Could be the most brutal war ever. But are these true color pics or just colorized Ted Turner style? I didn't know color film had been invented back then.

They are true color pictures. The first known real color picture was taken in 1861 by James Clerk Maxwell. The Europeans, mainly the French, were the main users of color photography in the first world war.

Read a book once about how many guys got killed on the last day of the war,even though they knew the armistice was signed. Up to the last minute even.

Cool pix, thnx for the link. The First World War doc I saw recently mentions how color pics were taken but only shows a handful of them.

I'll see if I can find some. After my father passed away we were going
thru some of his old stuff and we came across pics my uncle took from
inside a bomber doing bombing runs in the Asian Theatre. Very cool stuff.
I have some and my sister has the rest but they'd need to be scanned in
and she lives in Tennessee now.
