He lacks the one thing that would make him immune to criticism: a vagina.

He seems like a good guy and does seem to be quite popular with a lot of the fans. I'm all for him staying, I wouldn't wish my worst enemy to have to live in Europe. I just would rather see some of the more established names get a shot at a paying gig first. They're all a good bunch of people, and there doesn't seem to be a lot of paid spots on RnF's staff.

The good news is once the merger goes through, maybe XM will start spending money again and we'll get all of these fine folks compensated for their work.

You know how things get derailed. I was just trying to steer things out of the same old bashing that always seems to happen.

I'll be honest, I don't hear any difference in Mooch's production that makes it any better than anyone else's. Having said that, I see no need to badmouth the guy or demand he be deported just because I don't care for his choice of opening songs. Some people just go way overboard. He's a nice guy and anyone who has met him that I know of has nothing buy nice things to say about him, so why bash?

So I guess the whole who should get paid first was just a misguided attempt to put SOME positive spin on something that could degenerate into another bashfest. I mean, check out the Lilly thread. I hope I didn't come across like I was criticizing Mooch, or being harsh. Mooch is great... on air and in the office.

That said, his personality and competence aside... it's obvious that his *ahem* "status" in this country is a bit dicey. I'm not going to criticize his decision to stay... hells no... welcome to Amerikay, that's what I say... but, unfortunately, I don't make the rules regarding who stays and who goes... not yet anyway.

It's a pipe dream to think that XM would consider putting someone in Mooch's position "on the books"... it ain't gonna happen. It's too bad... but that's the reality. What's more... maybe 'on air' on a nationally(internationally even) broadcasted radio show isn't the best place to "keep a low profile".

I wish Mooch all the best... but you've got to realize that he's in a tough, probably even hopeless, situation.
