This show rocks. I like both, the American and Japanese actually. Every time I watch this, I want to go to a 5 star restaurant.

Japanese version was great, American version got a lot better. Not that abortion with William Shatner as the Chairman in the beginning.

Why do I add nothing to everything?

Cat Cora does not belong on the show. She got hammered in the coffee battle two weeks ago. Oringer even came off much better on camera.

I loved the original version, the American one is not on the same level.

For the record I hate Bobby Flay and the Throw Down show he does just makes everyone look bad.

Batali is great on camera and does a very good job on the show.

I love this show. I heard a rumor that the winner is predetermined in the American version, which takes something away from it.

There was one episode where Joel McHale (sp?) from The Soup was a judge. He was f'n hysterical. Of course, they won't ask him back, though. The fat broad, Karim Bakohum (sp?) was laughing but trying to appear appalled. Bitch.

You think you know someone and they go and say something like that...

The original was without a doubt the best... but the American version is still interesting.

I wish they would be making new Japanese versions, or showing old re-runs. The battles/ingredients/chefs were all better. Can't believe there isn't a thread already on this (but I'll let search Nazi's look... too lazy myself this Sunday)

I want to see Iron Chef Chen(?) again... he was the best!

The Japanese version is so superior that I can't even watch the American version anymore. American version is absolute shit.

Anyone know where I can find old episodes of the Japanese show, let me know.

I liked the Japanese one, but I would eat a lot more of the stuff they make on the American version. I wish instead of just celebrity chefs they had actual "specialty" Iron Chefs like in Japan. We know Batali's specialty is Italian, but Flay, Cora and Simon are all just hybrid chefs with no one specialty.

I agree with Cora and Simon being just 'hybrid' or fusion chefs, but Flay is more of a SouthWestern style cheff with his chilis, sauces, etc.

Looks like you'll just have to suck it up & call your cable company & request Fine Living. Try not to sound too faggy. :haha7::haha7:

Didnt like the original, few times ive watched the food was waaay too 'asian' based

Although the US chefs have specialities, i get more of a universal food feel.

Wish Batalie hadn't been booted off the channel though. Keep him and Simon.
Cora is ehhh

Motherfucking YEAH! I was hoping ICJ would wind up on Fine Living, which also carries other FN castoffs (Wolfgang Puck and Molto Mario).

Not that I don't also love ICA, but the original is almost always the best.

For some reason I like the old one better, I dig the new one ok but it just seems its not as mysterious as the Japanese one.

I like both. The dubbed commentary is hilarious with the Jap version and the ingrediants are definetly more interesting. I liked it though when the Jap version chefs got an ingrediant they were familiar with like (bell peppers).

American version I watch when Batali, Symon, or Morimoto (love his knives, you can see the folds in the steel) are on. I don't care for Cora or Flay.

loved the 1st version(JAP) not big on the american version. ate at bobby flays place at the borgata in AC. it was OK i guess. it seems that all his stuff is waaaaaaaayyyyy too busy with all these rubs and shit. it was a good meal but it makes me wonder if he's ever heard the ol' saying "less is more"?

ICA is pretty good thou... the Batali and Moriomoto battles are the only ones I TiVo (Flay sucks cock, as does Cora).
