So, I've got two moles that the doc thinks should come off, and she presents it like not a big deal, but they'll be sending them off "To the lab" so of course until then, I'll be a big hypochondrial-puss bag.
But in an effort to stave that off, I figured I'd toss this up and see if other baggers have similar experience.
So, anyone?

Yes, me.
I had this..."thing" on the front of my thigh for a LONG time. Bout the size of a pencil eraser but half as tall....it was nasty and I was convinced that they were going to have to amputate my leg. I started to imagine "pains" in my leg. I kept putting off going to the doctor but, finally manned up and went. Doc took one look at it and was like, "Meh...that's nothing." Sliced it off in 2 seconds and sent me on my way.
I walked out of there so happy that I was keeping my leg....what a tool.
and
Good Luck bro

I'd can't understand how people go into the business of dissecting this shit, who says to themselves one day, I wanna dissect shit people get removed from their bodies?

My dad and a friend I know about same age (mid 20's) had same thing done...Nothing to really worry about they always send it to a lab for testing just incase to cover there own ass....I wouldn't worry

I've had several removed and sent off for testing. No big deal. You'll be fine.

Is there more than one process for removal? The way the doc described it to me was essentially "shaving" it off.
Which sounded somewhat barbarous to me...but I am in Hawaii.

Before they cut them off with the scapel, they give you a local anesthetic. Then the doc will cauterize or burn the skin to seal up the wound. As long as you aren't afraid of needles, then you should be fine. It's painless and really quick, less than a half hour total (depending on the number you need removed).

I'm surprised they would do a shaving if they're sending it off for testing. Mine were excised with a scalpel so they could to the goodness underneath. Either way they'll be no pain if that's what you're worried about.

I'm not real worried about the pain-jsut that she's being thorough and taking out whatever evil goo might be in there, and not just slicing off the top.

Novocaine, slice, sealer. My doc doesn't cauterize anymore, just some glue sealer shit.

I had a spider bite on the back of my calf and ten years later it had grown and hurt when I banged it. Doc argued it wasn't a spider bite but finally agreed to cut it off. That bitch had brown roots, two of them, going in an inch and then headed down towards my foot. Doc sent it off and it came back nothing.

Called the doc to clarify-after the test the sliced part, if it's a problem, they send me to someone else to big out all the goodness.
So, hopefully while that all happens, I don't develop cancer or something, but they seem relatively mundane about it.

We needed an "Official" thread for this? Is there a bootleg thread out there about precancerous moles?

Well a few years ago my chick noticed an odd shaped red and brown mole on my back
Melanoma
my heart stopped when the Dr nonchalantly told me
Luckily they caught it early
They took wider margins in a 2nd procedure in the hospital
Everything is fine for me 8 years later
Didn’t have to get chemo or radiation
But I go for a toes to scalp physical inspection by my Doctor every 6 months. <Luv when he look at my junk>
It a nervous couple days leading up to that appointment
The moral of the story is if you see something odd get it checked out
Even melanoma is highly curable if caught early
It is deadly if it gets into your lymph nodes
Carcinoma, the other type of skin cancer, is not as serious, and takes a long time to kill you.
I grew up on the beach getting my anglo skin burned
those days are over
when ever I go out side and the sun is shining I wear sun screen and always keep a shirt and hat on

My kid is graduating this year and she wants to get into bio research. Apparently this kind of work is how you "pay your dues" to get into the fancy higher-paying research gigs.

Your chick saved your life. Hope you at least gave her a CSK "tank youuu."
Also, this thread would seem more useful with pics...:icon_mrgr

The left side of my bag feels like a mess of tubes, and the right side feels empty other than the ball. Is that normal?
