Today is a lucky day if you were one of the fans of HBO's short-lived "Lucky Louie."
We know you're out there somewhere, fans of "Lucky Louie."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS has given a script commitment to an untitled multi-camera comedy created by Louis C.K. and Pamela Adlon. The "Lucky Louie" stars will write the pilot script and if CBS orders a pilot, they'll also star.
The trade paper says that the pilot focuses on a couple who "have been together too long and have too many children." But how many children is too many? And how long is too long?
C.K. would serve as executive producer on the pilot.
In addition to starring in "Lucky Louie," Adlon and C.K. also co-wrote the episode "Discipline."
Adlon is an Emmy winner for her voice work on FOX's "King of the Hill." She also co-stars on Showtime's "Californication."
C.K. earned an Emmy as one of the writers on "The Chris Rock Show." He won no awards for his work as writer-director on "Pootie Tang."

I still miss the hell out of Luckie Louie, but so long as this show avoids the typical sitcom stereotypes (and it looks like it will), I'm happy.
Here's hoping for the bessssssst.

When Lucky Louie gets thrown down the CBS filter its going to suck dick.
It still would be nice to see it succeed, but the creative limitations are going to make it suck a fat one.

Yimmy would only jump ship if it was a successful show. A pilot is a test show, so...

I'm not one of these people who automatically likes something because it it O and A related, but god damn "Lucky Louie" was one of the best shows about marriage and child rearing (hehe) that I ever saw.

Dear Louis CK and Pamela Adlon:
Whatever you do, do not put Rick Shapiro on the show. He was the only problem I had with Lucky Louie.

One of the main advantages of Lucky Louie was it being real. Cursing like a normal couple, and dealing with racial issues in a comical manner. I can't imagine CBS being as open as HBO is when it comes to material.
