing tennis yesterday and i have a match coming up next monday and i really need to get some mobility and bending ability back so i can serve to some extent. So i was wondering if someone has a good back stretch for me or some suggestions. Thanks-

My wife has lower back problems....she uses one of those exercise/yoga balls to work those lower back muscles....don't know if this helps.

Don't stretch!!

Ice your back for 10 minutes, then take the ice off for 10 minutes. Repeat 3 times. Do this twice a day for 2 or 3 days.

You want the muscle to contract. Stretching it, although you may feel like you are doing good, will only keep you hurt longer.

Bend over, drop your pants, and take a cock in your ass

i was told by 3 DRs 90% of lower back pain is really not strecthing your hamstrings they attache way up hi, about top of ass level usually stretching out your hams is a huge help.
ps and most of lower back pain is muscle related so heat and ice are big helps i forget the order to do it. and damp heat as well

No heat just ice.

I have been trying to score with my chiropracters really hot assitant for months now. I always call her up when i hurt my back.

Stick with the ice.

I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist. Heat is always a no-no. Also, which part of your back did you hurt? Depending on where you hurt it at would depend on what kind of stretches to do. I would suggest to get adjusted and get massaged, depending on how important your match is.

a rub and a tug always makes you feel better, make sure to ask for the "works"

Haha I thought someone would kinda be discreet about it and make some funny innuendo. You just went out and said it. :icon_mrgr

Update on my stupid back-
So i go through practice with some pain, and it was really hard to serve because A. the sun and B. My back.

The coach gave me some stretches that i did and it helped for a lil bit but then it started to hurt again but a lot less then before. I iced it right when i got home because it really tightened up on my ride home. So i iced, stretched and im going to rest it tomorrow to some extent. But i will take all of your suggestions...Minus CM Marks. But hopefully this will help for now. But keep the suggestions coming. haha

Keep doing the exercises the doctor gave you and try to keep your back straight as much as you can I hurt my back when I was young and dumb so I know all about back pain My doctor told me to lay on my stomach and raise my head and waist but keep my legs on the floor kinda like yoga, or stand with your legs apart and bend backwards like your doing a backbend.
